Anyone surfed any of Pete's boards? I love the look of his guns - I imagine they'd go great at big Ulus or G Land.

I wanted to test a quad but was told they hadn't got the weight distribution right yet. Apparently, each finbox requires more reinforcement which means more weight, and that weight, which is all at the rear of the board, throws things a bit off.
They were confident it'd be a problem they'd rectify, however maybe that's the problem with that board..?

Good seller.

This metabo oyagi just bought a new board. DHD Black Diamond on the, ahem, chunky side. Thanks for the heads-up there Udo.
Udo. I bought that McTavish Bluebird this evening.
Pick it up tomorrow in Torquay. AW

JF. Sure is, got it a little cheaper, will ride infrequently and then hang onto it for prosperity.
Looks like a beautiful bit of work, beautifully glassed and cared for. Can’t wait to pick it up. AW
A classic board AW !!!
Have fun Flying with the Bird .
holy shit, AW. that is freaking awesome.
Legend mate let us know how it goes on a decent day.

Basesix. Hi mate , it’s in my hot little hands.
Not a mark on it , rarely used, immaculate glass finish, my mate in the surf game, opened a drawer in his garage (come surf shop), found a beautiful translucent 8 inch single fin that’s been in there for a year or two, says this is exactly the sized fin I was going to recommend, it was meant to be.
Can’t wait for the first ride,
Btw. The guy who sold it was very nice, genuine and honest. Hardly used. Stoked.
$2K board normally.AW

Pop Down. Hi. I will have fun flying with the bird.
Thanks Captain of the Jefferson Airplane.AW
so good, AW. What a cool mid-winter (in a few ways) life moment. Seems a lot to put on a board, but hey, they kinda define this side of our little journey. I am really happy for you. Will it travel?
^^ change the fin change the board AW :)

@B6 & @GuySmiley. Hi guys.
The board is made as a single fin. I’ve not ridden one since 1979, had a beautiful Watercooled ( Kym Thompson) one back in the day with a kiwi fruit coloured translucent fin. You ride them further up the board than normal. AW

B6. I think not (travel), couldn’t live myself if it got damaged by others. Bob McTavish would not be impressed. The quality of the workmanship and glassing is like a paragon diamond. AW
Nothing less than a clean, lined up day on a surf coast or GOR point break for that one, Alfred.
perfect, AW. sounds right LD. If you got tinny, drag it around, fer sure.. if you got a 'couta boat, give it a home.
.. you have the equivalent of a byron bloke getting his hands on a jack pompei mordialloc clinker. It needs to live and breath in a certain place and call it home.
Imagine a knowing surfer feller, lining up a local forecast, silently loading that into their car at dawn.. beautiful.

Lostdoggy. Hi mate, hope ya well on this fine day.
Not wrong, I’m edgy , can’t wait for normal business to resume here on the SC if and when we get swell.
If that little girl ( La Niña) who has just started lingering around our hood ) would just piss off. AW

Basesix. My fellow historian.
My forebears as you know were all boat builders, fishermen and surfers.
You’ve just poked me with a name I know and my grandfather in Queenscliff use to talk about Jack Pompei , couta boats, my GF had a few in his time. AW
