Probably because they didn't happen.

Not a surprise at all, because you're infamously full of shit, as well as being a bog-standard bigot.

But hey, apparently all good on here.

This push by Morrison for an inquiry into the origin of the virus I think is going to become a pivotal moment in history. Damn straight he shouldn’t back down, I think you’ll find the worlds leaders will begin to have his back.
In case you missed it, Covid-19 has been fairly big news, and understanding it as best we can is a logical step to overcoming it and stopping it happening again. It’s utter madness to not have an independent inquiry, actually.
This is the moment the world stopped bending over for the CCP

Desensitised people to racism and acts of violence...paint themselves as the victims

Count how many times you read here..."oh I get called racist"

Most of the world worst acts of violence via racism aren't actually conducted by blatant racists, just people that get manipulated by them...they often think they are doing the right thing

Hugging them at the end, looking into their eyes and telling them welcome to Australia is the gift I give them on arrival. They are some of the most profound moments of love that I have experienced

The China Virus is hitting supply chains hard ( via XYZ ) :

“Australia’s Financial Investment Review Board is in crisis tonight, after being forced to temporarily shut due to a shortage of rubber stamps.

A record number of approvals in the last 12 months has taken its toll on the department, with wear and tear on it’s office stationary the first casualty.

“Pro-forma regulation is what we do best here at the FIRB, and unfortunately that has consequences for our staff and stationary,” a spokesman for the FIRB said.

The FIRB was waiting on rubber stamps to come from China, as they could not be sourced locally.

This is not the first time it’s been forced to close. Back in 2017, the FIRB’s one full-time employee was forced to take time off after a serious wrist injury from RSI, after a record surge in the amount of Chinese buying Australian real estate.

“Those were dark times. Chinese were parking laundered cash in real estate like no tomorrow and the pressure coming from Corelogic and the rest of the F.I.R.E. industry was immense,” a former FIRB employee stated.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg stressed the government was doing all it could to ensure the FIRB would remain open and the flow of Australian assets to foreigners would continue.

“Our mantra is that Australia is for sa.., er open for business, and we intend to facilitate that as best we can,” Frydenberg said in a short statement.“

Blowin a majority of the stuff you say has merit, but your continuous use of the "China Virus" makes you sound like a Fox News presenter and we know how credible those cracker heads are. Not trying to insult you - more of a suggestion to maybe call it what it is for credibilty reasons.

I use the term China virus because to call it anything else would be the very definition of non-credible.

The plain simple truth never lacks credibility.

If you want to adorn this name with a confected outrage and bizarrely applied logic supplied to you by the MSM then go ahead.

Would you prefer I referred to it as “Covid 19 From China” ?

The main problem I have with the uproar over the “ racist implications “ of the name China Virus is how it’s so obviously political and part of Chinese propaganda.

The disgust at “China virus “ was applied retrospectively after the propaganda campaign was set into effect.

Virtually every news outlet in the world initially called it the China Virus or the Wuhan virus with no ill will intended . There was no racial implications, it was simple statement of fact.

First the Chinese government petitioned the WHO to falsely stigmatise the name China virus in order to erase any connection with the origin of the virus.

Then the Chinese government started telling the world that the virus didn’t even come from China.

Why would anyone humour such bullshit ?

To call it 'China virus' is plainly non-credible. It is a corona virus, where it's from has absolutely no bearing on its lethality, infectiousness or means required to treat it.

To call it 'China virus' indicates that the person using the term thinks that where it is from is more important than a medically accurate description. What this shows is an agenda, an agenda that doesn't concern control, treatment or suppression. An agenda that is concerned not for the human toll - this shows an agenda that is more concerned with finger pointing and blame-dodging.

Of course to those drinking the kool-aid, this is a conspiracy or 'propaganda' - not a medically accurate description.

garyg1412 Thursday, 30 Apr 2020 at 10:37am

Fair argument Blowin but I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume most of that footage was pre-naming convention. It was found to be a novel corona virus which originated in Wuhan, China so yes many references were originally made to it's origin much like SARS and MERS and no ill will intended.

We know why it became officially known as Covid-19. The reason though is probably more scientific than a "bizarrely applied logic". I suppose it's like the birth of your child who you initially call a "cute little fucker" who eventually becomes George.

I just think the "China" or "Chinese" virus has been used by some to further a political agenda more so than a being a racial issue which is where the credibility comes into question. Anyway horses for courses mate so please yourself. As I said not an insult more of a suggestion so carry on.

And yes that little fopar by Chris Cuomo on that YouTube clip you attached is a classic case of American partisan journalism - no surprises there.

I can see why some people (including me once upon a time!) might be quick to accuse Blowin of racism for his anti-CCP stance, particularly because of the forceful manner in which he expresses his opinions. However, the more I read over his past posts, the more I can see his point. I don't think he has a problem with Chinese people, just Chinese people who toe the CCP line. That's not a racial bias; it's merely political. On my way to work this morning, I drove past land that had been clear-felled by a Chinese businessman. If I vehemently criticised this Chinese businessman for his actions, some might accuse me of racism, but my opposition to his actions is not racially motivated, but politically motivated, as I value the remaining tracts of forest in my community.

Exactly, Overthefalls .

Unfortunately racism has now been politically inverted and used to suppress truths.

Previously racism was used to spread misinformation , now the accusation of racism and the confected Defense against racism is employed to deflect from the truth. Just go to the App thread on this site and witness firsthand the purposeful conflation of the political with the individual as a means of silencing opinion.

This is a potent weapon of the Chinese Communist Party. They use the Chinese people as a shield from criticism. Their intention is too bury themselves so deeply amongst the Chinese race that the two appear inseparable. Their ultimate goal is to get the Chinese people themselves to believe that the CCP and the Chinese race are one and the same instead of a recognising that the CCP is a parasitic tumour which is stealing the wealth and goodwill from their society .

The change in name had no basis in science or scientific accuracy whatsoever. The WHO will be the first to admit this . They have said this in media presentations that they claimed the name was intended to circumvent stigmatisation of Chinese people but it was really to prevent the stigmatisation of the CCP.

The WHO has a long history of naming diseases after their point of origin and this reveals that the name is political. A political decision implemented by the Chinese Communist Party to protect their brand.

As such I will not respect the officially designated name as it does nothing beyond protect a bunch of evil gangsters with their eyes on our country.

If the WHO was remotely uncorrupted it would directly address the official CCP statements which claim the virus originated anywhere but China.

This government sanctioned dissemination of fake news goes unpunished.

China Virus.

I think the powerful point of unconscious bias is being overlooked here. Over the Falls - if you repeat your statement about the clearfelling businessman and just say it without the descriptor "chinese" in front. Why not leave it at "businessman". Why include a racial descriptor if you don't want to make a point of race. Any reference to race means you are assuming that there is a generalised link between race and the actions of that person.
Language defines reality and how we see the world.
Wonder how we would feel if someone got Covid-22 from their pet kangaroo and the "Australian Virus" wiped out millions of people and stayed in the lexicon for generations. Guarantee that trade from Australia would suffer for years through simple association.

Point taken Bungan33. I don't think there's unconscious bias in me; maybe it's just insensitivity or even laziness on my part. In all honesty, the only reason I, and a lot of other people in my community, refer to him as the "Chinese" businessman is for easy identification, as he is the only Chinese businessman around here. If I just referred to him as a businessman, I could be referring to any of the local businessmen. However, I do appreciate that people often unnecessarily use a racial descriptor when referring to someone and I understand how that can be perceived as racist. I guess people can sometimes be perceived as racist without them even intending to be. Are the Balinese people that refer to me as a "bule" being racist or are they just using a quick and easy racial descriptor? Such is the precarious nature of life in a world obsessed with political correctness.

I decided to be a facetious smart arse and admonish her by reminding her that the racial descriptor was unnecessary and that she should just refer to fried rice as fried rice. It only makes sense to investigate the source so it doesn't happen again. Theoretically, China would want to know because with their economy down nearly 10%, they've lost as much as anyone. More...

As Turnbull recognised with his laws aimed at shedding greater light on foreign influence, such attempts to wield influence have real implications for Australia’s sovereignty and national security.

Labor’s Anthony Byrne, deputy chair of the powerful parliamentary joint committee on intelligence and security, is concerned about the role of business in such efforts: “The difficulty with billionaire business people when they get up and try to advise on international relations is that they have a conflict of interest given their economic interests — one they never declare.

“And these business people are turning a blind eye to extraordinary human rights abuses. The Chinese government has imprisoned a million Muslims based on their faith alone. How can anyone overlook that, no matter how much money they make?”

After yesterday, the government has no reason to soft-pedal on business allies of Beijing any more.

The reality is that Scotty from marketing made a little bet that he could score a few political points at home for being “tough” on China without having to face any consequences. The only likely outcome of his call for an enquiry is that it has made it less likely.
