Watch: Another bloody Asher Pacey clip
It's another bloody Asher Pacey clip and the Swellnet office is celebrating. Between beekeeping and gem fossicking, Pacey throws down jazz improv lines that sparkle like topaz. First minute or so of this clip is standard turns, but the second half is when Pacey deviates from Snapper's timeworn 4:4 beat with frontside laybacks, sideslips, and ad-lib 360s.
Clip by Dan Scott for Shapers Fins.

First turn is pure sex
Does this guy ever go for a surf without a camera person? Do they get paid to document his every move?
Without a camera person?

Surfers labourer
Sorry, I meant "media manager/digital archivist". Pardon my use of such archaic language. Sometimes I think today like it was yesterday.
Damn I was hoping the music would have been as exciting to match his surfing. All that talk of jazz improv lol.....A Bluenote smoker down would have done nicely - that felt like was I smoked out on opium having nightmares about my hipster teenage kids from Byron making pop/folk music and putting it to errr cool surf clips
That was good.
I don't think there was a single air. Just fun surfing and carves and stuff.
How short is that board?
Take that back 30 years and that would have totally blown our minds.
He has an incredible efficiency to his surfing that makes it look joyous and effortless although I'm sure its not (effortless). Not a speed pump of wobble in sight yet he generates heaps of speed. He also seems to turn when the wave allow its and wait patiently in between. A joy to watch. Bastard is so smooth.
How many sessions was that filmed over? I average about 2.5 waves a session out there... that was about 100 waves
