ooh, soft spot for HD/HR, they are so nice in Prem form! The 2sp auto and 186 getting peak torque at 1600, so relaxing...

OK, put on the spot for some content, it's a cheap laugh but beware the perils of riding these things (the poor dog at 0:30!!!)

JellyFlater. Hi short lister. Hope you’re well.
Can you help me out, bit emotional at present, all choked up inside, I made the cut and I’m holding back the tears, mostly because I didn’t get an elephant stamp.
I’ve donned my spectacles, have looked and read closely between the lines, can’t seem to find @Indo anywhere, so…………does that me he’s NOT funny, thought-provoking, inspiring and entertaining?

It was a media distraction from the real issue and sadly that’s what flies in Oz now.

He declined to meet the organizers demands to agree on 5 points that was a condition of him speaking.I listened again, but i think you need to go listened to it again.
Albo gets up on stage and he says
"we did ask to speak myself and Katie, and we were told that was not possible"
He completely lied and she called him out.
HE NEVER ASKED TO SPEAK, THEY ASKED HIM TO SPEAK.
THEY NEVER REJECTED HIM SPEAKING, HE REJECTED SPEAKING.
BTW. Twice in the interview it says they only wanted him to commit to ONE demand (not five) five was addressed to him when in the crowd
They offered Katie but she also wasn't able to commit to anything.
Basically what Albo and her wanted was to be seen there and to be seen to be supporting the movement they wanted the publicly and photo op because its a female vote winner.
Before albos srage appearance he was mingling with the crowd, smileing and hugging and selfies galore.
What a total prat, a nation wide demo and this fake turns up all smiley and selfies the same with A.S..
When he took the stage there was a loud cheer of approval from the front of the crowd, obviously his support crew but a bigger rumble of disapproval from the real demonstrators.

Come on, SR, even you don’t believe that.
Both are terrible politicians and lack empathy and love the spotlight. But you only need to go back and see the vociferous posts targeting Morrison on SN to know there is no comparison, it doesn’t even get close to equal.
Morrison was a special kind of weirdo and Albo is fast catching up. In fact our quality of politicians is getting worse every election cycle.
Morrison/Albo on par with Trump/Biden.
Thank heavens Morrison can't make a comeback.

If i was to evaluate them both on my own personal opinion @roady, i'd say Morrison is a smarmy snake that has an overinflated ego and delusions of grandeur, cares little for the battler, lets his weird religion guide his decision making and would slice his grannys throat for a portfolio and extra power.
Albo, on the other hand is a good enough bloke that shows the common traits of someone who's been in politics a little too long for their own good. He's got a good heart underneath it all.
My opinion.

Oh, you read The Australian too..?
Mate, you're a kitten being led around by a ball of wool. They type this, you think that.
Also, to give some sort of context, during his reign Hawke was lauded for the amount of advisers he had, the consensus being he cast his intel net far and wide, a necessity in a complex world.
Ultimately however, the number doesn't really matter - can be two, can be ten, can be twenty, they can be specialists in a field, or generalists across the landscape - they all still report to the head adviser, who then reports to the PM.
Standard hierarchy, same as any other organisation or department.
Maybe you're surprised to learn things work that way? Don't worry, The Oz will be along shortly with some more confected outrage to get your juices flowing.

I basically agree with your Morrison take. But I don’t think Albo is any better Albo seems more interested in the trappings of the office than Morrison ever did. Albo is just as likely to slice granny’s throat for extra power.
Same old same old.
Hope you are getting a ton of good waves in that special place you are at.

Kind of agree with you there.
I'm sure Albo has his flaws and to reach the position he has, must be a bit of mongrel as well.
Other than that, he seems like a decent human, something I could not say about Morrison.
The media have a kill Bill agenda going for Albo it seems led by the Murdoch publications and seems to be starting to work with some of the population, who to steal Stu's quote.... are like kittens being led around by a ball of wool.

I thought about that post afterwards and in many ways you're right, it's hard to think of too many politicians over the last couple of decades that haven't succumbed to and become part of the shit show that is Australian politics.

The whole circus of the pile on on Albanese, did he lie, did he ask to speak or was he invited, the organiser dressed like a carpark attendant making demands on a prime minister then throwing a performative tearful little tanty and running off to Ben Fordham. The Stokes/Murdoch/Costello media response, the ABC parroting them, The predictable headlines from the Australian.
Another important national issue hijacked in an effort to undermine the ALP and deliver government to the leader who didn't even bother to show up, who has no policies other than nuclear power that he knows will never happen, who is nothing more than a criminal front, a 'street boss' for the robber barons, industry lobbyists and billionaire classes determined to keep robbing this country blind.
This shit just keeps repeating itself.
It's why we can't have nice things in Australia, why we never seem to get anywhere.
What should be happening in relation to this issue is a bipartisan approach, above day to day politicking. Dutton and the PM should have appeared at that rally together, they both should have spoken, they should have presented as united in seeking solutions to this most grave and important issue, a powerful statement of unity and support for victims and change.
That would have helped Dutton's standing with the electorate, a show of leadership and humanity from a man lacking in both in the eyes of the public.
But no, Dutts was a no show, the usual bullshit continued, battle lines drawn, political attacks, nonsense.
Another woman was killed by her partner yesterday, there will probably be another today or tomorrow.
I watched the whole extended footage of the rally, plus Ms. William's posts. I listened to the 2GB interview.
I've been critical of Albanese on these pages plenty of times but for the life of me can't fault him for his actions or statements on the day. Ms Williams is not suited to the role she undertook. She came to the matter of Albanese appearing with antagonism that seemed misplaced to me. Albanese is not to blame for this problem, he appeared in good faith wanting to be constructive. This woman was just exasperating, determined to cause conflict. Making demands of a PM before allowing him to speak, interrupting him and accusing him of lying when he was speaking, a performative cry in front of the crowd, running off to the likes of Ben Fordham to attack Albanese. Just fuck off. That is not seeking to address the issue, that's self indulgent rubbish, playing into the hands of the LNP. She needs mentoring if she wishes to keep fronting these things. I doubt there will be many in Government willing to give her a seat at the table after her actions at that rally.
Those here who joined and are continuing the pile on and the "get Albo" because "he lied" crap would find fault with whatever Albo said or did, and they aren't helping the issue either. Seems they are more concerned with attacking Albanese than the victims of DV.
It's not about the PM, although people look to him in a crisis
Nothing was achieved for DV victims at that rally or in it's aftermath.
Just politics as usual. Why we can't have good things happen in this country.
Let's see what the special cabinet meeting comes up with.

Lots of us engage here, because 'other media' is so boring and cyclic and tail-wagging-dog-ish. Sad when it is echoed here, whatever people's alliances.

“the organiser dressed like a carpark attendant making demands on a prime minister then throwing a performative tearful little tanty and running off to Ben Fordham.”
Yeah..what was the victim of DV thinking…she should have dressed to impress adam. And crying? And a Tantrum? What a sook she is.
For all the talk about DV and doing better…all I see at the moment on social media is a woman being bullied. Mainly by men who are loudly telling everyone what they think.
Who really gives a fuck what she wears or how she presents? Real victims telling real experiences is what counts and hopefully what people listen to.

No, you just dived in boots first to the now-disproven lie about Albo. Gave it the oxygen it needed, the oxygen that should've gone elsewhere.
Now pretending to take the moral high ground when you're just another man telling others to stop while you talk out both sides of your mouth.
So adam was correct in saying / victim blaming
“the organiser dressed like a carpark attendant making demands on a prime minister then throwing a performative tearful little tanty and running off to Ben Fordham.”
and it doesn’t deserve being called out? Or are you happy to give him a free pass?

Yeah thanks for replying optimist , I actually wasn’t sure if you were serious or not . My preferred leader in a few more years once he has more experience would be Jason Clare . I like the way he handles the media and is very good in debating the opposition. He seems like a genuine guy and has the Aussie larakin type of humour . Chalmers I hope is the next leader he’s a smart man and would be far better than albo . I can’t see labour replacing Albo anytime soon unfortunately, he’s done a reasonable job but there’s lots of room for improvement around tax , gas, and cost of electricity .
Jessica Watson for PM.
