Totally agree here. One road coming from Snapper/Dbah is causing major congestion also. Total waste of time and resources.

Imagine putting Police to proper use

The difference of expert opinion differs as to the topic.

Pro-vax vastly, vastly outweigh those against (to the point where hearing about a small portion of anti-vax medical professionals in the NHS is considered a 'gotchya' moment).

The issue of mandates, boosters, lockdowns and vaccines for children are subject to comprehensive debate among experts though ( & justifiably so).

I don’t have an answer either but I do know the answer isn’t to force people to have a vaccine they don’t want or need. Particularly when there’s a million odd infected vaccinated people to prove that the jab isn’t going to stop your mates from catching it anyway and it doesn’t prevent the spread.

It’s sad and unfortunate but that’s life.

It’s definitely not a justification for extinguishing the most fundamental human rights of everyone else.

Getting vaccinated is the current medical advice, issuing mandates moves more into the political sphere to achieve high vaccination rates.

The political decision is based on achieving the medical out come and is progressed if the mob think they get get elected again, note Morrison thinks the election is too close and it would be a net negative so he is not on board with mandates.

The states are more on board with mandates because that's where the bodies hit the ICU and elections are not immediately imminent (WA at least).

Clearly vaccinations are not keeping transmission rates low in the current out break variants as restrictions were lifted, they will have a effect still to be worked out but what is clear is the resounding success in preventing severe disease the current hospitalisation rate all be it out of control really is stunning.

At the start of the pandemic before any vaccine was developed experts were saying any thing over 50% efficacy would be a major success.

One of the two mates was told at the start of the pandemic by his specialist before vaccinations were developed that if he got COVID was to contact him not to go to hospital especially if hospital was full as he would be listed as don't ventilate basically some one healthier would take his place.

Long way to get to the point but the high vaccination rate now give my mates a chance at getting treatment (still their out come isn't great) as there will be room for them in the hospitals.

"I refuse to put on snow tires. It’s my car, my choice, my freedom.

The effectiveness of winter tires is not proven, except in studies funded by manufacturers and reported by the government!

My neighbor had an accident even after putting on snow tires. Thousands of insurance claimants last winter blamed their accidents on snow tires.

Some drivers are already on their third set of tires, which proves their ineffectiveness. We don’t know what they are made of, really.

The tire giants conspire with meteorologists to scare us with wintry weather predictions, most of which never come true.

If you use winter tires, the government will track you when it snows. I mean, it even snows now in Dallas’s Dealey Plaza! When has that ever happened?"

Now imagine those snow tyres only kinda worked when driving in a straight line but as soon as you turned a corner your car slid out. You replace them 3 times and still can’t figure out why they are sliding out.

You now know they don’t work but your employer says you must use them or you don’t have a job.

Now they want to put the same faulty tyres on kids bikes in the middle of summer.

Cool story bro.

If your snow tyres reduced your chance of a slipping out an icy road from 0.006% to 0.003% , though there was a 0.06% chance your snow tyres blow out at speed and send you into oncoming traffic…..how supportive of mandated snow tyres would you be?

But I ain’t gonna check. My Blowin tolerance is about 2 posts per week. Is there a vax to strengthen one’s tolerance of absolute drivel?

Id expect what is happening is those people that show up as vaxed in stats are technically vaxed, but most likely older people who got two jab's of Astra over 6 months ago and havent had the boster yet hence with how the vaccine efficiency wears off when they get covid now they are almost as vulnerable as an un-vaxed person of the same age (and possibly overweight or other health issues)

There would be a lot of older people like this, while ironically people like myself and younger people in lower risk groups only had their second shot late last year so are much more protected.

Its kind of scary in a way because many older people might think hey I'm covered no worries, while in reality unless they get a booster they aren't covered anymore and are quite vulnerable (more so to Delta, but still if old and overweight etc then even Omicron)

Raw data isn't really helpful. Relevant interpretation can be made using relative frequencies because the results are then actually comparable.
Current NSW fully vaxed rate is 93.7%, so 937 per thousand people. That leaves 63 partial or unvaxed. Total population of NSW over 16 (eligible for vax) is about 6.5 million, so we are talking about 6 million vaxed, 500k other.
So of the 684 hospitalizations, 67.4% are double vaxed (=461 people) leaving 223 unvaxed. So far looks like it is a "disease of the vaxed".
But considering the relative frequencies, your 223 is out of 500k (=0.045% of these) and your 461 is out of 6 million people (=0.0077%).
Small numbers both ways no doubt, but it still indicates that you 6 x more likely to be hospitalised if unvaxed or partially vaxed.
Not sure whether you want to get snow tires or not, your choice.

The only logical reason to vaccinate children would be to stop transmission to immune compromised individuals, seeming as this vaccine does not do that it’s all risk and no reward.

It’s not logical to vaccinate your kids for illness, doesn’t matter how much fear the government is trying to install right now.

Potential harming kids for zero benefit, you’re one sick individual Vic. Even roadkill is on the fence about vaccinating children.

My kids also eat healthy, prob the healthiest out of any kids I know. Installing healthy habits instead of dodgy vaccines that line the pockets of already very rich people.

But hey, there is no money in healthy people. So I must be wrong according to your expert$

Geez, that's fucked up.

What do you expect when they have a General in charge of the vaccine programme, just saw him on the today show, he said he is ok with it if they change the 8 weeks between shots for kids to 5.

Madness

So the anti-vaxxers are already spreading bullshit about 5-11 year old kids dying and getting seriously sick from the covid vax.
You can expect that bullshit will be published on swell net by Burleigh, blowin, and the other anti-vax idiots in 5-4-3-2-1...

Fuck off roadkill, the 5 year old child had serious underlying health conditions. Don’t just read the headlines old man.

As a father of 3 kids under 11 my compassion metre is not low.
It’s fucking tragic that any kid dies and I can’t imagine what the parents are going through.

However if you read past the headlines it would appear that this child died with covid not from covid.

MSM and government need to be held accountable for their actions

Genuine question to those against mass vaccination: would it have been better to just mandate the elderly/disabled (~18% of Australians) /immunocompromised etc. to isolation for 2-3 years while the strong & healthy fight off this thing with our immune systems?

Collateral damage to the anti vaxers...they don't give a fuck as long as their selfish ideas are not impeded.
We get vaxxed to protect the old and young and vulnerable.
