Australian surfers know him as the scarf-wearing assassin at Supertubes, the J'Bay wildcard who beat Slater and Irons while at the top of their games.

That was 6-7 years ago, these days Sean Holmes is a salaryman like the rest of us, always with an eye to skive off for a few weeks annual leave.

Circumstances change but Holmes' bloodhound sense for the tube hasn't. Count the notches in this vid alone. All of it was shot in the southern atolls early March 2018 - i.e just two weeks ago - during a trip with The Perfect Wave.
