The whole topic is a complete mess. There's a difference between those who genuinely want to question government and corporate power and to live a healthy life, and those that are dumb, gullible, grifters and just totes crazy.

I think that between social media, the rise of "choose your own truth" and a profound mistrust in authority, things are far enough gone that, socially and politically speaking we're heading into something new.

Burls I'll start by saying it's the first I've heard of those groups trying to influence local councils in that way.
But generally speaking, in northern NSW at least, that sort of subculture makes up a significant minority and it appears to be growing.
Do you see that article as being inaccurate or unrepresentative?

Discrediting people by calling them anti-vaxxers and conspiracy theorists in the beginning of the article does not help and only causes further divide.

Being anti Covid jab, doesn't mean you're automatically an "anti-vaxxer" but many peoples eyes have been opened to government/media manipulation.

Kind of agree Burls, I mean, that article was a hatchet job from the start and didn’t intend to really show both sides of the story.
But if you are going to go all 5G and survivalist, of course your Covid vax concerns are going to be extrapolated into being general anti-vax.
You showed this yourself by conflating Covid concerns with anti-polio vaccination and a deafening silence on measles vaccinations.
And the whole sovereign citizen New World order thing is 100% conspiracy theorist.
To be honest I think those people are deserving of a bit of mockery.
Some more facts might be good but I suspect it would be pointless.

Please Andy, you’re no better than the dodgy journalist this wrote the article calling me anti-polio vaccine, this is simply not true.
To refresh your memory you shared an article about vaccine derived polio being found in London sewage and you immediately expressed your concerns and wanted to vaccinate the kids (again) I simply said I would not do this right now, and it was not found in any human, just the sewage (somewhere in London)
I have asked you several times what is happening in London, which you never responded…….. wonder why?

Regarding Measles, I actually don’t remember, not saying we didn’t chat about it though.

Covid, governments and media have a lot to answer for regarding the sovereign citizens. If they treated everyone fairy over the covid years and not manipulated, deceived and lied to our faces then I dare say this wouldn’t be such an issue.

They created the problem, now they make it worse by openly moking them

The next pandemic? This one apparently kills up to 90% infected with no known cure or vaccine. Just skimmed over the article, and if I put my conspiracy (tin foil) hat on it sounds a bit suss. "They" are concerned about the Marburg virus. In order to research a cure or vaccine they need a "live" virus outbreak. The virus just happens to be spreading through west Africa right now (according to what "they" are saying). Another vaccine coming?
I seriously dont think so, there's always an ebola type virus active somewhere in Africa. Remember back in was it 2014? when US media started panicking about Ebola? Nothing came of it.

I still stand by "leave the kids alone" when only finding traces of vaccine derived polio somewhere in Londons sewage and no actual human has been infected. You think only faeces gets flushed down the drain?

You don't answer the question about what's happening in London because you've searched high and low but can't find anything.

No apparently it didn’t kick off but to me that’s beside the point.
That’s why I mentioned being conservative and taking precautions.
The thought of being unprepared and dealing with a polio outbreak doesn’t bear thinking about.

On the surface the idea of sovereign citizens may seem somewhat reasonable. From a philosophical stand point having a level of control over the rules you live under is attractive to some, and i kind of understand that.

However, you only have to give that surface a very, very light scratch to unveil the clown college level of insanity which their beliefs are based on.

You should be far more concerned about kids getting fed McDonalds and soft drink everyday. Yet you're still yapping on about traces of vaccine derived polio found in sewage.

How ironic, the vaccine experts want you to be vaccinated against a virus created by administering the vaccine and the virus was not found in any human, but wastewater.

You're constructing a strawman Burls.
There were no cases in London however, as shown in New York the virus can be transmitted and turn into paralytic polio.
Your demands for proof of cases in London is irrelevant - every expert strongly recommends keeping kids' polio vaccinations up to date.
As for "not taking a single statement from a single expert", there are hundreds if not thousands of experts who are in agreement that it is important that children are fully up-to-date with their polio vaccine.
So you can stop worrying about the "single expert".
Rejecting out of hand the recommendation to vaccinate against polio generally, and certainly rejecting advice to vaccinate kids in London, New York or Jerusalem at that time we're talking about is pretty ridiculous.
You're projecting the political mess surrounding Covid onto the settled science around vaccinations more broadly.

Hahaha, you're hanging on for grim death.
It was a casual mistake which doesn't change anything I've said.
Or, more to the point, it doesn't change what all the epidemiological experts say.
Just a recap Burls.

"Poliomyelitis (or polio, for short) terrorised America and Europe until the 1960s.
It paralysed more than 15,000 people a year in America and 8,000 in Britain, mostly children.
There is no treatment for polio and 5-10% of paralytic cases are fatal.
The invention of a vaccine set the world on a path to eradication.
The Americas region was declared free of the wild poliovirus in 1994.
Europe followed in 2002 and Africa in 2020.
But in June a 20-year old man was paralysed by polio in a suburb of New York City.
It was America’s first confirmed case of local transmission since 1979.
In recent months poliovirus has turned up in wastewater samples in London and New York in quantities that suggest the virus is circulating there."

Again -

"But the wastewater findings are still a wake-up call for parents with one key message, according to scientists around the world, including David Heymann, epidemiologist at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine: Protect children by getting them vaccinated."

And why is it back?
The experts will tell you it’s because of the un vaccinated (sounds familiar right)

But the virus that was found in the shit is vaccine derived polio, not the polio virus you’re referring to in the 1960s It’s a virus created by the pharmaceutical companies.

As vaccine derived polio was only found in sewage, this does not mean polio is circulating in London, as it turns out, it’s not.

Burls if you don't get it or you don't want to get it, we may as well call it a day.
The reasons for using the oral polio vaccine/ weakened live virus are very clear and out in the open.
And the reason this vaccine can spread and mutate back to a harmful version of the virus is because of under-vaccinated communities.
There is no conspiracy and there is actually a concentrated campaign to wipe out polio.
You know, like they did with smallpox.

Mate, c’mon, you wet the bed about this whole London thing, I made a simple comment originally that I wouldn’t vaccinate my kids (yet or again) because they have found traces on vaccine derived polio is sewage but not any in humans.

Since then you’ve carried on like a fish out of water flapping about, now even resorting to making up shit about it to justify the bed wetting.
