Had a chat with a fella connected to two Sydney unis and he was of the opinion the LNP hit job would target city universities and try and spare the regional ones owing to their contributions to regional economies. IMHO he should have come out straight away promising he would ensure all 4 police get charged ASAP and said they should be locked up, then he could have gone on a great speech about how it wasn't murder of a black man or attack on the black community, that it was a murder of a USA citizen and not to focus on race and call for public to keep calm and peaceful.
In doing so he would have kept everyone happy and have gained support from the African American community.
