Yeh, I could go and pick that up…..
…but I’m not gonna be surfing the waves that thing is built for.

A beauty!
And can I just wave the flag for occasionally riding an 8'+ gun in 6ft waves - or even just 4ft? It's good to feel familiar with your big board when it gets serious, and it's also pretty damn fun driving off all that rail. No flicky lightweight surfing.
Also very pleasant waiting way outside for 15min for a bomb that nobody else has the board or patience for, esp on a nice sunny day.
^^ great post @IB, nothing but fun as you say and especially so waiting for the waves way out the back.

Blackers. Hi mate. Bit of a coincidence, we were only just talking about Simon Jones.
I hope you get the chance to open this link.
It’s happening tomorrow, loads of stock boards shaped but not glassed, ample models and sizes available, as he says, it’s a chance to get a board in a short turn around period. All the best. AW

All good, thanks for thinking of me mate.
FWIW, the one I had my eye on was gone by 12:05, it disappeared before my eyes as I filled in the form............ :(

Blackers. Hi mate, sorry to hear. I missed out also, I was chasing the Fiji triple stringer 6’6” 37litre board, by the time I scrolled down 30 secs after 12.00pm and clicked on Add To Cart, gonsky.
I hope they do it again soon, appears it was very successful. All the best. AW

Udo. Hi mate. Thanks for eluding us all earlier on to the upcoming day (today)
So glad for SJD, nice hardworking honest family business.
What a great initiative , proved to be very popular. Many missed out, including me.
All good. Prices were very fair I think.
Was hoping Blackers would score what he wanted, alas, he missed it by that much. AW

This board had a minor restoration done and sold through the "Von Weirdos" website / surf culture emporium (Gold Coast) just short of 20 years ago. From memory, the original owner was selling off his collection to focus and help fund the publishing of his surf culture book Switch foot or Switch foot 2.
The editors name is Andrew Crockett - (Maybe he can shed some light on the topic). I am not sure what the deal is with the misspelling of his name - should be "Latta". It appears to be pen work under an additional "gloss coat" . You can kind of make out original annotation underneath. Anyway, this board stills goes really well and must have been like magic in the day.

Thanks for the flashback, still wear their Tshirts
some of brutus' no us visa sticks are finally trickling onto his site, I reckon..
That Hynd fish has been for sale for ages. I bought a Mitchell Rae flextail from them for an absolute steal 9 months ago and was still for sale then. Reckon they might drop the price by now if you ask!
Holy smokes, a beast.
Sad to see someone selling that - a real labour of love, by the looks.
Wow
that 10' near new gravelle is $800?
did I read that right?
Get yer skates on. Get seeds to pick it up fer you.
"That's just me step-up!" Lachie Rombouts
I’d buy that in a heart beat if there wasn’t a body of water between us. Bargain price for a board like that.
AB with age friendly dims.
Good deal on a Campbell bros bonzer.
Love to see an AB with a width that doesn't start with 18.
