Watch: 90's Archives from the Margaret River Pro
Now that the 2021 Margaret River Pro is done and dusted, let's take a stroll down memory lane - beginning back in 1990, when Barton Lynch defeated Jeff Booth, Wendy Botha was victorious over Jodie Cooper, and everyone went left - sometimes all the way to the Rivermouth.

Recorded that off the tv as a kid and watched it over and over
me too!
The good old days before social media destroyed it all
back when it was a left!
Where is this wave? Looks like a good venue for the current conests.
How’s the dancing girls on stage?
Epic. Bring it back!
One had nuts
Epic indeed. I was lucky enough to live there for 10 years from my early 20's and saw Slater the first year he went and his surfing made you believe the hype.
That was until he ran into a rampaging Carroll (maybe in the semi's) when the left was standing up and TC was just showing No Mercy.
TC went on to win and the local tv station did an excellent coverage of the whole event, which some of the above footage was from (92 or 93?).
TC beat Paderatz in the final as the wind swung Nth and destroyed the conditions.
Does anyone have a copy of that coverage? I think it was called "Wave Masters"
nice trip down memory lane.
would have liked to have seen a whole wave ridden to judge how good that left actually was.
wow, good to see some colour and personality compared to the monotone, monochrome , trotted out drivel we are subject to now.
Here fucken here Finntim!
Epic.
