The Israel Palestine problem solving thread

stunet started the topic in Tuesday, 17 Oct 2023 at 10:45am

Because the world would be a better place if leaders only listened to Swellnet commenters, we've created a forum that makes it easy for them to gather our thoughts.

Today's shit talk is tomorrow's policy.

Well if they hadn’t attacked and murdered a bunch of innocent Israelis, none of the Palestinians would be dead.

Hamas and some Palestinians are 100% responsible for deaths in Gaza.

Let's not forget Hamas wanted this they have been preparing 18 years for this, you dont build the tunnels they have for no reason at all, if you dont want a war simply dont start one, its all on Hamas.

Ha ha now Roadkill is right wing?....what cause he support Israel's right to destroy Hamas?

So Biden is now right wing too?

BTW. Where do Hamas and the majority of Palestine people fall on a political spectrum?

They sure aren't left wing, i mean for god's sake having a beer and being gay is illegal and women's rights a dirty word, im ten times more progressive than them.

I guess its all a type of Islamic fascism.

Let’s not forget that October 7 was a well executed surprise military operation by Hamas that unexpectedly happen to have innocent Israeli civilians in the vicinity, most of which were actually killed by Israel’s initial response, yet Israel’s overall response is not a military operation at all but an intentional indiscriminate slaughter of innocent civilians and genocide of Arab Palestinians.

Or, 15 out of 17 judges on the International Court of Justice agreed that "some Israeli actions in the war against Hamas may violate the Genocide Convention".

And even the Israeli judge agreed that Israel should do everything “within its power to prevent and punish the direct and public incitement to commit genocide in relation to members of the Palestinian group in the Gaza Strip,” and furthermore Israel should implement “immediate and effective measures to enable the provision of urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance to address the adverse conditions of life faced by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”

Yes - Hamas wanted to provoke Israel and derail the Arab Israel peace talks, hopefully bring othetr groups into their murderous plans

The only real way to repair this is to convince the UAE somehow to run Gaza as a demilitarised zone and thereby use the incredible amount of money Gaza gets to rebuild a new type of Dubai on the sea.
The people in Gaza would love it, Israel would love it and anyone who wants to be in Hamas can move to Iran and plot against Israel there where the trouble makers live. The Gazans would become quite wealthy in a short space of time. Everyone wins.

No the only real way to repair this is the destruction and dissolution of the state of Israel, the genocide of all Jewish people, and then the dismantling and dissolution of the British colonial empire including the US and handing of land back to the “indigenous” people living there prior to the Industrial Revolution and expansion of the British and European empires…and then the full restoration of China as the Middle Kingdom with all other peoples as subservient communist tributary states under the central control of the Chinese emperor…

I’m going to revisit this lie/line peddled here by the FRWNJs that just because Hamas started this war all deaths are down to them and by inference or otherwise the IDF are excused from being held responsible for any and all atrocities committed and the rules of war (oxymoron) somehow don’t apply.

Further, the other lie peddled here is that Israel is innocent of any wrongdoing leading up to the conflict and that the Palestinians have been fairly treated since the ‘67 war by the Israel government; ie Hamas have emerged in a vacuum.

Both lies reveal in their believers an extreme ideology where the opponents to their favoured side aren’t worthy of being treated like humans, that misery or death is their fate ; now what does history tell us about political or religious movements like that … and speaking of history those rules of war (oxymoron) that are being fragrantly broken now shouldn’t be so easily dismissed given the 100s of thousands killed in past conflicts when rules didn’t exist.

Come on cockroaches/wombles refute ^^^

In Guys mind

FRNJ= Israel and it supporters.

In reality= Israel and people like me support, one of the few democracies in the middle east, one of the most multicultural countries in the middle east, highest level of women's rights in the middle east, abortion legal, drinking alcohol legal, bars & night clubs even gay clubs, people can openly be gay, SSM recognised, a thriving LGBTQI community, complete with yearly mardi gra type parade, pot even decriminalised for social and medical use (leader in medical cannabis), gun laws not disimilar to Australia, although expect that to change as realistically people living near borders should have guns.

Meanwhile Guy and others defend a state/territory that hasn't had an election since 2005 and even then those who won(Hamas), murdered some of the opposition, being gay is illegal alcohol illegal, death penalty still regularly applied, women's rights, almost non existent.

It's all been said before Guy, so i will put it a bit differently this time.

In the 80s Israel gave back the Sinai peninsula to Egypt in a peace plan, an area twice the size of Israel and rich in oil and gas, a lot to give up but it created a reasonable level of peace between the two neighbours at least by middle east standards.

In 2005 Israel did the same thing with Gaza, i guess hoping for the same outcome, but the outcome was totally different, not long after the deal, Hamas attacked Israel and have attacked Israel on and off ever since.

Both Egypt and Gaza made choices, but very different ones, unfortunately Gaza/Hamas choose war and destruction instead of peace and working towards prosperity.

Hamas have been planning for a war for at least 18 years that they wanted, its not a war Israel ever wanted and as they have shown with Egypt they can keep resonable civil relations if the other side does.

Yeah you will say, but what about the blockades and restriction's put on them and bullshit about Gaza being a prison, these things came latter a result of the fact they choose war, any country would do the same, even Egypt blockaded their border with Gaza, because they have had enough with terrorist.
