Show us some pics of your new Webster twinny!

Ahh forgot groundswell, I'll put some up. Ordered some Britt Merrick’s new hand foiled fibre glass signature twin fin set from CIS in the states and had them shipped to my sister and then onto me, still waiting (on express priority international). Futures will be releasing them in Aust at some stage, Futures in USA have just released them.

Carload of fun
And a Xmas swell to play in

Not really, FCS1 plugs and only set up as a thruster

Fusion plugs...and add 2 more
Whats replacement cost for an 8'6 DS $1100 + ?

Fusion ahh, yeh must be at least that

Only one leash plug too?

Another leash plug and some extra FCS 2 plugs will get added.
Thanks for the heads up UDO.

Good Buying- To Add 2 more Fusions and another Leggie plug
Around $30 as a DIY job..

Yes,i mostly do my own stuff with poly so just a matter of buying some gear.Have a few other jobs to do too.

Can’t have quadzilla riding a thruster now, can we.

Ha Ha, I actually ride 1 ..2...3...4 fins at different times but the 3 is rarely a Trusta set up.The twin fin sides with a centre stabiliser is the closest I get unless the thruster fins are glass ons(mostly McCoys).

Quadzilla- Did you buy the 8.6 DS ?

Might be going to JBay in September this year
do i take my 38l 6'4 roundtail Pyzel Phantom or my 6'10" DS (45l) ?
Only want to drag one board around as we going to other places
Im 53 yrs old for context
Cheers

Take the phantom and if you get an amazing swell then buy something second hand and suitable for it over there.

I'd take the 6'10".
But that's just me.
Edit: I've never been to J-Bay but if the surf ramps up, you'll want the extra volume imo.

I’d take the DS. Better to be overgunned than under.

6’10
Imagine if it’s 6-8ft and you can’t get in to them on the 6’3
In saying that just look at the forecast before you go and if it’s 3 ft every day then you won’t be needing the 6’10

yes thanks lostdoggy, zenagain, etarip, goofyfoot
Its a question of correctly guessing the wave size I guess. Though i would love to let the DS loose at Supertubes on waves over 4-5 ft. If its performance on the sand points here is anything to go by.

Yes, expecting it too arrive pretty soon.
Very much looking forward to feeling the litres underneath my 80kgs.
Ive been riding a "cruiser" 8/6 with plenty of litres, so jumping on the DS shouldn't be too much different.

I wondered because the Gtree Ad is still up.

udo, I'd also enquired about the board a few week ago, and the owner said he gave priority to the above dude, so I let it be.
(I was clearly under-gunned on my 7'6" Rawson in the 4ft longboard waves at Nationals from Seth...)
But the owner contacted me on Wednesday this wk and said it wasn't sold so I can come and look at it, which I arranged to do today.
After seeing quadzilla's comment this morning, I checked with the owner but he said it still isn't sold and he will be waiting for me to look at it later today...
But it's looking a bit confusing now so I might pull out unless I can get some further clarification.

gsco...its yours go get it
I read it as Quadzy had paid for it in Full and was waiting for courier pick up or similiar ?

some clarification from quadzilla would be good.

had a look and turns out the board is too thick and chunky for me anyway

71 litres is Mega foam

udo wrote:71 litres is Mega foam
I had a sailboard back in the 80's with that sort of volume (75L).

What was 71 litres?
If you’re talking about the 6’10 ds doesn’t that say 41?
Edit… just saw the ad for the 8’6 further up

8'6 DS now Sold
Webby also does an 8.6 DS @64
Pyzel Paddillac in similiar Dims = 64 lt

The person selling the 8/6 has a job to do near my area.He was due to come down this weekend but Covid in his family prevented that.So I'm waiting to hear from him as to when he gets to my area.

My Tablet logs me in under my Facebook name.
So to avoid any more confusion, Ive been texting/gumtree messaging the owner since I posted about the heads up from UDO.
I/m not sure when the board will get here but looking forward to the 71 litres.
I may sell my present 8/6 that is a Pipedream thats 64 litres, depends how the DS goes in a variety of conditions.

If anyone happens to have a DS over here in NZ they are considering parting ways with Id be happy to pay a realistic price
Cheers

What size range are you after, and where are you?

Ideally the 6'8 to 7'6 range
I'm based in Mount Maunganui

My 6'10 and 8'6 are Cold Dead Hands territory. Sorry.
My 6'4 x 19 1/2 x 2 3/4 37.5L is available, though. I'm in Rags.

Thanks for the offer, I'm after one closer to 50L, Hopefully a strike across the ditch is on the cards later this year
Cheers

Good luck, bro.

Blowin did you surf your D.S. during Seth ?

Nah. The 6’6” was enough. The Desert Storm would have been great for getting around the huge lineup , batting current and chasing down waves but it wouldn’t have fit real well in the shape of the waves I was chasing. As soon as you’re riding you want something which can be pumped quickly in the tube.
There was a few rogue sets I’m glad I couldn’t get near with my smaller board! Sometimes discretion is the better part of valour….if you know what I’m saying.

Thats my new stick! Love this thing. Hopefully get it out in some swell soon.

Yew enjoy...How big is your other Black Railed D.S. - if it is one ?

Its a 7'2 thats 3 3/8 thick. When Webby recommended that thickness I almost fell out of my chair. I just had to get used to the top of the water feeling on the take off, but once I'm on my feet I havent had any issues sinking the rail. I guess being 115kgs helps with that as well

Interesting the 6’0, 6’1, 6’2 stock dimensions are all 2 5/8.

Anyone surfed a DS out at Sunset?
Seems like it would be made for such a wave……..
