Classic....
Speaking of good news I just witnessed a P plating dual cab 4wd get totally worked by National parks crew on a local 4wd beach. The idiots had a full cab and at least 6 young people in the ute tray doing doughnuts at low tide.
Speaking to the NPWS ranger afterwards, he said he made everyone but the driver get out , walk back and collect their boards and gear , which was at least half a mile back up the beach, and told them they all had to walk it back to the main entrance over the dunes(at least another 1.5km over the dunes) , or the police would be called and fines/court appearances will be issued.
Basically take the long way home ,have a think about it ,and thank yourselves lucky no one was injured or killed during your stupid antics.
I thought the ranger handled it well. Old school bloke.
I wouldn't like to be in their shoes if he catches them again though.
Grandkids over this weekend . Totally forgot how good Sesame Street is.
Here’s a tale of some fellow travellers along the East Coast.

Beaut pic of the headers and chaser bins, I know those roads in the background
VJ drove down to Hopetoun a couple of weeks ago crops were booming there will be some nervous farmers until its in the bin.
It's fantastic news, great picture of the headers and chaser bins, brings back memories of my early years on the farm
I know that nervousness, and harvesting until past sunset when the moisture levels got too much - all to get the harvest away quickly. How nice is the drive down that way I focus? Had friends at Ravy long ago.
When our eldest was a toddler, he'd go for header rides with two harvesting and me on chaser bin. All of a sudden the huge red and green machines would stop as they overlapped, and a little child would be taken from one to the other. "I want a ride in the red header!" was usually the reason why.
The Great Sushi Train Robbery
Haha Stu, I love my sushi as well
Got my old job back
Let’s goooooooooooooooo
Hopefully see you soon Shorey. Do you do QF26?
Nah Zen I’ve pulled out of int. and going back to where it all began for me. Going to be flying regional on Dash 8s, working with friends in a healthier environment (no more long haul every 3rd day) just working days and country town overnights that agree with my circadian rhythm
Planning on thrashing the benefits though :)
Welcome home (soon) mate
Edit
Don’t mistake that for international not bouncing back. Mates there are frothing, regrowth & expansion is on the boil.
Time for the worlds longest commercial flight to come back to its rightful owner
Great news, Shorey, though not a scratch on the news I received by email overnight:
My name is Charles W. Jackson Jr. and i won $344.6 million Powerball jackpot June 4, 2019.
I am giving donation to 5 randomly selected emails and yours is one of the email i selected from a raffle draw.
I am donating the sum of $1,000,000 to you and your family in good faith.
Contact me through email at [email protected] to claim your donation.
That’s crazy lucky Stu.
I’ve been having a bit of a run myself lately, receiving multiple text messages each day informing me that packages I never ordered have arrived and are available for pick up for a small fee.
How good is that!
I recently got an email from a widow who was bequeathed a couple of mil from her Turkish Doctor husband. She herself is now terminally ill and picked me to be the recipient of her fortune but I had to act quickly. I could only get this money if I promised to spend it for the betterment of humanity.
I wrote back saying that I am financially secure but could I donate to her to assist in her ongoing medical expenses. I asked for her bank account number.
Never heard back.
PS- I think she now lives in India the poor thing.
I feel a bit left out, apparently I've been having "internet problems"
Great story Guy. Good news here as we have taken on a new rescue pup who is quickly settling in.
Awesome Blackers. What a little dude- keep us informed of his progress.
We got back late yesterday from the big fellas first snow trip. Took to it like a duck to water. Turns out he might be gay. He instantly bonded with an older male Golden Retriever. Had to separate them quite a few times as mums were shielding their kids eyes.
Oh and snow! So much snow. Some pics to follow if I can sort it out.
Yeah awesome story GS. What a legend she is.
And blackers , top stuff , long may he run.
Thanks guys. He is a bundle of fun and trying really hard to do the right thing.
Zen your lab is such a handsome chap, surely you must have had questions prior. Mind you, I haven't met many who don't like a retriever. Hope the skiing/boarding is as good as it looks. Heapsa snow!
haha classic Zen , nice pics too.
Nice one blackers, looking very content there.
Dont know where to post this so ill post it here. bad news for party animals.

My daily good news story is I’m still alive . Paddled out at D- bar 4.45 am in the dark . 6 guys already out . Caught 3 waves then paddling back out suddenly felt really weak , bit dizzy and breathing heavy. Thought oh shit an AF ( atrial fibrillation ) episode coming on . Headed in to shore and the walk up the beach to car was like a marathon with my heart rate and breathing. Layed down in car for 30 minutes and pain in chest was increasing so thought time to make a b- line to hospital . Drive to tweed hospital is only 3-4 minutes and I parked the car and staggered in to ED and told nurses that I was having a AF episode. They took my heart rate and it was 220. ! Pain in chest was about a 7 out of 10 Within seconds I had 5 staff around me and getting emergency treatment. About to get some pads hooked up and then heart just clicked back into rhythm . It was so strange and the sensation that came over me at the same time , had me burst out laughing. The nurses and doctors all laughed as well and blamed the nurse who was about to hook me up as scaring me into rhythm. They later told me I was not looking good and that my colour was grey due to no blood getting pumped around my body . just a heart going absolutely crazy. I’ve had this condition 2 years now and when I’ve felt a episode coming on Ive taken a pill ( starts with F ) that sorts me out in about an hour with total rest . The cardiologist I saw about this problem did a risk benefit analysis and said because of my age ( now 60 ) he didn’t want to put me on permanent medication . So I’m currently lying in hospital waiting for release . The staff at tweed hospital are absolutely amazing and their response was so quick , they really are the heroes of society in my view. Hopefully I’m back in the water tomorrow although I feel like I’ve run a marathon.
Bloody hell SF! Glad to hear you're OK.
Far out supa that’s full on. Hope the recovery is ok
Need to get a 2nd opinion Super, don't want to be one of the blokes found face down in the drink, get well soon.
Harrowing.
All the best Supa. Glad you're still here.
All the best supa, take care.
Thanks guys , about to get released and turns out not AF but similar and dehydration and caffeine may have brought it on . Looks like caffeine is now also off the diet , Back to cardiologist in the new year. Here’s a description of what the diagnosis was this time. Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is as an abnormally fast or erratic heartbeat that affects the heart's upper chambers. An abnormal heartbeat is called an arrhythmia. SVT is also called paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. A normal heart rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute. A heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute is called a tachycardia (tak-ih-KAHR-dee-uh). During an episode of SVT, your heart beats about 150 to 220 times per minute, but it can occasionally beat faster or slower.
Most people with supraventricular tachycardia live healthy lives without restrictions or treatment. For others, lifestyle changes, medication and heart procedures may be needed to control or eliminate the rapid heartbeats and related symptoms.
Best wishes from NZ, Supa!
Wow SF, glad you're all good, bit of a scare eh!
Sounds heavy, all the best.
All the best mate.
Hope it turns out well for you supa. I hope its not a sign of diabetes coming on. my dad and my best friend here both have diebetes and they suffer sometimes. Cant go on long walks anymore and one, Steve stitches used to paddle accros the river here (full of bullsharks)and surf secret spots well up the coast by himself, since insulen problems he cant do that, boat only. He gets warn out anytime of day and needs to have some healthy food to recover from his headspins and light headedness.
Get well ol boy
Many dont realise that 8 hrs in bed with no fluid intake and your badly Dehydrated when you wake....
Down a coffee or two before the early session and your putting in 400 ml of a diuretic
Boom - more Dehydration - Then 2 or 3 pees in an hour surf with no fluid intake...more dehydration
i got into the Habit of after peeing in the night skolling as much water as i can before going back to bed and putting in more fluid before a surf
A litre a day seems to be the recommended min amount but were all so different - im rooted if i dont have min of 2 ltrs a day.
...and many of us continue to enjoy a well known diuretic (in moderation) in the evening.
@udo , yes I’m guilty of not drinking enough water . Always start the day with a coffee , usually 3 by 12.00 and then maybe a green tea . Addicted to the energy burst caffeine gives me but its time to knock it on the head . When I worked over west in the Pilbara I would drink 8 to 10 litres of water a day but now Im lucky to drink 1-2 litres. My diets pretty good, no bread or sugar no alcohol or smokes but now the last vice has to go . Not looking forward to the cravings . Still in hospital at the moment , they took another ECG and something came up , so more blood tests. Also been told to back off too much physical exercise until stress tests done.

I’m 181 cm and 90 kg , big boned , could lose another 5 kg but I look unhealthy . At my unhealthiest when doing FIFO 4&1 operating plant , I blew out to 124 kg
Glad to hear you're ok Supa. I've inherited AF from my mum. 52 now, started showing up about 5 years ago. Over that time I've slowly worked out what the triggers were and changed my habits accordingly. Dehydration is definitely a key trigger for me. Going for an early with just a cup of coffee in my system was my usual routine, but now I make sure I have a good chug of water and a little bit of food beforehand. Coffee too, is my one remaining vice. I still have one full strength in the morning. Then I'll have 2 or 3 decaf through the rest of the day. The Vittoria decaf is good, I can barely tell the difference taste wise. Instant coffee is poison to me, moccona being the worst.
Moccona make the best curing and pickle jars though :) especially the extra large ones.
Scary stuff Supafreak. Glad you're still with us.
Makes you appreciate how quickly things can go pear shaped with our health and/or life, especially when you least expect it..

God yes.
I injured back almost 2 weeks ago and it's still rooted.
Will have to sit this next swell out.
it's painful to sit, painful to stand, painful to lie down.
Psychologically, it's a punish to be crippled and not to be able to do the things you love to do.

Yes agreed , I’m still in hospital and all I could think about yesterday is that I might miss this swell. Then the mind starts projecting to Indo in May June July and worrying about having one of these episodes up in mentawi . Ive been invited to a private camp and I’m really looking forward to it with max 10 people. I’m counting my blessings and all , just wish the head would shut up .
Had it assessed freeride? Any idea what the issue is?
