I heart WOTD
I need something cleared up. Is it world's best worst wave. Or, world's worst best wave?
Worst best
I'm not sure on that, have to ask Blowin, all I know is that it's hell of a lot of fun on the right board and swell! So prob latter?
Worst best wave on the east coast.
Western Port has any number of the best worst waves
Andy's been on the road I see. Very different to home base.
Whatcha talkin' about Bnkref? Haven't you scoured all of those secret long right-hand pointbreaks west of Victor, east of Jervis before?
Shhhhh Ben. No waves worth travelling for in SA.
I'm with Craig, good fun on the right board. Plenty of worse waves in the immediate area, and Westernport.
Surely there has been some sort all time sand build up?
It's reef
Im sure the base of the wave is reef but there is also a lot of sand.
"The worst good wave in Australia."
It is kind of true, it's such an epic set up geographically everything is perfect even that spot you paddle out from it's like its made by nature for surfers.
And then the wave while fun, it's one of those spots where you think, if only it broke like Lennox or Burleigh or even the Alley.
Would have been the perfect wave in the 60s though.
Still a really beautiful spot though.
Went there in 2013 and was 22nd in line for the rock jump off. Hate to know what it's like nowadays.
Sand dependant but can get really good and not too busy if you're savvy.
Oh yeah, I usually have a fun time out there. It's just so underwhelmingly ok.
It’s frustrating driving down there from the North on the new freeway as you go under worst good wave rd then have to keep going 10 mins exiting through sth hell hole and loop right back around.
Hahaha.
Haha you're not wrong LD.
Had many a good session there and surrounds, been the staple of my sand bottomed point break action, and have a similar picture taken by yours truly which has taken up residence on my phone's home screen. Agree the crowd factor is variable, I suppose like any spot on its day really.
Shrubs??
Scrub or bush no shrubs
"It's a shrubbery"
Haha, the waves are manicured at least, nice pic
Sorry Guy, I'm with Stu.
"shrub:(NOUN)a woody perennial plant, smaller than a tree, with several major branches arising from near the base of the main stem"- Collins English Dictionary.
I am more interested in the name given to the bloke/s paddling for the wave that clearly has someone already up and barrelled. A "super-banker"?
Stu please tell me you're quoting the Knights Who Say Ni?
Not buying it blackers while noting you used an English dictionary; shrubs belong in a garden.
Aye, Jono.
So Guy, will you believe the local shire? A common coastal plant in that neck of the woods is Sweet Bursaria reckon I can see some in the foreground).
Sweet Bursaria: Bursaria spinosa subsp. spinosa
Prickly woody shrub to 2m or more, with small oval leaves.
Agreed blackers the surf coast shire have been gentrified haha
Look!
A shrubber!
FREE shrubber!
Wow. Who needs hallucinogens when you got nature on display like that!
The last two days have been bangers.
Great angle captured by Steve Arklay today(how great a frame when considering the light).
It reminders me how much I suck at grabbing rail.
yeah ,, great shot. I can feel the anticipation .The colour and symmetry outstanding.
Loving the lineup shot. Been doing a fair bit of mindsurfing today...
Agree pops it’s a cracker
As if I’m not missing Indo enough already
Thanks for the kind words Goofy.
But seriously sick pic, this one would make a good painting those colours.
Chip off the old block and nice gouge off the top.
Noosa looking way better than goldy , hopefully today is better
Todays shot coulda been taken 30 years ago.
Classic Richard Cram.
Was thinking the same this morning Zen. I haven't heard his name in like 30 years, shows we're deffo showing our age.
Yeah agreed Zen and WotL,
I think it was in The Performers '82-83 his surfing at OTW (?) was unrivalled for power and timing
Set to the tune of 'Burning Down The House' (Talking Heads) if my memory is still not totally shot. Still got the vid somewhere..............yep, a few of us are are getting on in life.
haha , yeah I,m one of them ringmaster. Performers was 'ingrained in the membrane'.
Nice work Tubeshooter!
If todays shot is where I think it is, I spent quite a few years surfing that spot in the 80 - 90's when it was on.
The rock outcrop in the background has a name starting with E?
The wave of the day does it for me big time. Nice work Steen Barnes , Shaun Anderson and Swellnet.
In one photo you've encompassed everything nice about surfing. If I was a wanker I'd say that it was perfect except for the fact he is in a wetsuit. Which it is , it's perfect .....except for the fact he's in a wetsuit.
