I heart WOTD
Today’s photo is so good. What a moment
Definitely a lot going on there. Great shot.
Incredible isn't it, here's the sequence..
Re: today's caption..... Brave Captain?
This Steve Arklay guy takes the best photos, that pic looks almost airbrushed.
Geez cracking shot today Steve Arklay. Well done! Mindsurf madness! What a beauty.
Isn't it BD, the type you used to draw on your exercise books at school. Perfection.
haha , indeed zenagain , followed by a 'cracking shot' of a 1M ruler on the desk when the teacher asks you a question about anything they've said in the last 20 minutes.
Today’s must be an old one? Steve’s had some cracking WOTDs over the years.
Is he still touring the country?
Good to see the old faithful from back home yesterday. Looks like there’s been some good early season days there lately.
Haha. True that @ZENAGAIN. But crime does pay. If you ever find yourself at waidroka Bay resort in Fiji, check out the surfboard shack and you'll see my finest work of school book waves come to life painted on the wall as a map for all the local breaks. And I got paid for the privilege!! In the off-season, no guests to take surfing, so rise early, paddle out to outer reefs in dark, score epic little solo sessions at sunrise, come back and get a free big breakfast from the angelic Fijian women, then go lay down, chill, and only then, eventually saunter down to the surf shack, catch up with all the Fijian fellas(absolute legends) working the gardens, before finally committing myself to painting one singular wave for the day on the wall. I stretched this job out for a month, much to the disgust of the euro managers. Finished day off eating burgers, sinking beers and drinking kava. Ahhh nice! Haha. Stay in school kids. Doodle waves during class. Dreams do come true. Haha. Yew!
Sounds miserable BD;)
Ha! Was good while it lasted Zen :-D
Ha- good caption. There is another mythological Australian creature called the Queen Snake - suggest there may be a few of them lurking at this spot along with the bears.
That’s a shocker
Are my eyes deceiving me or is that leggie 20 foot long?
Looks suspiciously like an abandoned paddle up behind the wave. And by the looks of the fins... don’t tell me it’s a SUP!?!?

Looks like a construction crane in the background to me?
Yeah jono its a crane , another highrise for the hill
Ahhh.... should’ve gone to... some reputable optometrist
Great shot, how’s the wall on it
Is there a board going over the falls behind him?
Betting this pic was yesterday.
Cracker of a wave. You only need one of those to lock the sesh in.
So good.
A surfer suffered a broken jaw at Bells yesterday.
There is a video of the incident plus a few other pics on Instagram.
I don't know how to post it here but go to bluegums (Dean Snow) on Instagram
Cheers
First look i thought he hit tail of other board but no - good take off effort though
Was on a 9'4 x 22 3/4 Glider fark thats a lot of board
Gutsy take off, that's for sure.
At that speed and from that height hitting the water face first would be like running into a brick wall at 50kmh
DARRYL MENZIES 4 PLATOON B COY 9RAR... thank you for your service, and the most beautiful ANZAC sunrise photo, special, very special. All the best.
Agreed sheepshagger. Beautiful photo and thanks. Was down on a headland at dawn watching the sunrise with those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us firmly in my thoughts. Lest we forget.
yeah great photo for today .
I missed the dawny , but had to turn west while I was having a late arvo fish to check on the awesome sunset over the dunes and stop for a minute . Couldn't help but picture some light horsemen charging the beach .

Would love to see some more photos from this session.

Cheers! Wasn't expecting that. Ask and ye shall receive 30 more photos.
Even the end of the world is crowded nowadays. Rough count 15 cars. Who would have thought?? They must be putting on extra flights based on swell forecasts.
How depresing i really feel for locals at these spots that only break in solid to huge swells and then when they do they are over run with guys from elsewhere.
Blowin do I detect some sarcasm in that comment???
I did think twice about posting that link. Less detail would have been better.
Steve, shot mate.
love it!
Yesterday I said I missed the Gold Coast and today we have a still of a bloke completely slotted, who chances are, dropped in on someone and is now himself about to be dropped in on with two others waiting to drop in on him.
Yew!
Backlit morning Sunshine Coast tubes are a particularly lovely objet d’art.
Today's photo - so beautiful and feminine
Great shot today. It has to be mentioned.
The wave of the day does it for me big time. Nice work Steen Barnes , Shaun Anderson and Swellnet.
In one photo you've encompassed everything nice about surfing. If I was a wanker I'd say that it was perfect except for the fact he is in a wetsuit. Which it is , it's perfect .....except for the fact he's in a wetsuit.
