Vale...and thanks! “When the moon is shining the cripple becomes hungry for a walk” ― Chinua Achebe, Things Fall Apart
Funny stuff for all the family.
And what in the actual fuck does that Achebe quote even mean, Shatnerd??

Bloody clever, can't even imagine Clarke and Dawe doing that one.
Ahh well, the little fella had a good innings.. Good on him.
They don't make 'em like this guy every day of the week. Do yaself a favour and have a listen. RIP comrade!
Thanks Shats, Chappelle is hilarious and Prince was a genius.
This should probably be in the awesome covers forum but I think it's pretty appropriate here.
Prince was a dead-set one off. And really funny to boot.
Hopefully he's purifying himself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.
Chappelle on a interview said Prince got him in the end by using the image of him impersonating him on one of his covers.
"That's a Prince judo move right there ... you make fun of Prince in a sketch and he'll just use you in his album cover," Chappelle later noted in a "Tonight Show" interview with host Jimmy Fallon. "What am I going to do — sue him for using a picture of me dressed up like him? ... That's checkmate right there."

Vale Michael Cimino. Director of The Deer Hunter and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. Here's a nice eulogy of sorts from the Dude, Jeff Bridges.

Dead Kennedys, Queensland, 1983:
"The reception wasn't quite so warm in Queensland, where police arrested black drummer D. H. Peligro on the street for "public drinking". "His can of beer was unopened," Biafra told US magazine Maximumrocknroll. "When Ray, our guitarist, tried to intervene, he was thrown in another police car and taken away." The tour continued after the drummer was bailed out by promoter Roger Grierson but the incident left its mark. "Summing up Brisbane, all I can say is it was the closest thing to a heavy, heavy, junta-style police state I've ever been in," said Biafra.
RAAAWWHW!
Vale Gene Wilder. I didn't know he'd visited Australia. Quite recently.
Nailed.
Sad news. A mate of a mate told me that Shatner's Bassoon has passed on. Well, he has shufffled off this particular cyber-coil. Gone surfin' in sunnier climes!
Mahalo Nerd, you Marxist, book readin', punkoid throw-back. Don't let the bastards grind ya down!
And thanks for all the Jello! There's always room for it in this crazy world!
Crazy stuff Turkey.
Thanks for being part of the Swellnet world Shatner's Bassoon.
Travel on mate.
Is this true? Just the other day in the forum Indo started, he posted (supposedly him) something that was totally out of character. Seemed really unusual.
Wow, if so, I echo Blowins sentiments above.
PUTIN!
At ease Shatnerd. Now I've gotta find somone else to pinch band tips from.
I'm confused.
Is this some sort of in-joke?
That Shatner has left the building?
Pretty sure TT means he's stopped commenting not stopped breathing.
I hope, otherwise I'll feel like a right prick.
Well if your not posting on here, you may as well be dead :-)
I assumed he had won the Swellnet P-Pass comp and just wasn't coming back, Colonel Kurtz style?
Or maybe it was just the 'swearing' filter?? FFS! That ain't 'patriotically correct'?!
something to send off david mancuso, who died today.
thanks for the good times. farewell.
Goddamn! Cut n paste this into your search engine of choice! Vale, buddy.

Damn, another one. Shit. Thanks for the heads up chook.
Anyone who can do this to a Woody Guthrie track deserves to be remembered a long time.
Vale John Hurt. One of the best actors round the traps. From when I first saw him in Alien to the latter The Proposition, and everything in-between. Oscar nominated for Midnight Express and The Elephant Man (best actor). Personal highlights: his solo performance in Samuel Beckett's filmed play Krapp's Last Tape. And if that's a tad esoteric, I'd strongly recommend a film called The Hit, with a young Tim Roth, Terence Stamp, even Bill Hunter makes an appearance as a dodgy Aussie gangster.
Fucken brilliant.
Actually, with what's going on in the world today, how could I forget him as Winston Smith in 1984!
Atomic!
Watched The Hit last night on your head's up T.T had seen it age's ago but couldn't remember. Stoked rad film Bill Hunter's Aussie seedcake is worth it alone."Hawthorne's my team and there getting flogged"haha
Good movie.
Trivia: slight movie goof. As I recall, the game Bill is watching is actually Carlton vs Essendon.
An old mate used to love the bit when the young nutter Tim Roth goes berserker on the Spaniards who are taking the piss out of him in a bar. It's up there with any of Joe Pesci's funny & horrifying psycho gangster stuff.
It used to amp him up before a night on the tiles!!
Vale Bill Paxton!
(with some help from his Devo mates)
Chuck Berry, headed off down Route 66 for the last time.
Hail, hail rock n roll
Vale! One more time!
