Tiny swells becoming surfable next week
Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Fri Mar 7)
This weekend and next week (Mar7-Mar14)
Central QLD: Tiny swells becoming surfable next week
No change to the outlook.
TC Alfred is maintaining intensity as a low end Cat 2 cyclone, as it moves slowly towards SEQLD at a walking pace. Gales to storm force winds are located across the SE and SW quadrants.
Anywhere north of the cyclone, especially north of Fraser (K’gari) will see vastly reduced surf.
Tiny surf continues over the weekend.
We should see a small uptick in E swell next week as E’ly winds re-enter the Coral Sea. Just rideable surf by Tues.
A long E’ly trade belt looks established later next week with better quality E’ly trade-swells likely by the end of the week.
Tradewinds developing next week
\We’ll see how all that looks on Mon in more detail.
Seeya then and have a great weekend!
