Watch: Frigid Mundaka
As we here in the antipodes suffer the summer scourge of flat spells, rank humidity, and swarms of bluebottles, Euro surfers are coming off the back of a month of chilly late winter waves. West-facing coasts have been consistently hammered, with spikes in swell lighting up the protected corners, such as the mouth of the Oka River - otherwise known as Mundaka.
Enjoy this vid of locals displaying the deft skill of speed management. It ain't always pretty but it's never less than effective.
And while you're here, enjoy two more waves, one apiece from Anthony Walsh and Alex Gray, at Cave in Portugal. Filmed on Sunday.

I reckon Alex Gray probably walks around looking like a blow up doll. That bloody Go-pro hardly leaves his mouth.
Nice edit above, good combo of land and water shots. Reckon it would have been hard to jag a set with that mob out there.
-1 for the burn.
looks like the spot Slaters got on his insta a while ago......heavy.
Worth having the sound up loud on a decent set of speakers for this.
Worth having the sound up loud on a decent set of speakers for the cave clip. First clip tune ain't too bad either - jose gonzalez
Nice footage and not a jetski to be seen anywhere, meanwhile at Kirra......
great comment/observation...
Very nice, and yes zen, was thinking it would probably be difficult to snag a wave off the boys. Such sweet conditions, made me think how long it's been since I've been out in nice clean waves. Too long!
Completely pretty it's enough to make me wanna go goofy foot again, surfs not bad either.
