As a healthy and fit 49 year old my chances of being hospitalised from covid are about 0.05%. The RRR means that the vaccination MIGHT take my chances of hospitalisation to about 0.001. That is the difference the vaccine makes to a healthy strong person on average.

It's not a conspiracy theory to suggest pharmaceutical companies are more interested in vaccines and boasters than medication that may help, it just makes more business sense, and that's what they are a business.

Most people are going to get vaccinated and i think people should get vaccinated, but there is many people that choose not too, so in my view people should know about and have access to medications that helps if they get Covid, not providing this information and not providing supply is more dangerous.

29 (70%) are not oxygen dependent
These patients are saturating well on room air,
and do not present with any respiratory symptoms.

6 were vaccinated

Of 9 patients with COVID pneumonia

1 is a child
Only a single patient on oxygen was fully vaccinated but the reason for the oxygen was Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

In-hospital death rate
10 deaths in the SBAH/TDH cohort in the past two weeks,

Five deaths were in adults over 60
One death was in a child in whom the cause of deaths was unrelated to COVID.
There were no COVID related deaths among 34 admissions in the paediatric COVID wards over the last two weeks.

@indo , it’s very interesting reading different takes from various doctors and scientists on how omicron is performing . Some are saying it’s mild and less virulent than delta , while others are cranking up the dial on how bad it “ potentially is “ with no data to back up their fear campaign . Moderna and Pfizer have opposite views on how effective their vaccines will be but governments are full steam ahead with boosters and vaccination for 5 to 11 year olds regardless. Australia has given the green light for Moderna boosters for 18 years old and up , while 6 European countries have not recommended it at all for under 30 . Makes you wonder how health agencies can differ so much on the same drug.
