@VL

Never write Hanson off, she went to jail for god's sake and still came back to politics.

But if this is the end for her, well you cant exactly say she didn't last, surely she must hold some sort of record for a women in politics in Australia? on and off it's been about 30 years or more.

Obviously being a minor party she is never going to have the power to make real change, but she has still put sticks in the spokes when she can and brought so many issues to the fore front, i don't agree with everything she says or supports, but as far as strong women go, they don't come any stronger, if she was on the left she would be a god to you people for her strength and never say die attitude.

When you see people like Pater Garret go into politics and achieve little in a party in power and basically get chewed up and spat out in a short period, you understand how cut throat politics really must be.

US Postal Vote Rejection (tbb Part 3)

Vote Fraud (vs) Voter Rejection (vs) Disenfranchised Voters
Democrats say 99.9% clean (vs) Republican say 20% Vote Fraud is standard.
How can both be right....
Wiki uncovers 20% Vote Rejection but laws only allow Courts to prove 0.1%
tbb backs up wiki 20% avg are denied voting...but Dem's don't call it fraud?
Yanks know it's central to 2020 election but it polarises the parties.

Open democracy favours Democrats but a secure democracy rewards Republicans.
Voting must be & always will be a secure democratic right. (So Dem's zip up tight.)
Democrat voters are least likely to comply with stricter secure Voting reforms
Republicans are losing support but can even up vote by 'enforcing' democracy.

'Electoral Reform' is now a cereal for Republicans.

*Poor are homeless...in such are transients...Postal Voters > Drift to Democrats!
2017 Trumps Crosscheck Robot exterminates transients before reaching the booth.
Trump needs the Federal Judges to uphold Voting integrity by feeding his pet robot.

*2020 Scrutineers must keep 6ft apart so only ruling authority can allow checks.
Republicans have 50,000 Voting Marshals that can exploit covid SD.

*Mail Out
Postal Ballots were not received Wisconsin & Georgia > (12 hr Poll Queues)
Texas (Over 65yrs only) Black / Latino growing counties = highest Poll shut downs
Trump just limited 1 postal drop off drop off box per county.
Texas responded with 127,000 Drive Thru Ballots...(Ruling?)
https://www.npr.org/2020/11/01/930052598/republicans-seek-to-toss-out-12...

Voters Request Ballot is altered or forged (eg: A pen mark or feint print, typo!)
Voter is sent misleading Poll advice.(Oz Fed Election Libs > AEC Chinese Voters)
Auto mail out ...(eg: Governors allocate extra ballots to known vacated / deceased.
States restrict Postal Mailouts per postie (Large poor groups will always miss out)
Accidentally Misplaced ballots purposely rule out Provisional replacement. (Get it!)

*Interstate
California has 9 printers...
One other company serves Ohio + Pennsylvania
Nov 2020 Elections (tbb followed up this coy wiki tip off)
This year Maryland held first & worse ever postal ballot...is now running 11 states?
'80's Republican Sen' Taylor is printing 36 million ballots 214 counties for 11 states.
Half are Postal Ballots. Taylor designs & controls the Mail outs in swing states
Taylor owns Star Tribune / NBA Team + has record bans for breaching Contracts.
Perfect Guy if you wanna rig up some Postal Election Ballot deals. ( Trust Me! )

*Intimidation (Wiki Vote PM Howard as largest destroyer of Electoral Process)
Oz PM chooses date but rigs deadline to suppress 100K youth vote for self gain.
Biggest loser bastardises Commonwealth Electoral process to steal from Oz kids.
High Court defended our Commonwealth Kidz banishing Oz #1 cowardly traitor.

*US Intimidation
Voters hand over their Ballot (eg: Parents / Boss ) tbb: thinks Prisons / Aged Care.
Voters are paid to Vote for in a certain way...(eg: Think Community Hall trade off)

June 2020: Social Media : Mississippi Election Commissioner" ( Gail Welch )...
Go Gail : "I'm concerned The Blacks are having lots of events for voter Registration!"
When the Election Commissioner says that...you'd best be avoiding Poplar Trees!
Gail's excuse only poured more fuel on the flames.

Georgia bans any community assist (interference) of seniors or ill in voting process.

*Mail Pick up
Trump stacked all Postal Governors who can fade Postal Marks to void Ballots.
Ballot collectors fail to deliver likely non partisan Postal Mail (eg: Racial Profiling)
Bulk site collection scaled openings > Simply marking by pen invalidates Ballots.
Simply by posting 2 or more votes per envelope voids the lot. (Silly Staff.)
15 US States do not verify Ballot address

*Signature
36 states have no process over forged signatures...(16 states may verify )
Voters signature is missing or does not match (eg: 2018 (experiment- 55,000)
Voters signature does not match (2018 exp-67,000) Fraud is expected by reviews.
Signature Rejections soar to 20% of Ballots by Race / County / State .
Minorities hyphenated, suffixes & punctuations names get corrupted on Data Banks.
Young women also add more Hyphenated - Names + Van (-/?) address changes)
Wisconsin just had 250,000 voters bumped off for not updating addresses
Poor Youth can't do posh cursive signatures...[ POOR KID ] Signature [ POOR KID ]
[ POOR KID ] has his poor vote declared less posh...[ INVALID ]

*Late Post (eg: 2018 Philadelphia Experiment 114K Most misplaced / 21% +4 days)
2018 Post (4 + days -Rules out same week + w/e invalidates 40 states cut off count
tbb: 20% of US votes mailed within 10 days from poll is invalidated in 40 states.

*Dumping
Trump reported minor (Self ?) ballot dumping in Winsconsin, N J, Pennsylvania.
These are pretty big States for such a trivial complaint & that's the very reason.

*Full Tilt..."Coronavirus cases surge in swing states"
26 Oct Trump sends 1,730,000 (False Positive Tests isolate swing state Colorado)
https://denver.cbslocal.com/2020/10/26/colorado-hhs-coronavirus-antigen-...
Now 110,000 cases (Each dorm or aged care > Quarantined) approx 1m voters.
Colorado has by far the highest cases with lowest death rate (re: False Positives!)
These fake tests show Blacks as positives & are isolating them from poll booths.
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/10/27/coronavirus-cases-surge-in-swing-states-...

*The Count : Republicans have 50,000 marshals + 8,500 lawyers * 3rd party counts
Trumps challenges are already a mile long ...
Nevada Clark County (Signatures), Texas (Drive-Thrus), Wisconsin, Iowa (Absentee ballots), Minnesota / *Pennsylvania / *Michigan late mail, Philadelphia / Milwaukee, North Carolina.

Democrats had less luck in court > Arizona...

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette comes out for Trump:

https://www.post-gazette.com/opinion/editorials/2020/10/31/editorial-don...

Go Penguins! Seriously, the editorial mentions the importance of the large Shell plant along with the economic record. Over in the West, latest news is BP Kwinana is to close:

https://www.watoday.com.au/national/western-australia/hundreds-of-jobs-t...

A bit sad here, as I did confined spaces clearance work there. Where will WA's fuel come from? Better hope those Straits of Malacca remain open. What could possibly go wrong?

As a footnote, this is an absolutely excellent series that describes just how easily and quickly things can go to shit in the latter region I mentioned. This part of history suffers from a dearth of scholarship, and it is perhaps more relevant to us in 2020 than other campaigns that get all the study and books published. The 4th one, southern Sumatra and Palembang, is for the large refinery, too.

Interesting links, again, VL.

No mention in the article about the environmental concerns of some of the policies so I guess it depends on what importance is placed on those aspects. Agree with other parts of the article though. I still think he’s done too much damage though.

When reading up about the Whitlam dismissal awhile back, not having any real knowledge of the event, I was surprised to see that one of the reasons that sparked it all was the establishment of the Petroleum and Minerals Authority and the rabid opposition to it from the vested interests and opposition party.

Imagine where we would be today if the Authority had been successful. A partially nationalised petroleum industry might just have been beneficial after all, not too mention what to do with all those extra royalty payments from gas and mineral extraction?

Exactly Fliplid, Rex Connor, Wollongong boy, Minister for Minerals and Energy in the Whitlam administration, who even in the early-70s loathed the US mineral companies making enormous profits from Australian resources while sidelining national sovereignty, so he sought to partly nationalise the industry. We now know how all that went for him.

Sometimes it's nice to daydream and ponder what Australia would be like if that project got up. Indeed, there are a few countries around the world we can look to for starting points.

Anyway, as always, the party of small government and big business (in each other's pockets) saw the end of that dream.

Ironically, just two days ago I got an email from LNP minister Andrew Hastie bemoaning BP shutting Kwinana. A goverment who prides itself on being 'small', whose only instincts are the free market and the profit motive, now trying to throw guilt on a multi-national abiding by those twin instincts?

You gotta laugh.

Imagine if the diesel rebate offered to resource companies was explicitly tied to using Diesel refined in Australia.

Profitable and sustainable onshore refining and a secure domestic source of energy.....can’t have that can we !

Going to be especially awesome when our DIESEL ( !!!!!!!! ) powered submarines finally get delivered in 2040 and we discover that the only way to protect our imperilled diesel supply lines during conflict is with the submarines than might have no diesel to operate. Great thinking there by government.

Apparently it’s possible for Trump to win via the electoral college even if Biden wins the popular vote by 6 pts! (I have already acknowledged the huge flaws in the electoral college, nonetheless, it is part of the constitution and at least for this election could still decide the result, whether it’s right or wrong).

Florida and Pennsylvania are the main battleground states. If Trump wins these two states he stands a good chance of winning. Given Biden’s rejection of the fracking industry, I think Trump stands a real chance to take Pennsylvania. Florida I am not so confident but I don’t know a lot about Florida, I wouldn’t write it off in any case.

Again it’s speculation but I think Trump will win more votes from the Latino and African American population than in 2016 which could go some way towards a Florida win. Again I am not an expert on this stuff it’s just my opinion.

Many pundits are saying that this will be an election decided by middle aged white women and I can see some truth to that.

Still I maintain that the Trump X factor, the silent supporters, is massively underestimated.

What is almost certain (IMO again) is that the result will not be known until days after the election. California, hardly a battleground state, but still, allows 17 days! for votes to arrive by Mail post Election Day and still be counted if post marked with the election date. https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/election-2020/election-myths

I can imagine Trump CLAIMING victory on election night, considering the rate of registered republicans to vote in person is around 2 to 1, much higher than the Dems who are favouring postal votes, which indicates that the Dems should be stronger finishers as the postal votes come in.

One thing is for sure though, the result almost certainly won’t be black and white on election night which will just add to the tension and speculation on the ground in the states.

I hope the American people are preparing themselves to remain calm and not get sucked into any rioting or violence, especially as the votes are still being counted. Fat chance but one can hope.

It’s all about to unfold anyway and if my speculations prove to be false, I will admit the error and applaud those who got it right. Until then though, to avoid fence sitting and for a bit of fun, I am going to back the roughy and predict a Trump win via electoral college. (If this is the case I would be getting out of Portland unless you want to watch the city burn). Anyone else brave enough to have a punt? make it interesting!

Forget demonising the GOP for a second we all know all that stuff. Perhaps try to reach an informed decision by checking the form of the DNC. Why not check out Andrew Coumo’s handling of the Covid pandemic, it was him who sent Covid patients into care homes, not Trump. Doesn’t matter though Coumo’s numbers are attributed to Trump. Or investigate the record of NYC mayor Bill De Blasio. Or check what some of the DNC leaders on the west coast have been up to during the riots, law and order took a back seat to their ideological concerns. That gives voters a lot of faith their rights are secure.

How about the NY state abortion laws allowing full term abortions for viable, healthy children. My brother in law was born at 24 weeks and is a big strong intelligent man. My sister in law just gave birth in her 26 th week of pregnancy and her child had just come out of the incubator. Some of these laws allow for babies to be terminated AFTER BEING BORN. I am a supporter of women’s right to abortion in the first trimester but this is some sick shit.
“RHA will expand abortion past 24 weeks through birth, make abortion a ‘fundamental right,’ and prohibit all limits, which Roe vs. Wade did not do.”
These laws have been passed in NY, New Jersey and perhaps Illinois (not sure)
But yeah carry on with the Trump slagging, the Dems are squeaky clean.

The GOP is gonna be cooked either way. Nuked if Trumpy gets up this time.

They've been on a lowball trajectory since Nixon in 68. Watergate hiccup aside.

The 'Reagan revolution'...the Tea party insurgency...the low road to the painted corner rattiness of Trumpy.

If some numpty on here thought Ted Cruz was the Republican voice of sanity & reason, then the Lincoln Project et al are pretty much doomed from the get-go. Bye bye ye olde GOP. Like the Whigs of old, they're going...going...gone.

Even if they're 'WINNING!'

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2020/10/12/inside-the-lincoln-project...

"Most of the Project’s core founders are in their fifties and came of age under Ronald Reagan. They were drawn to Reagan’s optimism and to his belief in fiscally responsible government, which, as Galen points out, “doesn’t necessarily mean lower taxes—it means being smart with taxpayers’ money.” Socially, they favor individual liberty: worship however you want, marry whomever you want. They support responsible gun ownership and a judiciously interventionist foreign policy. Weaver served in the Air Force, and Wilson worked in the Defense Department, but all the founders revere military service. In 2015, Trump disgusted them when he mocked McCain—a fighter pilot who was a P.O.W. during Vietnam—by saying, “I like people that weren’t captured.”

After Obama won his second term, the Republican National Committee commissioned a study that became known as the “autopsy report.” The country’s voting population was diversifying rapidly, and, the report said, young voters were “increasingly rolling their eyes at what the Party represents.” It noted, “Many minorities wrongly think that Republicans do not like them or want them in the country.” In a recent book, “It Was All a Lie,” Stevens writes, “How do you go from dedicating a political party to expansion and inclusiveness and two years later rally around a man who calls Mexicans ‘rapists,’ and called for a religious test to enter the United States?” He goes on, “For decades, conservatives attacked liberals for living by ‘situational ethics,’ but the ease with which Republican leaders abandoned any pretense of being more than a whites-only party is the ultimate situational ethic.” In January, Wilson told Trevor Noah that Trump “has broken the Republican Party—it doesn’t believe in anything.” Stunningly, the 2020 Republican National Convention put forward no new platform, signalling that the Party’s sole position was fealty to Trump."

Correct I made an error, the abortion laws in NY and NJ don’t allow for abortions on ‘partially born children’. 18 US code 1531. Thinking about it makes me feel sick.

All of us, our families and friends were at one stage a 39 week old foetus. At this stage we could see, hear, dance, feel pain. If you have seen a child being born, and I have had the good fortune to see three births and hold my child the instant they were born from their mother, you would know without a doubt that they were already sentient prior to their first breath. I know this because I have looked into my own child’s eyes as they are talking their first breath. To think about aborting a baby in this stage of development frankly sickens me and if the Dems want to pass laws like these, shame on them.

If the ALP had half a ball and weren’t totally up to their necks in Chinese compromise they’d wedge the LNP by declaring support for throwing tariffs on iron ore and metallurgical coal exports to China straight to 60 percent minimum.

Introduce it as a way to raise government income whilst simultaneously sending the message to the evil empire that we aren’t their vassal state bitch.

So in other words sickaz, your hatred of the DNC is based on a complete mis-interpretation of abortion laws they passed, but you still hate them because "To think about aborting a baby in this stage of development frankly sickens me and if the Dems want to pass laws like these, shame on them." Which is another complete fabrication.
You are one seriously confused dude sickaz.
Here's a tip sickaz, read the actual laws, not some pathetically inaccurate interpretation of them by religious zealots. It makes you look a lot less foolish.

Really sickaz?
No context, no history, no understanding of the actual law being passed.
You do realise that third trimester abortions were legal in Virginia prior to the bill being passed? Please tell me you know that.
"Virginia House Bill 2491 would roll back a number of requirements, including a 24-hour waiting period and a mandate that second-trimester abortions take place in a hospital. Always something of a long shot in the Republican-controlled state legislature, the bill may now be doomed by the national firestorm surrounding it.

The controversy has centered on a provision concerning third-trimester abortions. Under current Virginia law, in order for a patient to terminate a pregnancy in the third trimester, three doctors must certify that continuing the pregnancy would likely cause the patient’s death or “substantially and irremediably impair” her mental or physical health. The new bill would reduce the number of doctors to one, and remove the “substantially and irremediably” qualifier — abortions would be allowed in cases where a mother’s mental or physical health is threatened, even if the damage might not be irreversible."
You hatred of the DNC over third trimester abortions is base on a staggering level of ignorance. Third trimester abortions were also legal in Virginia when the republicans controlled the state mate.
PS Loved the way you couldn't back up your NY bullshit so flipped to Virginia. Any port in a storm eh buddy? Not fooling anyone sickaz.

How misleading is the media.

Three times now ive seen that Trump car footage on TV (just saw it again) but they only show the footage of the actual cars bumping and don't show that the Biden car is in the Trump cars lane.

Guy on TV claimed the Trump car was trying to ram the Biden car off the road.

No wonder Trump keeps calling out fake news, the scary thing is, if you hadn't seen the whole footage you would just believe that's what might have happened when if you watch the whole footage, it very clear thats not the case and the Biden car is legally in the wrong.
