Supa, a rough empirical observation from graph below would suggest vaccination doesn’t have much effect on transmission for omicron. Hopefully though it still reduces hospitalisation but will take a couple weeks for that data to become clear in Oz.

Xmas day tbb takes prescribed drugs + 2 paracetamol.
Only thing that has changed was tbb being prescribed an over the counter (Pfizer) reflux drug...
(Pfizer 'De-Gas' Drug) ...GP says it's only a stop gap until Qld Health specialist appointment.
Within 40 mins tbb was in the Park Walking with Mum.
tbb began spinnin' out, staggering & slurring gibberish & body was shutting down pretty fast.
Was real thirsty but now far distant from any seat or tap.
Got in Mums Car...Fair Ground ride until Mum's Place.
Mum was doin' triage for emergency comatose patient ...her son!
Body had shutdown & tbb was out like a light for 4 hrs solid & felt just as bad upon waking.
Took another 2 hrs to regain speech by late arvo was still rag dolled.
Actually thought it was a newer & faster Covid Strain...that went down well...(Oops...Sorry!)
Younger Bro is a Cop...said that his bro had Overdosed...just by adding the 2 Panadol?
New Drug Cocktail of Pfizer 'De-Gas' + Panadol was the only difference in the Mix. (re: Take care!)
Never said, but the evening dose has another Drug...this AM drug mix was the lower dosage.
Was well enough late last night to partake in a swellnet Xmas wrap.
Still woke with similar dopey Health Complaint this morning...(24hrs on!)
tbb has upped his fear factor rank > #1 Pfizer Pills- Panadol #2 The Pfizer Jab #3 Pfizer Covid Strain.
GP & tbb are more than happy to have a yarn with Qld Health...Dream on!
Just saying...can't sleep, walk, talk, hardly get outta bed or take Panadol without an Emergency Ward.
Just guessin' any Jab would need to be dosed in the Emergency Bay to save the Ambos a trip.
Yet if well, tbb would take the Jab over a "6 month exemption" that would take forever to renew!
Crew & many often debate how a simpleton knows more about the effects of a Jab than experts.

tbb knows & now learnt the hard way, that he's too ill for Vax & GP is prioritising the intervention.
If Qld Health want 300,000 Outpatients to Vax then simply give us our much needed health checks.
We all know that will never happen as Mass Jab/Test Crisis dwarfs record Oz-wide Hospital Crisis.
We Hesitants are doin' the right thing...who here wants a dose of Vax escaped mutated Omicron?

Re “The Plan”….. go and get tested is the constant instruction. Pity there is no testing capacity. 8hr wait being reported at Coffs Harbour. Then there is a 3 to 4 day wait for results.
The plan needs to incorporate a lot more rapid testing otherwise it will be testing grid lock.
Still confused why people line up outside in the rain huddling next to each other to get a PCR test on Boxing Day ? If you feel sick stay at home and isolate. A PCR test wont save you.

People with Omicron can still get sick even if just like a bout of the flue, in many workplaces you still don't want the virus hitting everyone at once as you don't want people at work sick or you don't want all your staff taking sick leave at the same time, in this case a health setting you obviously dont want all your staff sick before a wave of cases that even if milder than past strains will still see hospital numbers increase.
And obviously in a heath setting you obviously dont want staff spreading the virus to people with other health issues that even with getting Omicron (or just the flue) are at real risk of getting real sick or dying.
PS. I had no idea who this guy was until i just googled his name, obviously with past Labor links he is just playing politics, but even posting this makes him look really stupid especially with Doctor in front of his name?..surely he can't also be a doctor and be that stupid???
Common sense is the plan, but obviously some people lack it.
ID, it’s not that easy. The local ED department had 25% staff at home recently as they were close or casual contacts. So where’s the risk of injury or death, people needing emergency treatment from car crashes etc, or, a possible Covid casual contact?
