Great result for the Matildas' finally got out of second gear! Canada was chasing the game from the start. Plenty of room for improvement with a couple of dodgy cross field passes when not under pressure and some occasional poor close control but overall an excellent team effort versus the Olympic champions.

Really well managed match by the Matilda’s, calm and controlled (mostly) in defence. We’re able to dictate the tempo of the game with Foord excellent down the left- almost unplayable at times. Raso again on point, Fowler growing as a player and the return of Kerr, all augur well.
No easy matches ahead but the Matilda’s looking like a mature balanced team…

Outstanding mental toughness from the Matildas...what a great game! Excellent defense and world class goalkeeping. Kerr had to drop too deep to get into the game, but a much improved midfield performance which had been our weakest link.
