Yep so many posters here openly supporting Hamas... There is ..... Mmm... None.
Ah ok , will point it out again for some that have trouble with their cognitive critical thinking ability.
There is no one supporting Hamas here in any shape or form.
Being critical of the indiscriminate killing of civilians by a modern well equipped military (IDF) supported by the most powerful nation on earth USA does not make you an islamic terrorist supporter or antisemitic. It demonstrates you have a shred of humanity and a concern for fairness and justice for other people living on this planet of ours that we need to share.
The above comment @oliver demonstrates a lack of maturity on so many levels, how old are ya mate? Get off ya parents device.

Promised myself last night that I was done here. Despite how I enjoy interacting with the good eggs that show up on these threads, it's often noise from some others that I just don't need in my head atm.
But got up for the early (skunked), and the Dennis the Menace in me couldn't resist so I read it backwards so I could stop if I got to one of "those" posters and feel a few replies are in order, then I'm gone. Hopefully.
@Supafreak. Oh fuck yeah! Shipwrecks and lacerations and fishing (I'm a strictly catch and release guy though). I'd give my left nut to be there doing that with you right now. Don't be surprised if I take you up on that offer! But be careful what you wish for, I may never leave! (Although in my mind's eye the guy that greets me is a fucked up black disco funk artist with beaded dreds, 'bitches' in tow, white knee high snakeskin boots and a massive appetite for the South American yay-yo). Thanks.
@basesix, fark "Freaks", you just revived a few nightmares from my youth with that one. Saw it a few times many years ago, sitting up late with my brother, high as MFs, back in the days when the networks used to do the late, and the late late movies instead of infomercials. Those 'pin heads' still haunt my nightmares. (if you get a chance, google a profile/side shot of Trump sycophant Roger Stone.
Same shaped head. Think it's a pituitary gland deficiency that causes it). But yeah, if you're there, happy to join the freaks.
@southernraw, thank you for your words and kind thoughts. Jesse sends her thanks too and a smothering of face licks . She had a bad night early this week, whimpering in her bed which made me make the decision while I sat up with her. She hadn't done that really before. So next morning I got up early and got the tools ready and picked her out a lovely final resting spot under a tree in my front yard, close to my bedroom window next to the bird bath where her old mates the maggies, and currawongs, larks and butcherbirds, blackbirds, native mynahs and the rest all come daily. Steeled myself and then FMD she woke up perky and has been actually pretty good since, sleeping well, eating and shitting like a horse and right now is barking at the back door wanting to get let out for a sniff around and probably another crap (two already and she's been up for an hour). So we're back to where we were a few weeks ago, twenty year old dog, it's a day to day thing atm. It's coming for sure, but not today. I haven't been able to go to work for a month, don't really care, she's more important. I'll come back and let all her friends here know when she finally crosses the rainbow bridge to be with her old friend and protector Preston the Wonder Dog.
Sorry if I missed anyone else, haven't read thru for a couple of hours before pressing the comment button. had to take a mid-post break because @Pop Down's little bro (not little, he's about 7ft tall) rang me from Yamba to chat and FFS ask me legal advice (don't these two realise I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about! talk about having a fool for a lawyer!).
So I'm out of here, and speaking of @Pop Down, will leave you all in his capable hands and witnesses to the unique, kind hearted and often hilarious world view from Planet Pop Down.
Adios.

Lets cut the bull shit, you people very rarely say anything bad or critical of Hamas, yet are highly critical of Israel.
Not once have any of you ever said this war could end tomorrow if Hamas surrender and handed over the hostages, because you dont want to see Hamas destroyed, but would be very happy to see Israel destroyed.
This is not a war Israel wanted, but its a war hamas wanted and have spent 15+ years preparing for, lets not forget Israel got attacked on 7th October and hundreds of people kidnapped from babies to elderly, and over one hundred are still there.

Not true @indo
I've said from the start that Hamas need to be dealt with, but brute military force is not the way to do this as the civilian toll is too extreme and if anything acts as a recruitment drive for terrorism.
You spend a lot more time here than me, go back and look at my initial comments on this thread where I directly addressed your questions on how I would think the situation could be handled better by the Israeli's.
Edit... You people???
Pls provide examples of support for hamas noinfo ;);)
- or endorsement of Islamic terrorism
- or antisemitism

Are you a Zionist supporter ?

correct, Indo
And the tears for babies and children and murdered innocents have only been for Palestinians...never for Israel. The horror is only on the Palestinian side of the battle.
according to basesix "we accept ya... one of us... one of us...
come join us freaks who care deeply about people,"
The only people who care (deeply care) are those on the Palestinian side, everyone else doesn't care about human loss of life.

This is pretty disturbing language to be using on a surfing website.

actually, you are the last person that should be deciding on what is appropriate language. One of your buddies in here used homosexual innuendo towards Indo...Did you condemn that? no, you stayed silent. It's only certain posters you cry about.
However, the above homosexual language is unnecessary.
Fair point Roady but this is pretty explicit stuff. No place for it here.
I am in a different ... orbit , to most people .
Adam 12 ( the knee boarder ) and my brother were in a different Orbit to me .
I mentioned on another ( hidden away thread ) that I took him and a group of young idiots to Big Shank ( lol ) . It could have been the first time I had surfed with him .
From the top I could tell it was Big and Perfect , so agreed to nearly kill myself ( and them ) with the walk in and out .
The guys thought it perfect to ( not big haha so I didn't tell them ) .
I said " We Go " ( the trek down and up ( no track and 100m )) was a killer .
To cut a long story short , the boys did think it big ( and perfect ) .
Adam accidentally got in my way , unexpectedly , so it did have to do ( more urgently as I had never surfed with a bloke wearing flippers and thought Ads a fn Seal for a sec ) a turn to miss him ( I was going fast and could have killed him ) .
I was on a new ( brothers ) board which looked like it could turn .
I knew ( anticipated ) I could miss him .
Adam , for a second or two , anticipated something else happening .
Adam got another scare ( walking down and bigness ) but I missed him by at least a foot .
After that little mishap , all the guys nerves settled they got some great waves !!!
Adam kept paddling out ( too quickly imo - fn flippers and wasn't even fn paddling ) .
I probably told him to F off .
After the walk back UP , they said "never take us here again " .
End of story .
edit mishap
I have not , accidentally , hit anyone in the surf with anything , luckily ( touching wood ) .
https://m.
Knee boarder, huh well there you go....
I do have a soft spot for kneeboarders though when i started surfing in the late 80's the Island was riddled with them, Neil Luke the most notable, he would always hoot and call you into waves.
Is it any wonder people 'feel' we're in a battle for our very way of life when the public service is full of this shit?
both in terms of personnel and theory...
you'd think the UK would be slowly waking up to the mess in the EU
maybe they are... post oct 7th...

fwiw, i believe... 'one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter'
and, some of the course seems reasonable... however, it would appear a bit of 'context' would go a long way...
as would some objectivity, stats, and facts...
some context... please!
ms.gay and friends
"Knee boarder, huh well there you go...."
haha
pops outed him there...
subconscious or payback?
though i believe pops is a mallyman...
instant credibility loss
what a pair to turn up at ya beach!
(just stirring, I've been known to ride a longer board and have kneeboarder friends... the ones with attitude though... fuck me!)
Ive always wanted to have a go on one, i think they have there place in the right waves like smaller hollow waves where stand ups are kinda head dipping, kinda look shit in fat waves though unless solid.
indo-dreaming wrote:Ive always wanted to have a go on one, i think they have there place in the right waves like smaller hollow waves where stand ups are kinda head dipping, kinda look shit in fat waves though unless solid.

Glad you're doing the boat reporting. Anyway strikes occurred after the day before, which was a heavy lot of drone strikes by the Houthis, lots shot down by the warships. From what I can tell today was a cruise missile strike, plus Typhoons out of Cyprus.
A couple of points. You aren't going to bomb these guys into stopping. They will divert the supply routes and go again. It could also flare up the war with Saudis again, to their chagrin. Iran benefits, sits back and benefits. Also, China can sit back and watch the West deplete it's missile stockpiles. Many commercial ships are going around the Cape of Good Hope, wonder how Egypt's income is looking? This means supply chain disruptions again, yay. So make sure you guys are all well stocked in hobby supplies.
A beautiful day of surf yesterday, spent 3 hours out with my young fella, both have the sunburn to show for it. You know those days when you pick your lines really well on the reef? One of those.
sypky
What , that's a secret ?
I don't care :) ( sorry ) .
My board was 7,2 , then .
To give the boys some confidence , I chose to go smaller as always wanted to try my brothers big board , 6,8 ( lucky I did as it turned better , I found out ) .
For full disclosure I admit I didn't lead the boys to Big Shank .
My friend was a local and a professional ( local ) soccer player ( think fit ) .
We would only have a look there if potentially perfect .
Every time we checked it out I would say , yes , it looks good , but not That good ( Cliff ) .
This was one of those perfect days and we took the boys ( somehow ) .
It was bigger than I had seen and more perfect so we went for it .
There was no one out ( boys have NFI how big it was remember ) !!!
Never was as no idiots would risk the cliff !
The first and last time I surfed the Shank .
The wave is Big but breaks in deep water .
Can't remember any problems jumping in and out of the water .
It's the Cliff that I thought might kill the boys ( they didn't play footy ) , not the wave. ( or me ) .
Would never take them to Quarantine .
The boat trip won't kill U but the waves can ( sand bottom ) .
My mum would have killed me if I killed my brother , in such a risky way .

Great but im not sure what that has to do with anything?
Neil use to surf all around the Island, and when i was younger id occasionally surf EP, but havent surfed there for a long time, im not 20 anymore and its a much more intense place now with a crowd whenever it breaks.
Pop, mind popping down on the Shanck talk?

might be wise to just go cape good hope for a while...

Ever surf the other side GF?
As in west coast gs?
There is a Little Shank .
It was the hiding spot when we didn't want to go to Flinders ( crowds ) .
Shitty wave .
edit
I really loved Tiber St .
We had it , almost to ourselves , always a bank ( of thick Seaweed ) and it could hold Double Overhead ( easy ) at high tide .
Crowded now but can always get a wave there as the peak moves around .
Yeah that’s a stinka of a wave
goofyfoot wrote:As in west coast gs?
As in little one ^^^ good size and as thick as a small car
A mate of mine loves it gs but I have never seen it good.
Yes fickle given the required weather - swell and wind direction same as the left in the bay to the east although totally different wind required, very fickle, man seen x2-x3 overhead shore break there in the week before someone was swept off the beach and never seen again

GuySmiley/Goofyfoot. Have done many a boat trip from the Cliff of Queens out to Rias Rock, through the nineties and early 1000’s, many a time mid week, nobody else around. Love that wave and the set up, with all its moods and manner.
This is a clandestine post, the ‘Post Policeman’ might book me for talking the wrong turkey in this thread.
Alas, he’s probably out on the bitumen scraping up dead animals. AW

Basesix. Right on brother. The reason we have begun to punctuate this thread and some others, is obvious to most , but invisible to a small few.
Can’t they see the ‘forest for the trees’. AW
Shit guys, don’t point out the obvious!
Because the world would be a better place if leaders only listened to Swellnet commenters, we've created a forum that makes it easy for them to gather our thoughts.
