it's a concern and when I lived there again in 2023 and did some uni lecturing in machine learning and quant finance I saw first hand how advanced they are compared to our universities, and how strongly both industry and govt over there back tech development. As you say it's history repeating but going on the evidence only one side is taking note of what happened in the past while the other is just chasing the profits. Another way to look at it is that one country has a long term vision while the other has nothing but 'let capitalism rip' and they're not even interested in doing anything beneficial for the country as a whole with the proceeds. You've at least got to wonder who's the smartest, China has pulled millions out of poverty and the US has put millions back in

The problem is that's just not true.
It can only be someone on a visa or green card that breaks the condition's that they are in the country under.
And if you come to a country and you are calling for the death of that country and supporting terrorist groups and stirring up civil unrest hatred and fear, esopeciually being a ring leader in things, then expect your arse to get kicked out of that country, no matter the country.
Although if you do the same shit somewhere like Indo you will probably end up in Jail, do the same shit somewhere like Iran or China and you will probably just go missing.
