Yeah so ... this is all playing out just how it was planned to. And if you truly can’t see it you need some serious help getting head out of sand .
The “floydemic” was planted for the sole purpose to divide , distract and elicit further military control. Not just in the U.S but all around the world . We have 1200 Us troops sitting up in Darwin waiting for the shit to hit the fan.
The Black lives matter group is affiliated with the Australian Communist Party .
Stacks of concrete bricks were placed in the streets of n.y every night .
It was all planned and paid for . Please do not be fooled by the main stream narrative.
VL , Snuffy Smith.
Apart from abusing people in the forum, any thoughts / suggestions for us as a society to move forward in a more positive, harmonious way?
cd. Firstly more people need to hold racists to account. The commercial media need to stop giving racists dogs like Hanson a platform. Media companies need to de-platform their racist commentators like Bolt and KAK. People need to vote out racist politicians, and support politicians who support multiculturalism.
Australia needs leadership on this issue like we saw with Whitlam, Fraser, Hawke and Keating. It's going to be a long fight to dampen down racism in Australia. 11 years of Howard laid some deep roots.
"The standard you walk by is the standard you accept", and I'm not going to accept the racist shit blowin and co spew on this site without a response.
"We have 1200 Us troops sitting up in Darwin waiting for the shit to hit the fan."
Well the shit must hit the fan at the same time year after year because this is the time the US troops come to Darwin year in year out. It's certainly not a one off. And they are "sitting" there at the moment doing their 2 week COVID isolation before the training exercises begin.
And VL, do you ever stop? You're like that record that gets played to death that everyone stops listening to.
What garbage Vic
Those prime ministers did little to curb racism, racism was much worse in those eras' than it is now, most people have completely different attitudes now to back then, Australia is more multicultural and tolerant of others than ever even in regional areas.
I know everyone here doesn't like our high immigration rates, but the reality is racism in Australia has been reduced due to immigration from countries like China, India etc, Howard era had high immigration rates and IMHO was the era where we saw the most change.
Im not saying it was because of Howard himself i don't think a prime minister plays much of a factor either way unless they are like Trump perhaps, and there is probably many factors at play like the internet making the world smaller and media, but immigration is also a factor.
The biggest way to combat racism is through interaction with other ethnicity's and cultures, this brings understanding of each other, generally speaking most people are good people, when you met and work with someone from say China or India or Africa etc once you get to know them despite looks or culture you understand that they are just like yourself, you share you joke you become friends, next thing you know you are friends with people of different ethnicity's
This is what combats racism "understanding"
You can see this effect in reverse in places like North QLD where the people there have little to no interaction with different ethic community like Chinese, India, Africa etc so without the interaction they lack the understanding of these ethic groups so have a fear of other ethnicity's.
"What garbage Vic
Those prime ministers did little to curb racism"
I can only assume you're not a very good student of Oz history, ID. Look up Whitlam and Victor Lingiari or Fraser and the Vietnamese refugees.
Indo-dreaming, I agree with many of your points re the reduction of racism in Australia based on better understanding, but the racists in Australia are now much more radical.
Openly neo-nazi groups are growing, fascists are doing speaking tours in Australia, and we have some genuine racists nutters in parliament. The level and content of online racist groups is truly disturbing. When cunts livestream murdering 50 people and get support for it online, we need to be really careful.
The nazis didn't start with gas chambers. They started with hate speech and rallies. That's why I don't tolerate racist shit no matter what. It leads the country to a very dark place. If blowin's opinions get traction Australia ends up like the USA with a bunch of racist dogs happy to turn their radical ideas into radical violent crimes.
All i know is through the 80s and 90s people were much much more racist than now.
The biggest change i have seen in my life is from the late 90s onwards.
Perhaps the change was just as big back then(wasn't alive before 74 and too young to know to ascertain point), and to be fair i guess its just hard for myself to imagine some things that happened, like indigenous people not being allowed in bars or not being able to vote etc so yeah there had been big change before, but to me things in the 80s and even 90s seemed pretty racist, just the language and attitudes, stereotypes, jokes etc that now are not accepted by 99% of people.
I honestly cant see how things can be improved much further, i think we have passed that line, but yeah being a white guy i can only go on what i see in society and media around me or what my ethnic friends say in their experiences are etc..
Personally i think many of the problems related to to race now come more from the media and even the left, using race as click bait, or for virtue signalling purposes, which ultimately is damaging because it creates division.
We have seen that this week in the USA and even media trying to stir up race issues here.
I read a good quote this week.(i saved it) sums it all up for me.
Whoever wrote that doesn't have a very good grasp on the meaning of corrupt.
Yeah well maybe corrupt isn't the right word, but i get the point.
I can understand though how the black community think and react the way they do/did though.
Ive seen it with my Asian wife.
At times we have had to deal with someone at different times that is a rude complete prick with attitude.
Her being Asian she assumes they treat her like that because of her ethnicity.
While i have the advantage of knowing they are just a prick of a person that doesn't treat people very nicely, because i know they aren't being racist to me.
I think this will always be a problem, i cant see a solution to this.
A similar example is if someone was staring at you.
You would just think why the fuck is this person staring at me what's their issue, but if you were say black, you would be thinking they are staring at me because im black, you would only think differently if the person staring at you was also black or if you were in a country where everyone was black.
Hey Indo not really into insults but your a cock.Whats the infatuation with thinking I'm someone else.Mate I just made a statement about people on here being out of tune with our first people and you past it off with calling me someone else.Kook
The big difference between now and the 80&90s is the internet. Back in the 80s the racist gronks were limited to their location. Nowadays the extreme right is a global movement, so it's about holding the line and making sure the online hate doesn't expand to on-the-ground action. The shit that goes down on 8Chan is fucking frightening.
We also see professional grifters making a living out of racism. This shit has consequences. I'm lucky, I don't pay the price for the racism blowin promotes, but I'm not going to sit back and watch that flog punch down.
The problem is, when racist dogs target Chinese and Muslim people, the gronks don't limit their bigotry towards Chinese and Muslim people. Indians and Jewish people get caught up in the frenzy too.
Indo-dreaming, As someone with an Asian wife, you have a very real incentive to shout down at all racism, no matter who is targeted.
All quiet on the regressive front?Heard a great quote a couple of days ago that can be related too some of the sentiment spoken on here of late."Australia in pockets are still stuck in a colonial way of thinking"now what pocket are youse?Feel free to let us know.
Hard to imagine Jim Banks would face book block some white guy calling himself Indo Dribbling?
Please change your profile name to Bule Dreaming.Thnx
This is epic. Peter Garret x Bad Dreems x Warumpi Band
@Vic
Ha ha....actually my wife is racist by definition, she hates Chinese and doesn't like black people, say's they scare her.
But the funny thing is she has a quite a few Chinese friends and one of her very good friends she works with is African with very dark skin (another friend from PNG), so go figure.
And she is also pretty anti islam/muslim, i never know how serious she is but she freaks out at airports when we are at the check in gate and there is groups of very islamic people in those robes or women in borqas, but again she has many muslim friends so go figure..
There is kind of explanations to these things though.
In Indonesia most business are owned by Chinese Indonesians so most Indonesians don't like Chinese, although the flip side strangely is they are seen as the most attractive people in Indonesia because they have light skin.
The black thing, im not sure maybe it comes from watching too many movies?
The anti muslim thing comes from coming from a catholic family in Indonesia in a very islamic city (Solo where the Bali bombers were from),
Plus at school she was expected to know a degree of Arabic and know all about Islam etc as most kids did because they had to go to the mosque or learnt at home and if you didn't know Arabic or all about Islam when it was integrated into part of schooling somehow she would be mocked and disciplined by the teacher for not knowing the things she was expected to naturally know.
@troppo dichotomy
Why not add to the conversation being discussed instead of pointless insults?

Not trying diminish your point Keano and they must never be forgotten so we can always never repeat the mistakes of our past, but which of those occurred in the last hundred years?
Not to mention the Bussell family (ie Bussell hwy , Busselton) killing group of aboriginals at Gracetown WA, back of southpoint. Been bad juju there ever since, lots of deaths , cliff collapse, shark attacks etc , untold history of WA south west
Zen....the stolen generation,
Don Dale
WTF
I understand that, truly I do and like I said it must never be forgotten. But, one can never look to the future if both eyes are constantly focused on the past.
Who the fuck was left to kill?
Zen, totally. And in what i do for a living my focus, particularly with first nations, is all about that. But I can't see a conversation in the public domain be reduced to a number like 430 and not politely remind those that for some unknown reason want to dismiss this number of the reality of our past.
And that 432 deaths in custody is from this generation. That's 432 people with families, many who have died just a few hours after being arrested. That's been the result of direct violence by the police, or through sheer neglect. Cops have a duty of care to the people they arrest, and when someone dies in their custody they've simply neglected their responsibilities.
That's a fucking disgrace, but you have people on this forum saying there's nothing to see here.
And while I'm ranting, how's the NSW government going to the Supreme Court to stop the black lives matter rally tomorrow. Last week the anti-vax nutters rallied, didn't abide by social distancing, and the police watched on. Gladys said FA, and next week she says people can go to the footy. What a fucking joke that state government has become.
The Coniston massacre, which took place in the region around the Coniston cattle station in the then Territory of Central Australia (now the Northern Territory) from 14 August to 18 October 1928, was the last known officially sanctioned massacre of Indigenous Australians and one of the last events of the Australian Frontier Wars. The number of Aborigines killed is disputed but sits between 31 (government records) and 200 (Aboriginal sources).
That’s 20 years after federation and most likely within the lifetime of our grandparents.
I dunno Vic- maybe they're worried that the rally will be hijacked and the high-end stores close by will be in for a good ol' fashioned ransacking?
Under the guise of black lives matter of course. Never forget why we're here in the first place.
I've never seen you as a racist blowy.
Egalitarian for sure.
Enjoy your long weekend, Ima workin'. Just about to take mutly out for his morning walk. It's shaping up to be a lovely day.
Why not say lets reduce deaths in custody full stop?
Why make it about race?
There is a narrative being peddled that the death rate for indigenous people in police custody/prison is higher than non indigenous people when compared to an equal number of prisoners like per 100
The reality is we know this is false, the stats actually show the indigenous death rate in custody is surprisingly actually slightly lower than non indigenous..
Its been like this for about 20 years, and before that both death rates back to at least the 80s were quite similar.
And both rates have been on a slight decline.
Why the change?
A large percentage of deaths are due to natural causes, in the past a decent percentage due to suicide.
You can safely assume the rate of suicide in custody have been decreased by simply taking away access to things that prisoners can hang themselves with and increased monitoring etc
Why is the indigenous rate slightly lower?
Good question, perhaps police and prisons are actually even more conscious with preventing suicides because of the common narrative or politics or to avoid media attention/incidents , or perhaps there is another answer?
Why not have the weekend off???
Every day constant back and forth insults and bitching. Always the same 3 or 4 people.
Do you seriously care Indo about indigenous incarceration rates or is it just a way to pass the time speaking about it on here?
It’s my own fault for reading it but fuck it gets tiresome seeing the same people throwing the same barbs day in day out
"I've never seen you as a racist blowy."
Really zenagain?
You think blowin isn't a racist, despite the fact he is a Trump / Hanson supporter, who bangs on about Muslims endlessly, blames China for pretty much every problem in Australia, makes up fraudulent statistics to support his idiotic opinions, despises immigrants and foreign students, and wants to round up South Koreans for immediate deportation. If that's not racist, WTF is?
Nope. Told you, I don't think he's racist despite what you may think.
Most people on here think you're a sanctimonious twat, or a wanker at the very least. I don't, I think your heart is in the right place.
Btw Goof- killer cover yesterday. Forgot to thank you for it.
@Goofyfoot
Don't you get frustrated when you see false narratives being peddled?
The fact that you write "Do you seriously care Indo about indigenous incarceration rates or is it just a way to pass the time speaking about it on here?"
Means that the correction of this false narrative has still gone over your head.
Why?
If you must know i have my daughter to look after for a few hours, its wet outside, i have time to kill
Indo, you may have already provided this information but can you cite the source(s) of your data on black deaths in custody. I’m also interested to know the information as it relates to rate at which aboriginals are locked up per head of pop.
Hoping your sources aren’t paywalled.
Yes I've already provided links but
Here is a graph for those who cant be bothered clicking
https://www.anthonydillon.com.au/single-post/2019/07/07/A-Closer-Look-at...
Links from within article (unfortunately one link from https://www.crimestats.aic.gov.au no longer works)

Blowin never picked anything you wrote as racist. Plenty of positive news about indigenous Australians but rarely are they told in the media, media focuses on stuff that gets a response or reaction and that is what you were pointing out.
To add to ID comment
Black deaths in custody, what about white deaths in custody? 1990 - 1995, 80 indigenous deaths, 368 non-indigenous deaths. Has anyone read about 368 non-indigenous Australians dying in custody?
Yes, indigenous Australians have a much higher incarceration rate so the question should be why are they being incarcerated more and lets fix that.
reporthttps://humanrights.gov.au/our-work/indigenous-deaths-custody-chapter-3-...
Even The Guardian reports that non-Indigenous people die in custody at a slightly higher rate than Indigenous people.
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/jun/06/aboriginal-deaths....
But at the same time, don't forget incarceration rates - although Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults make up around 2% of the national population, they constitute 27% of the national prison population.
https://www.alrc.gov.au/publication/pathways-to-justice-inquiry-into-the...
Also -
"In 1991, the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody (RCIADIC) found that the Aboriginal population was grossly over-represented in custody. It noted that ‘Aboriginal people are in gross disproportionate numbers, compared with non-Aboriginal people, in both police and prison custody'"
Clearly there're some massive issues that still need to be addressed.
Well that's a surprise and good to see.
Ive already given my opinion on why incarnation rates are higher on the previous page, fifth post from the bottom.
But i will give my solution again.
"Imagine if the government had a scheme where they covered the wages (or a set percentage) of an indigenous persons wage for a set period like 5 to 10 years this would encourage business to employe indigenous people lifting them out of social economic disadvantage, providing a work history and skills and help end current social economic disadvantage cycles, it would also ensure more side by side interaction between indigenous and non indigenous people which would help combat racism and bring people together."
But the problem even with this idea is it could still be seen as culture destroying encouraging people from their traditional lands or from wider family, it also could be abused because there isn't a clear definition of who indigenous people are, so even though it would be set up in good faith to help the most disadvantaged it could be abused by those that don't really require help.
We interrupt this program to take a short break.
(which reminds me of...)
It sounds great ID, but the reason it wouldn’t work is the same reason it wouldn’t work if I took your land off you but gave you a job to labour at for a lifetime, to buy it back
Have it cunts
