Looks really interesting Udo, but i reckon what would make it fly is the straight rail more so than bottom contours. Add a bit more rocker, thruster set up, and cut off the nose square, and you've got a hpsb machine for good waves. (Then you've also got a Tommo Vader type thing), but i really like that short length straight rail concept, wide tail wide nose, for me, better than a fish. But i reckon you could have a flat bottom and just play with fins for hold/different feel.
The tucked under rail edge - he says it gives more hold and, if I'm not mistaken, Geoff McCoy says a similar thing that water 'grips' (I don't know if that is exactly how he explained it) a curved edge. Thus more hold in sucky waves. Yet most boards have hard edges at the rear.
Thoughts anyone?

Is there a link to this?
$1650 for a second hand board?
Tell him he's dreaming.
One of Jim's 'limited edition' boards, eh?
Think he makes a run of them every time he gives up shaping.

That’s two desert storms

His annual John Farnham farewell tour.
Do you get a free JB certified tin foil hat and an anti vax conspircey book with the board
Does JB still shape them or is it a ghost shaper at the factory ? I’ve got a 7’ hit the road from 5 years ago , good board but doesn’t get any use in tweed.

Last time I checked he had separate list of options of prices and hand shaped by him at the top of the list.
The ones available in Oz were ghost shaped on a Byron factory for a while and now down in Sydney at Rhino I think.

The number of Aussie surf icons that have dived headfirst down the anti vax freedom rabbit hole is bloody embarrassing.

Udo, you should provide a board finder service. People put up what they are looking for and you hunt out the best options for a fee, as you seem to be all over it!
Udo….what do you reckon I’d get for a 6’2” ghost in decent nick?

Its a shame you didnt Gell with it.
Cheers mate.
This guy has slowly been dropping the price in $25 increments, down from $200.
Now only $50 - someone put him out of his misery. Looks like a fun board.

I’ve got a Wizz fish and it’s fucking amazing. If that board wasn’t too small for me I’d be on it in a flash. That’s the bargain of the century.
Wonder if he ever tried a different fin set up
Fantastic price incl RM quad fins. Fins alone must be easy $200. Heard great reviews on the Seaside.
slight rant based off very honest advertising above
I tend to notice that latest X model shortboard is shared as a link, it looks amazing, incredible even, it gets bought and is the second coming, then 6 months pass. After this, the new Y model shortboard gets shared and posted, it's quite a different shape but it's phenomenal, the messiah and by the way X model would stall a bit and was nervous on takeoff. About 6 months later, the Z model gets mentioned, it seems to be a modern update of the X which is remembered fondly, and Y had this flat spot in acceleration and tended to push water getting in a little. Furthermore, Z has +/- 1 fin in the setup.
Would it not be better to develop a shape, change one small thing about it, and optimise it over a number of boards until it is completely dialled in to your surfing?
Anyway, each to their own and their money. All this is before trying to optimise fins to a shape which is it's own kettle of fish (inspired design)

I spotted a second hand Seaside in the local shop and nearly committed. It was a lot more expensive than the one above and in the end I got scared off by the concaves. It would probably go alright , but my brain just couldn't compute. The older I get, the more simple I need things to be. If interested, start at around 4.00 minutes in.
Dale Wilson gun. Good price for a lot of board.
