I know the oz government guards citizenship because we have generous welfare but I just had a look at New Zealands and it almost looks better, dependin on cost of living. Obviously loads of variables.

Things in oz aren't rosey either now. Cost of living is mental, power bills are $1000 a quarter minimum and private health is now so expensive its made itself redundant. Fuel isn't too bad at $1.20 at the moment tho. Our medicare/public health system is on the verge of collapse in SA they were turning ambulances away 2 weeks ago or they had them lined up 20 deep at the hospital ramps refusing them entry.

I'm surprised the kiwi government hasn't reciprocated a lot of the things you mentioned in the thread topic I doubt it would do any political damage.

That's true Gaz, but just because someone else is morbidly obese for instance, doesn't make it ok for Ozzies to lead the way in obesity. We are supposed to be the bastion of 'advancement', and love parading all this nationalistic Anzac pride. But the actual truth is:

'na fuck our Ozzie groms, corse we can exploit a third world abused slave to do basic accounting tasks, graphics tasks, assembling, manufacturing, communication, well anything that would give our Ozzie groms training and a stable, comfortable career path and lifestyle and future'.

And a stable, comfortable career path and lifestyle and future isn't even on the agenda in the bastion of truth (well just a few fibs), justice and the American wizard of Oz, Anzac hall of fame. Its a shame that the deceitful, thick headed poms didn't listen and learn a bit more about real legacy, about really handing something on, leaving something truly great to the kids, from Indigenous Australians, before they stubbornly fucked up and got washed away and rescued at Gundagai.

Going back to NZiders original post about working conditions, I had a look at my old surveyor's dig a few months ago and it now pays about 20% less than it did in 2007. It's just mind blowing that organised labour has gone along with the increased immigration levels in the name of diversity, and completely thrown their members under a large bus. What isn't being talked about is the amount of productive industry (ie, value adding) that we have lost and papered over with a housing bubble - letting the entire world in to bid, to keep the prices up, so that the Day of Reckoning should be delayed. It's demoralising to see what has been done to Australian youth as well - job opportunities, uni opportunities sold off to any bidder from overseas; career paths now a rotisserie of internships that might lead to something. For the homeless young, some of whom I surf with, I have no answers.

Anzac spirit? Well, great uncle was 7th Division, saw action on Kokoda and in the Solomons (which sounded worse)... his generation fought and kept Australia sovereign. How it was sold off so cheaply from under all of us is just appalling. Now you can have your $1000 quarterly power bill (thank fcuk for solar), you will never see those incredible Tassie veggies on your dinner plate as they go offshore - and you will like it!

So when you ozy taxpayers have finished paying for the NBN network, how cheap do you think the govt will sell it off ?
