Probably not big with the SN crew, but this guy is the real deal. With UK 1.5 Billion pounds on the pitch (Liverpool v City, great game also) he totally shone

Credit to TrevorMorgan,he has been in the youth coaching national teams for a while now and he is a smart operator. Also, this generation has had plenty of A league experience which a lot of the previous teams haven't had that level of football.

Later this year, Chile hosts the WC at under 20 levels we go there as a continental champion. Our players will be under the eye of the European scouts so I'm sure that some will get offers to go to a bigger league.

Saw the highlights. It seems like it was a good game, and the keeper made up for his blunder on the verge of half time with a mighty save in the penalties. Great result for all involved.

SOCCEROOS squad was announced yesterday for Thursdays game in sydneeee @ SFS/Alliance versus Indo, then a few days later versus China away.

Six new players which will be interesting. At the moment theres a few injuries so its not our strongest squad.

Coach POPAvic says he is confident the squad can do the job in both games.

Thursday is live on TEN 8pm.

Good insight on 6 new players...quadzilla...
If ya focus in further the midfield is also green...
An even closer look...
Makeshift low key on field Captaincy is now Popa's signature.
Very rare to read about Oz Socceroos Capt > just a post match 1 min scripted more to do...

Wot to make of Popa's Leadership Qualities in absence of Capt leading from the front!
tbb delved deeper for a reason...here's that reason...
Popa was A League Capt for Sydney United by age 20...
Popa is first and foremost a 12th Player/ but also Oz Capt

tbb earlier made this point from his start & thereafter...
Popa respects Maty as a Mentoring Match Play Line in the sand Team Capt.
https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/that-s-what-a-captain-is-socceroos-c...
But Irvine has a better Qualifying attacking win / scoring record.
But all see Irvine has severely reduced his finger pointing & waving...to micro managing.

But all see Popa increasingly captaining from the side.
Popa is very much the 12th man #1 Play Maker...this explains how he can gut the central park...
He takes over Irvine's Captaincy for all these newer players...

With a gutted new central Squad tbb naturally went looking for inspiration from Socceroos Capt...
Who is that & Where or What Position or relation to inspire 6 new key players
Now watch this trick...this is the ONLY news tbb could find on Socceroos vital Mysterious Captaincy!

Jakarta Daily
https://www.jakartadaily.id/sports/16214767732/tony-popovic-names-26-man...
* Squad is led by Goalie Mat Ryan (Most Capped 96)
* Capt Jackson Irvine (Top Scorer 11/76) Oz News : Our Lock or Scrummage Capt.

* None dare mention our actual real Socceroos Captain Popa!

By default Popa assumes Captaincy with each new Lineup...
Only he knows each week's new Game Plan...be too exhausting to keep updating field Captains...
On field Vice Captains have been reduced to micro managers...keep them in check > No directives?
Keen fans will see Popa calls injury to format a foul for a set play if opposing Goalie is playing forward.
Then run a thru bounce ball to catch defence out...kinda like an Wing Man Capt...here's the inside scoop!
Pretty much each big play comes from Popa's side hustle...forwarded to Lock Irvine or frontline...

Not sure where to research Popa's Hybrid Coach / Off field Co/Captaincy...but it is a thing!
tbb is only certain that Popa is the Play making Socceroos Captain...
But equally needs Maty to Continue Mentor Captaining to fairly validate his 100th Oz Trophy Game

Go ask media to interview "Which if any!" Socceroos Capt...Masked Mat or Jacko...Nope & Nope!
For the Record...Maty led Oz with Jackson to 4-0 Victory in Indo Jan 2024

Popa would step in...Wot ya wanna know...go thru me...leave my Vice Captains outta it...
Here's how Capt Timmy sees it...(Certainly looks like all are on Capt Popa's Team)
