Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 1st April)

Best Days: No great days

Recap

Small clean 1-2ft of E/NE swell yesterday, fading back from the 1-1.5ft range this morning.

This weekend and next week (Apr 2 - 9)

Unfortunately the coming forecast period isn't good at all.
A zonal westerly storm track will see no real size impact our coast from the Southern Ocean, the best of it being seen Sunday morning to maybe 2ft across south swell magnets, fading through the day. Offshore W/NW winds should create clean fun conditions.

From then there's nothing surfable until Wednesday when a small NE windswell may be seen to 1-2ft pushing down the coast. The fetch generating this off the southern NSW coast isn't ideal as it doesn't fully reach down to us, and this is a little worrying. In any case this small swell will be clean with fresh W/NW offshores, with flat surf again due Thursday.

Longer term we may see a burst of short-range S'ly swell later next week from a cold front pushing up past us, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend.
