I heart WOTD
Likewise. Good to know that .
Josh Kerr chasing mullet... and people wonder why shark attacks happen.
Todays WOTD June 17th.
Great water shot and stunning wave. How good would the inside looking out view be.
Hey Stu, WOTD of Steph. Is that from up my neck of the woods recently?
South of Moreton Bay, Fitz.
Solid.
Have a feeling I saw that place from a plane looking very very good.
Any point pretending it's a secret anymore? Not too long ago you could surf it by yourself and now it's "dodge a wannabe pro on his ski". I blame Trevor Hendy who got the first Cooly pro's on to it. Broke an unwritten code by those who surfed it.
Are we allowed to guess?
Another Deadmans gem today.
Chris Lougher must still be floating on a little cloud after the waves he got during that swell - and that he surfed so well.
Speaking of which, how the hell does Sydney breed so many good surfer, and lots that are really gung-ho in bigger waves? Impressed.
It's insane eh, I reckon the photo of the swell!
There's a story behind it.
I went to the local cafe on Monday morning and asked Linzi how she went viewing Deadies on Wednesday. She'd never seen it break and I told here it'd be great viewing as she had the day off.
She said it was insane but also that she got this cool photo. I asked her to show me, expecting it to be a good Iphone grab of a monster, but I was then blown away when she produced that image!
I didn't even know she was into photography let alone nailing such an insane moment, the quality, the mood, the wind and shape. Insane.
She's stoked and I'm stoked we could run it.
Agreed Craig, that’s the stand out photo for me too.
Beautiful, raw, menacing, faintly surreal.
That little figure way back in the pocket looks out of proportion.
Great story behind an insane photo. Thanks, Craig and Linzi.
I've always wondered that IB (about big wave surfers in Sydney). They don't get the regular practice that others do.
O
Cracker
Man if only I cold get up there put of this MP lockdown
Todays WOTD pic of rainbow bay disgusts me. Turned the gatta into an abomination so multi millionaires in canal homes have safe dredged boating access to the ocean.
Gee SD say it as it is :)
Police pulling over cars down your way, been pulled over twice thus far.
Nahhhh.... Hardly see cops where I am
Rainbow Bay: still one of the only places one is able to take hallucinogenics on a crowded day and have a good time. Thanks for paving the way MP!
Ha ha! Memories Ape.
WOTD... Deadmans looking easy.. -must of been high tide cause I saw it yesterday arvo and the swell was too straight-on. Probably had the cleanest waves of all the NB though.
That's the thing, it isn't Deadies :)
I like the refraction on that wave, boom. Any idea the length of the board Craig?
No shortage of material this July Craig. Today’s and the one above are crackers, but I think the best was yours form the board, that open jawed beast.
Should I know who Linzi is? Excuse my ignorance. Send my congrats, the colours, shape and timing are impeccable.
Not deadmans.. that makes more sense! But it was yesterday on the NB?
Big grey days are the shit
Mr. man of many talents Brokensha has been slaying the WOTD as of late.
Great shot. Quite a lot going on there.
Its the Queensie Bombie isn't it? Hardly a secret spot. Either there or Longy bombies.
Next logical step is a WOTD of Mr Nettle. Then he could caption it the greatest surf photo of all time, with a Jack Black song on loop as it sits on our screens
This one Shorey?
Haha, not quite the one I had in mind, but that’d probably be better!
Today’s is a continued response to rocketthehut?
Ha...no, not conciously at least.
Getting closer to Shoredump’s prediction today? Perhaps with Liberace playing in the background ....
Hahahaha shorey! Stu gettin' barrelled and Ben going yeehaa you're not deep enough! :)
Hahaha oh god.
Holy hell, did he make that?
Robbo absolutely flying
10
Anyone who's surfed there knows how fucken sketchy that section of the wave is. Consequences of blowing it are severe with steps in the wave face & big clusters of brain coral so close to the surface. Only the really talented or kamikazes go that deep on a day like that.
Jack Robbo has both in spades.
It's an amazing photo. No idea if he made it but I reckon there'll be some video somewhere.
Check this one from Jacob Wilcox:
Hahaha wow Shorey, that's so funny!!! Gold.
Jacob Wilcox wave.
I'd be coming in on that one too.
That first tube is so deep and fast, unbelievable skills. And so shallow.
Wilcox wave, surfed beyond perfectly.
Hey did bloody well getting through those multiple foam balls.
The wave of the day does it for me big time. Nice work Steen Barnes , Shaun Anderson and Swellnet.
In one photo you've encompassed everything nice about surfing. If I was a wanker I'd say that it was perfect except for the fact he is in a wetsuit. Which it is , it's perfect .....except for the fact he's in a wetsuit.
