Hey burleigh, you absolute fool, A booster shot massively reduces your chances of being hospitalised for covid, freeing up beds for others who need them due to trauma or illness. The more people get boosters, the less chance there is of elected surgeries being cancelled. So yes burleigh, getting boosted does protect the community. Being an anti-vax clown impacts everyone.
And of course, what happens with the next variant? Have you ever thought that it might be like the Delta variant where vaccines played a crucial role in limiting it's spread? Of course you haven't because you're too stupid to understand complex issues. When faced with topics that are above primary school level, you leap straight to silly one liners and petty abuse.

“A booster shot massively reduces your chance of being hospitalised for covid ….if you’re under 60.”

Sure.

Give us an estimate, in absolute percentage terms, of how much you reckon a booster shot reduces hospitalisation for an under 60.

Make it a 49 year old surfer who already has a 99.995% chance of avoiding hospitalisation for covid without the booster. Give us a number estimate of this massive reduction.

a lot lot different in my book

Course it's different in your book. It seems you see this as real democracy's last gasp before being swallowed by the woke left socialist vaccine lovers.

Funny you call it political opposition? I thought it was 'the people' of all walks of life and spectrums, uniting for freedom?

Are you essentially saying that want unregulated spending, and manipulation of public opinion to suit political motives? The far right should be free to gather as much funds as it likes, using it to warp the perspectives of as many of the working class as possible, then send them into battle against left government's? Even though they could just, you know, vote them out at the next election?

The best way to refute a lie is to put it under the microscope.

Can’t wait to hear the numbers on this massive reduction. So massive that the third booster will prevent the inundation of our hospitals with extremely sick sub 60 year olds……who for some strange reason don’t appear to be inundating the hospitals yet.

So the Canada protesters have been cleared out. Some of the protest "leaders" have held a press conference encouraging everyone to come back and continue protesting. Same old "They can't stop us, we have the right, it's not constitutional" etc

I look at it from the point of view of the residents, the people who live and own businesses where these protesters gather. People trapped in their own homes, businesses unable to do business. All because of a vocal minority having a hissy-fit, throwing the toys out of the cot. Would all their supporters still be as supportive if it happened where they live? Want to go for a surf? Well you can't, the roads are blocked. Need to go shopping for food? Well you can't, the shops are shut as they can't get stock in, or staff in to work. Need an ambulance? Well too bad, they can't get to you. Want to sleep at night? Well too bad, we're gonna blow our horns and play shit techno music at full volume 24 hours a day until we get our freedom. Cunts

I can't believe I need to explain this to you blowin but here goes. Nobody knows what will happen 3 months down the track. We could have a new variant that is as deadly as delta and as transmissible as Omicron.
Anyone with even the most basic understanding of crisis management knows you plan for the worst and hope for the best. I'm pretty sure you haven't worked out this concept yet. There's a reason why the medical professionals are encouraging boosters, but you, an ex-chippie with no medical training at all, think boosters are stupid.
Boosters are not perfect but they are the best defence against new outbreaks / hospitalisations in the next few months.
You also clearly don't understand that mass vaccination programs have two aims. Protecting individuals and public health in general. You're so selfish, you only look at individual protection.
My son just got his HP vaccine. He has no chance of getting cervical cancer but he gets the vaccine to protect others. This community protection concept is common across most vaccines including the covid one. You're either too selfish or too stupid to understand this.

Yeah it probably is a step too far.

But then again, I think the unrelenting attack on a secure, stable democracy such as Canada under the guise of 'fighting for freedom' is also a step too far.

All for a vaccine ffs. Or a mandate to get a vaccine to do a bunch of things which would generally be much safer if you were vaccinated. Blah blah blah I've said it 100's of times already, the vast majority of experts and people with actual credentials are behind vaccinations. Mandating may not be as widely supported but it is supported, and it is something we've done for decades with other vaccines.

The way these protests are being orchestrated and funded, and the way they're effectively radicalising people is certainly a problem. If there's free avenues with little or now regulation (such as gofundme), then it's really up to the country's leadership how to handle it.

I'm not versed in the Canadian constitution at all - but it's this simple - the press is free, voting is still anonymous, and you can't simply be jailed for speaking out against the leadership.

Come back to me when the election is cancelled. When all except state media is shut down. That's the time to take it to the streets and fight for what you can.

that's misinformation. trying to compare one to the other is misleading.
There is the No Jab, No Pay policy that restrict welfare payments dependent on if a kid has had their vax and there are state policies that exclude kids from childcare (not school) if they are not up to date on their shots. Its possible some healthcare works may require to be full vaxxed but I'm not sure on that?

can you tell us a Australian example of people unable to enter a venue (unless its real estate yaaay), travel interstate, or lose their job etc cause they weren't vaccinated ?

If someone else had said that you say it was "bullshit, racist, lies supporting grifters rehashed from the murdoch press".

When faced with topics that are above primary school level, you leap straight to silly one liners and petty abuse.

stay in your dudgeon and you will be ok

alot of people in hospital are in there from diseases/illness bought on by getting 3 jabs in 9 months or bad reactions, more than with covid.

got some evidence there, just to back up your claims?

do you? go check the hospitals toadmaster, get yourself checked while your there too

I am not the one making the claim..you are, can you back it up?

nope you are claiming the opposite, proof?

I didn't claim anything...I just asked you to give evidence to back up your claim. Which you can't, so revert to the usual idiot tactics to avaid actually having to back your claims up.

The burden of evidence lies with you.

"and it is something we've done for decades with other vaccines."

that's misinformation. trying to compare one to the other is misleading.

Fair enough Bonza, it may be considered a stretch, but i don't see it as too dissimilar.

The vaccines we give kids are for fairly well know, under control diseases though. Covid is new (getting less new), and became out of control.

This is also a black swan event, so using the same business as usual rules is not really applicable.
