Floridian Pete Mendia ain't too well known in Australia, yet he's got a style that seems awfully familiar. If we dare play the generalisation game, then Mendia's sunk-rail, heavy-hooved arcs have an Australian flavour. Could easily fit him into a goofy lineage that includes Tom Carroll, Occy, Luke Egan, Shaun Cansdell, and Ryan Callinan.

But meh....surfing is totally global now, pockets of congruence don't exist as they once did so I might as well drop that comparison.

Still, it's a delight to see someone as heavy on the heels as Mendia, and the later barrels are equally as thrilling.
