New surf cameras announced
Swellnet's surf camera network is getting wider! Keen-eyed readers will have noticed a few new additions to our surf camera network. Over the last month we've installed a number of cameras in northern New South Wales and the Sunshine Coast in preparation for the coming summer and beyond.
On the Sunny Coast we've got new cameras installed at:
Sunshine Beach:
While the northern NSW cams are:
Kingscliff:
Yamba:
Park Beach, Coffs Harbour:
With a Cabarita cam coming very shortly.
As always the cams are positioned at high vantage points to allow greater scope across the banks. Why check just one bank when you can inspect the whole beach? The lofty locations also stop our cameras from getting caked in salt from the sea breeze – a regular problem for cameras positioned at dune level.
The cameras have low light capability for your pre-sunrise surf check. They're not quite night vision but not they're not far off either. Don't be left in the dark about swell conditions.
Plus, each camera has a 'surf oriented tour' that only scans the waves and not the beach. That means less time waiting in front of the screen and more time surfing.
Speaking of, if you want to see less ads while watching the surf cams the solution is simple: subscribe to Swellnet Pro. You'll never see another surfcam ad again, and you'll get a 16 day surf forecast to boot.
Keep an eye out for more surf cams in the near future.

Next couple of weeks.. just finished building a new API for the surfcams which needs to be rebuilt into the Apps.
Add the Seaway Spit and i'll subscribe for life.
Guess the bar will never fly under the radar again. Hard to believe but it's surprising how you can still get a wave there without many people, but a bloody camera ain't gonna help much. Maybe you could keep the kings cam as an actual kings cam instead?
