It should also be noted, through 99.99999% of human existence the idea of supplying your enemy with food and other supplies would have been viewed as absolutely insane and preventing food getting to the enemy including their civilians would have been used as a tactic of war to defeat them, and you can bet if we were in those times either the civilians would have turned on Hamas or Hamas would have been forced to hand over the hostages and surrender ending the war within weeks or months at the most.
