“When he thanked them for their support why is it you focus on the tiny minority who got into the capital building ?”

I would’ve thought the President should’ve of condemned the actions of this minority you refer to. Instead he simply told them “it’s time to go home now”. Trump doesn't care where his support comes from. Yesterday was yet another prime example.

Yeah Rabbits good call.

Politicians usually really , really , really care who enables them to gain power. Just look at our government and opposition here in Australia with their complete reluctance to accept donations from China and transnational corporations who live to rape Australia for profit whilst paying no tax.

Great point mate. Only Trump ever does shit like that. Joe Biden would never do anything like that bloke.

Haha that's funny Andy. Spot on and very diplomatic.

I'm not sure what they hoped to achieve beyond getting themselves a few selfies in the Capitol and getting on the radar for the FBI to follow up on. Maybe they did believe that they could change the outcome, but in reality they only delayed the inevitable.

What is obvious is that it was allowed to happen, and you can bet that if all those 'white' folk were 'black' they wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the building.

My view on Trump hasn't changed nor has the target of my harshest criticism: the enabling Republican Party. The fact that the RP has not only tolerated Trump for 4 years but backed him to the hilt in each and every one of his abuses of office and even yesterday voting against the election results speaks volumes about the terminal decline of democracy in the so called land of the free. Bollocks.

Trump is a symptom not the cause ....... you know I was so happy when Howard lost that election and yet worse came after namely Abbott and while Morrison isn't an in your face arsehole he is just as conniving in pursuing the right's agenda. My point? who will follow Trump in the RP?

Edit: No Im not saying Howard, Abbott or Stale-mo are anything like Trump ok, that isn't my point.

I reckon we are all of us the victims of one of the most cynical propaganda and social engineering campaigns in the history of the world. At a time when economic inequality in the Western sphere is rapidly increasing and living standards are heading downhill we have been indoctrinated to argue amongst ourselves about racial and gender disharmony despite both being at literally historical high points throughout western nations and any other peripheral point of division possible EXCEPT for the one that really matters which is Labour vs Capital.

I got called a Nazi on here yesterday if you can believe it. This would never have been imaginable five years ago by anyone with a shred of sanity . I know that the vast , vast majority of those whom I debate with on here hold ideologies on so I which are mere degrees different from my own if at all yet we are set amongst infighting by the proxy team sports of the modern political system even though the divide between the duopoly major parties is razor thin and mostly down to semantics or fiddling with the fringe issues that have zero impact on the neoliberal consensus .

Divide and conquer.

Ask yourselves how Trump supporters had their images transformed from mid American blue collar workers who through no fault of their own had been politically discarded by globalisation into race hating proto Nazis who believe in white supremacy and a violent anti democratic militia.

Was this transformation ever real ? Of course not. It’s pure political propaganda which kicked off with Hillary Clinton’s campaign. When she went full Current Affair and started portraying underemployed welders and factory workers as deplorables.

Both sides of politics are just as guilty of this which refers us back to the original thought that there isn’t two sides in politics. The US vs THEM isn’t about Democrats and Republicans it’s about workers vs capital.

This right here Blowin, is a crock of shite:

'JQ - If propagating baseless conspiracy theories were enough to render a politician unable to sit in office then you’ve just excluded the entire DNC with their Russia collusion fantasy.'

Russia collusion is absolutely not baseless at all. If I recall correctly, the actions of the Democratic party at the time, met your standard to be called a coup (or an insurrection, I don't recall your exact language). Telling how different your standards are for Trump isn't it.

I don't buy your nonsense equivalence either. Yes both parties are bad and do a shit house job of representing the people. But Republicans are in a league of their own with their deliberate and ongoing undermining of the election for their own political benefit (not to mention umpteen other shitty things). This is NOT comparable to efforts to impeach Trump, it is NOT the same.

Blowin's picture

JQ - Why would our agreement end there ?

I can virtually guarantee you that most of the bad things you think about me are either :

A / Incorrect application of false stereotypes of the kind I referred to before ( Trumpist = Nazi etc )

B / The result of mud sticking from some of the flog contributors on here with their ad hominem lies.

C / Filling in the blanks in your knowledge of me with your own imagination so as justify projecting issues upon me.

I’m a blue collar worker who has no time for racism or misogyny and who tries his best to live with integrity yet I got called a Nazi on here yesterday and no one batted an eyelid . That’s how bent out of shape public discussion has become and I think that’s the result of a concerted effort to instill just that type of dynamic throughout Western nations.

Even yourself-who seems to be a pretty fair minded individual- has me labelled as some kind of representative of hate speech. It goes beyond just misrepresenting or misinterpreting what I say on here. I think it’s more illustrative of the division being fostered amongst us in order to keep our focus away from the real problems.

I think Trump should be kicked out of office for his reductions in environmental protections if for nothing else alone. I’m not even talking about climate change but purely his appetite for betraying the planet in pursuit of higher profits yet I’m still branded a Nazi when I say that a lot of anti trump stuff is political theatre.

Sypkan,

To break it down, lets be clear.

There's two parts to this, which are frequently blurred and distorted, including by you, to push your point.

There the integrity of the voting process itself, the collection and counting of the votes.

Then there's the integrity of the campaigning process, the rallies, the advertising spend, the information gathering operations on opponents etc.

These two are separate issues, yes they are related but they are distinct and separate.

I believe the 2020 election was just as legitimate as the 2016 one.

The part in question in 2016 was the integrity of the campaigning process, these concerns were actually genuine as several republican / Trump members were found guilty of breaking laws in regards to this aspect of the election. This is not a conspiracy, it is not baseless. It is well founded, grounded in fact and proven. What is unknown is the true scale of it, we're unlikely to ever know.

In terms of collecting and counting the votes, this was never in question in 2016, to suggest otherwise is a bald faced lie. Hillary Clinton conceded shortly after the results came in, Barack Obama was in touch shortly after to facilitate the transfer of power.

In terms of the 2020 election, I'd bet the collecting and counting of the votes was even more secure than the 2016 one, given the additional scrutiny. This is also borne out by the number of lawsuits that have been brought, ran through the due process in the courts and been shown to be nonsense.

Do not cheapen yourself by trying to conflate Democrats objections to the 2016 election with the Republican ones to the 2020 election. They are not the same.

which is a good response, and fair enough, but I just don't share your faith in 'the system', especially with the shitstorm that lead up to 2020...

but these numbers don't really suggest '...the collecting and counting of the votes was even more secure than the 2016 one, given the additional scrutiny."

"...As detailed December 7 on page 23 of State of Texas v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State of Georgia, State of Michigan, and State of Wisconsin:

Specifically, there were 1,305,659 absentee mail-in ballots submitted in Georgia in 2020. There were 4,786 absentee ballots rejected in 2020. This is a rejection rate of .37 percent. In contrast, in 2016, the 2016 rejection rate was 6.42 percent with 13,677 absentee mail-in ballots being rejected out of 213,033 submitted, which [is] more than seventeen times greater than in 2020.

In other words, despite the number of absentee ballots increasing 613 percent in 2020, the rejection rate for erroneous absentee ballots, compared to 2016, plunged 94 percent.

Supafreak: interesting link - are you saying that the female was “executed” in Congress or were you just copying the script from the site itself?
TBH, I’m surprised that there weren’t more deaths inside the building from the Capitol Police. I’m sure if they weren’t predominantly white ‘protestors’ there would have been a lot more.
Indo D - your comments above areridiculous. If for no other reason than there would have been mass slaughter on the entrances to the capitol if they’d been black. Pure and Simple.
Back to the video: Do you think that the doors may have been barricaded for a reason and a police officer posted to stop anyone from breaking through the barricade? Most likely because they were evacuating Congressmen / Senators down that hallway. Looks like the cops in the background were blocking a stairwell too. (They looked well out of their depth too). If anyone ‘invading the swamp’ didn’t think that there was a real possibility of violence then they’re deluded.

Oh yeah, a cop has died as a result of injuries while doing his job protecting the capitol. Surely the killers are guilty of some kind of insurrection related violence or terrorism. Violence with a political objective?

sypkan both you & Blowin spin me out with weird impossible stats.
tbb respects yer research anomaly & would never doubt your source.

Here's tbb's thought process...Georgia absentee mail ballots was a late change.
Only because tbb had written a fair bit on Trump's changes, less so the Dems.
So kinda knew that sypkan's stats were extreme but 2020 was about records!

Both Parties try to introduce subtle changes that catch out a lot of voters.
So when a change occurs it does loom large...so that backs up sypkan.
eg: Capital Font, Extra marking, Spelling, Wrong Address...knock out poor voters.
Most Law changes are designed to mislead or knock out weakest link in each state.
That is tailored to Trailer Parks or Reserves or Ghettos even poor, frail & weak.

This is the Law change that twisted such a crazy Vote stat as sypkan reported.
Georgia's Magic Machines. (Example)

June 2020 Absentee Vote Scanners
Any Mark larger > 35% = Yes Vote
Any Mark less < 12% = No Vote
Any Mark between = Review
Resulting in a Large Number of Absentee Votes Error (Complaints)

11th Sep 2020 (Important - This is the date of the Machine change)
{ New rule updates what counts as a vote for Georgia absentee ballots }
https://www.gpb.org/news/2020/09/11/new-rule-updates-what-counts-vote-fo...

tbb includes all dates to show changes were made 'before enrolment', not late! Ok!
That's important, as no one knew what demographic or amount of Absentee votes.

Georgia Dates Only...
15th Sept 2020 ( Earliest day to enrol for General Election )
5th Oct 2020 ( Last day for Enrolment )
12th Oct 2020 ( Early Voting begins )
3rd Nov 2020 ( Voting Day )

Nov 2020 (Tinkered in Sept) Absentee Vote Scanners
(Ballots also came with 'new / additional - Marking instructions')
Any mark larger > 20% = Yes Vote.
Any mark less < 10% = No Vote
Any mark between = Review
Resulted in a massive reduction of Absentee Vote Error (Less Restrictive)

Very big changes + clear instruction would see a validation of many more votes
Do not use > pen / felt pen / red ink
Do not > Circle / Underline / Checks / Crosses / Mark thru Ballots
Rules: Hand marked filling in the Oval, all else is invalid. ( A clear directive! )

tbb: 2020 Vote Teams worked long & on many initiatives to achieve record poll.
The reason being that 2016 election was a low point, a disgrace! Nerds stepped up.
Equally Trump fought to shut record voter access in Black & Indian communities.
Hold on! tbb is not saying that's a one sided affair...each play this game.
Pretty sure tbb could fill a Dems Vote rort list just as long as others presented.

We're all the wiser for sypkan exampling just how easily a state can flip.
Flipping with no obvious fault of either party but by "tinkering" a dodgy machine.
What sypkan presented can best be described as an anomaly by voting machines.
Yes! Crew are right...exactly what Trump has been saying!

Fair to assume the machines are being set to reflect a desired demographic.
Also fair to question any tinkering resulting in anomaly as presented by sypkan.

Colorado Youth vote was at the front end of Voter anomaly up 380%...(Nerds)
From Start Up Vote apps 380% > End Machine Counts 613% = 1000%
2020 shows its possible to Flip a County or State for a vote anomaly of 1000%
We may soon see that! None are flagging it cause it's brand new as read here!

This also shows how tech resulted in record results all round.
This leaves Trump & Republicans perplexed...but there it is > 1,000% flips.
It's not coming up as one Party or another but more where tech is applied.
US is applying Vote tech to Drive Thrus / Mobile Booths / Pads / Cafes...etc!
Enrolment was made cooler before wet sponges were tossed at Old Pervs. .
Basically if Vote Tech came to Oz the same weird flips would startle us.

It's not clear on result or even which Political Party benefited as both spiked.
Not even read the detail into Trump's complaint...( Timing / Foreign machines?)
Crew can read above on Trump's chances of overthrowing considered change.

5th Jan - Sen' Election, unsure if same settings are on machines > counting now?

Anyhow! More of that weird stuff from the crew has us ahead of the game! Cool!

Ive seen similar comments on social media and it seriously does my head when people say absolutely crazy stuff like this, do you honestly believe what you say???

Truly scary if you do, and goes to show how twisted some peoples perception of things are.

Anyway history proves you wrong over 50 years ago armed black protestors entered the capitol to protest and they were not shot and this is a very different time where people of colour were treated and looked on in a very different way than today.

"Armed Black Panthers in the Capitol, 50 years on

It’s largely forgotten now, but 50 years ago, it created a national sensation. It even caused the National Rifle Association and Ronald Reagan to back a gun-control bill authored by a Republican.

Tuesday is the 50th anniversary of the May 2, 1967 “invasion” of the state Capitol by two dozen gun-toting Black Panthers. Carrying rifles, pistols and shotguns, and wearing dark glasses, leather jackets and berets, they marched up the front steps and into the Capitol to demonstrate their opposition to an anti-gun bill by Oakland Republican Don Mulford (1915-2000).

Yes I do believe it, and yes I’ve read your source. There are some similarities between the two events but far more differences. The incident you mention was a protest march, that didn’t breach barricades, did not result in property damage, and was resolved without violence.

Your comment that I took exception to was: “USA is just super lucky she was white and that guy who shot her black, can you imagine what would happen if that cop/guard was white and she was black.“

The cop that died was black. *edit - cop wasn’t black, misreported * There’s also footage on various news outlets of a black cop being chased in the Capitol by a crowd of ‘protestors’.

Have you spent any time in the US? I’ve lived there, and spent quite a bit of time there on business. My comments are based on rational assessment, not social media hype.

Well put eta, Indo, I think you're taking a particularly one-eyed approach here. As eta said (via your link) they didn't break n enter 50 years ago, they did the other day.

I definitely think there would've been a lot more police violence had these protestors* been anything other than Trump supporters, mainly because they would have had loads more police there.

Will be very interesting to see what comes out regarding the clear failures of police and security to prepare properly, such an obvious and egregious failure.

Im reluctant to post news links to news sources I don’t know much about (Slate are moderate left leaning, I believe) but regardless, the photos show that this is somewhat concerning (have seen some of the sleuthing on Twitter too, seems they’ve identified quite a few people already).

Yeah Ben, been off grid chasing bazza’s and my breath for a few days...:) Back now. I’ll keep my powder dry until I catch up on a few things. What I do know is the music hasn’t stopped yet.

Good to hear you got some nice waves, been hearing some decent reports from a few spots out yonder.

Happy to cut to the chase for you: Trump has already conceded.

Ben - Isn’t that the Antifa bloke who was getting booed by the crowd when he first started breaking the windows to get in ? There’s a video getting around showing crew booing and telling the Antifa clown to pull his head in. Looks like the same bloke.

Here’s where you tell me that you’re conspiracy theory is more believable than my conspiracy theory because......?

I imagine it'll stand up to scrutiny just as well as all the other 'identified' antifa members hey Blowin.
