Ex-CT South African Sean Holmes makes an annual pilgrimage to the Maldives. Last year he holed up in Kandooma with wife and kids, but this year he was all at sea, aboard the charter boat Mavaahi with a bunch of mates.

The boat sailed to the Central Maldivian Atolls where they went exploring. Upon his return, Sean said, “As you can imagine, being a former pro surfer I've been fortunate enough to go on many boat trips, yet good surf alone doesn't ensure a great charter experience."

"A well balanced group of guys and or girls is critical, as is a knowledgeable, friendly boat crew and a spacious, comfortable boat."

For Sean, the Maldives is a back-to-bucket list destination that delivers an excellent combo of surf, seclusion, and endless opportunity for adventure.

"Scoring quality waves is the icing on the cake," says Sean. "Of course having a quality photographer aboard providing images of your special memories is important.”
