The coming outlook isn't ideal but there are a couple of fun sized swells with workable though tricky winds.

Into the new week and a fetch near the South Island over the weekend now looks weaker and more constrained than modelled on Wed but should still be capable of generating 2-3ft of surf for Mon, easing during the day. Winds look good with light NW breezes as a weak, troughy pattern hovers off the South Coast.
Generally speaking the leftover E’ly flow in the South Pacific looks weaker and less persistent and thus residual E’ly swell will likely fade in the mix faster than Wed’s notes suggested.
There'll be one window of OK waves for the South Coast this period before winds go back to the S/SE along with some fun W/SW pulses.

Make the most of the current surf on the exposed beaches and into tomorrow morning before things deteriorate into Sunday and early next week.
We may see a brief spike in swell this weekend as a low forms off the North QLD coast, seeing a brief flaring of SE-ESE winds along the Capricorn Coast and extending into the Coral Sea.
