South facing beaches will be the go this working week with Tuesday morning and Thursday morning picking up some good groundswell energy under light/variable winds. Those local to a more open beach - fear not. There are good indications of a north/northeasterly swell in the 2-3ft range for Sunday. Stay tuned.

Next week holds promising prospects of solid southerly ground swell under light/workable southeasterly breezes. Keep an eye on the forecast if you're feeling deprived.

After a long spell of virtually no surf, there are promising indications of a strong southerly ground swell for Tuesday. Light southeasterly winds are likely to be workable, or at least easily avoidable.

Wednesday's northeasterly swell has been downgraded in size, but should remain clean for the morning session. A strong southerly change is expected to move through mid-morning resulting in a strong increase in size.

Models are suggesting a broad northerly fetch off the coast of NSW on Tuesday. We have our fingers crossed that this scenario comes off and we are graced with fun and workable NE swell under westerly breezes.

Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Guy Dixon (issued Wednesday 14th October)

Best Days: Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Recap:

A small inconsistent southerly swell gave rise to clean 1-1.5ft peaks under a northwesterly breeze on Tuesday morning. The offshore breezes eventually succumbed to a northeasterly seabreeze by mid-morning resulting in the decline of surface conditions.

Not many prospects of more size in the coming days. Peaky northeasterly wind swell under offshore breezes on Friday, otherwise Sunday will see a fresh southerly groundswell.
