Possibly if you were here for an extended time, you’d see things differently. From experience here but more so seeing the US from another country’s viewpoint. My old neighbor has disappeared, I hope to aged care but I fear to the grave, was from San Fran and she stated the US was fucked. A lost country because of politics.

Seems to me Biden was on the right track with the semiconductors. Don’t know why he hasn’t been making this point more. Evidence of his policy to reinvigorate Amercia’s manafacturing base. Modern plants cropping up in the likes of Ohio and upstate New York. As opposed to Trump – a lot of rhetoric and a tariff on Chinese steal which has caused more job losses in businesses that set up around cheap imported steel than the job’s created. Guess it’s a hard sell when the overall policy’s called the Inflation Reduction Act.
Instead it was all me, me, me - on Putin, the Middle East, Ukraine, Europe, China and Nato. I’m the man pulling the strings, on top of the situation. And only I can beat Trump. Which I suppose is aimed squarely at the ears of the neo-liberal neo-con democratic political elite, media elite and donor class – intended audience of this interview - that are sitting around the modern day equivalent of cigar smoke filled mahogany rooms deciding his future.
