The round ball game
Nothing like the oldest rivalry we have to get the nation fired up Seeds.
Can't wait!
great game, the aussies looked like they were playing the long ball too much at stages. nail biter in the shootout, keeper solid under pressure,
the poms will be tough to beat, but certainly doable.
When they kept the ball on the ground and pressed, especially at the start of the second half the Matildas looked pretty decent.
Albo should forget the day off...at least until later.
Instead think of the here & now & offer Oz Citizenship to Coach Tony Gustavsson.
This locks in Dual Citizenship 50/50 Loyalty for the Oz (vs) Sweden Final.
Swedish backpacker Tony has shown he's a natural Aussie & Albo should salute that with #1 offer.
No! Not a fast track or exemption > Indian Chick just got Citizenship in 55 days...
https://www.y-axis.com.au/blog/easiest-way-speed-australian-citizenship-...
All Albo has to do is have Oz back our National Coach to repay Tony in kind as one of us!
Yes! Now...get our Coach on side as 50/50 sure bet for the World Cup Final.
Knowing Tony is then equally representing King of Australia + King of Sweden.
Crew know this makes sense to get ahead of the game & Lock in Oz Coach...ONE OF US!
Please Albo...get up to speed & polish up yer Diplomatic skills & make it so!
Tony will be too proud to decline outright thus mucking up Swede's very clever Plan to steal our Cup!
tbb will guarantee that all Matilda's Fans will demand Tony becomes an Aussie...so why not do it now!
Albo...please stop being cranky & welcome Tony as an Aussie...too easy! All say Aye!
PS :
Swedes offer Tony the Moon & the Stars then we got Biggest Riots Ever!
Dream turns to shit with Byron & Bondi gettin' trashed!
Albo can end these Backpacker Riots before they flare up...by knighting Matilda Tony!
Oz should at very least offer Tony a beer...reckon that will win him over!

Jelly Flater. Joyce, definitely NQR. AW
@AW
It’s actually quite profound the amount of entertainment and the level of unbridled idiocy our so called ‘leaders’ offer without even trying ;)
- by the way, been following some of your stuff in the botany nerds thread. I worked in the field over two decades ago… your knowledge and information has been a pleasure to soak up. Been providing a few flashbacks of days gone by and the stuff about not just flora etc but the water birds to snakes to foxes is an admirable display of proper natural intelligence ;)
Certainly beats the shit out of whatever AI technology represents in terms of practical learning…
Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work !

Jelly Flater. Hi. Sadly, we (not me), vote these clowns into government depts. at Local, State and Federal levels.
Thanks for your kind words. Passion is free, contagious and fun. I’ve loved how engaged so many of us subscribers have become when relating to all the biological discussions of late, for me, its a reflection of who we are, basic animals.
This highlights the fact that as humans in a so called ‘modern’ consumption society, we are near or wholeheartedly removed from ecosystems of which we were once part of.
Topics like the many we have discussed on a daily basis of late arouse interest and seems to resonate with many. We have to ask ourselves why ?.
Again, its some kind of mental/visual connections to where it all started.
Today’s society is all based around consumption, borrowing large amounts of money, to hopefully build a ‘nest egg’, we work ridiculous hours, tired and warn out, irritable and grumpy, because our lives are exhaustive, for what, just so we can keep ahead of debt.
Our hunting and gathering happens at supermarkets and retail outlets, we try to make ourselves happy by incessant shopping on-line with a plastic cards etc. It’s all short term.
AI can go fuck itself. Another money spinner for a small few. An advanced society my arse.
Gina LargeArse has exclaimed today that Australia should go entirely Nuclear.
Two points
1. She must have some kind of monetary interest in it.
2. And who’ll take care of the mess (Nuclear Waste)
A not so intelligent society.
We have the largest thermonuclear reactor sitting way up above us on a daily basis. AW
A not so intelligent society.
You only have to look at the antics of the right to see that, fuelled by the BS put out by Sky News etc.
Sadly becoming more like that basket case the USA, every day.
Not sure if anyone cares but Spain v Sweden has just caught fire. What an amazing 10 minutes.
Wtf. Insane!
Yes. Exciting stuff
Great way to finish.

A Salty Dog. So true mate. We are just another state of ‘the States’. Look around us , it’s identical, cars bigger than we need, advertising emblazoned on every square and spare inch, the food outlets slowly permeating into our society, new intensive military agreements etc. ‘Here comes the Hercules, here’s comes the Submarines, sinking South Pacific dreams’.AW
Tim Cahill looked after Socceroos in Qatar rewarding our best result...
Oz fans salute NSW for takin' care of Matildas...excellent job guys!

Oz wide Codes / Sports venues & City centres at mates rates for Oz girls...bloody ripper!
Tillies til it's done!
England is a much better team. Let’s hope for a good counter.
Yep, England look good. Excellent passing game.
This referee is very soft, Matildas need to get rougher. English players are exploiting the situation.
Great game so far. Hopefully we'll see a classic aussie underdog victory..
The poms do look very solid though.
Bugger.
yup, poms are up, we're the underdogs, old school aus game!
signed up to 7 for this. great barbie post tbb.
Yep, they deserved it. Better organised team, they hold the lines, press collectively rather than individually…No unnecessary long balls.
Girls just not looking quite switched on. Almost like a switch was flicked in that last few minutes though. Gotta b a bit of mental fatigue from emotional week. I reckon theyll come out a different team after the half. Quiet crowd!
flollo wrote:This referee is very soft, Matildas need to get rougher. English players are exploiting the situation.
Definitely!
pommys dont mind a bit of push and shove and the ref needs to pull them up on it a bit more than she has.......but they have a better passing game and better positioning ........but we can still win !
hahahaha!
Incredible effort! Wow ;)
Giving it a nudge. Ace!
Keep pressing, let’s go!
Game changer…
Btw, I reckon the ref has been pretty good. Not calling the soft stuff.
Sad but England were very good. Kemp all time, strong, fit, always threatening.
Bummer! Ahh well. They gave us a mighty ride. Well played Matilda’s…
Yeh, really good game. Agree about reffing blackers. Good commentry too.. 'she knows' after kerr's second header. What was the ref chat in goals (crowding goalie..) about you reckon?
Better tactically, physically, defensively. Much better coach…Well deserved, there’s not much else that can be said.
Bugger. Didn't get the fairytale but won something beyond measure. So proud of those girls. Well played pommy gits!
Couple tiny chances missed and the backline a bit shaky, pity.
Freeride….. to borrow your reef shark analogy, that is also Sam Kerr. She floats around cruising and then, bang, she hunts down that ball and buries it!
Bummer but a huge success regardless. And that goal by Kerr was insane.
BTW there’s still a 3rd place game on Saturday. Winning a medal would be a huge success.
Fairytale 3rd Place finish is there for the taking.
Friday ...Brizvegas we back our Matildas bigger & stronger than ever.
World Cup is still very much Alive...our Girls deserve their Medal & need our support!
We front up for our Tillies til it's done...Go Matildas!
Channel 7 need to bid for Telly Rights for Play Off....
btw that Kerr goal had me having flashbacks to Brazillian Ronaldo in past world cups.
Epic!!

Haha funny as. The beetroot was here recently according to the local rag. Wish I was driving through town when the photo was taken.
Probably not big with the SN crew, but this guy is the real deal. With UK 1.5 Billion pounds on the pitch (Liverpool v City, great game also) he totally shone
