Anyone ridden the endorfins Kelly slater twin+ 2.
Weighing up wether to get a set for a new rounded twin pin
https://www.firewireaus.com/products/endorfins-slater-ks-twin-2?variant=...
i havent ridden the endorfin twins.
what i have ridden for 5 or so years is the same factory scarfini FX twin + trailer.
https://www.wetfins.com.au/products/surfboard-fins-side-fins-twin-scarfi...
more cant than similar futures box twin fins.
larger than most - but then so am i.
Thanks for your reply samerubi.
Im 90kg myself so I definitely get the larger than most.
How do you rate the scarfini - obviously you rate them seeing you’ve ridden them for 5 years.
Also might be a stupid question but is it implied that if they are from the same factory they are a similar shape/design?
Endorfins:
The FCSII compatible base will require two screws that will come with the fins. Endorfins with FCSII compatible bases will not click in and click out.

95-100kg and really happy with the scarfini twins.
they are not too stiff or flighty and have good drive/connection.
looking at the shape the scarfinis will behave differently to the endorfins.
probably more drive as the whole meat of the scarfini fin is set back by about 0.5cm.
twins especially are strongly influenced by the fin.
i would take your new board and ride it with a variety of fins until you find your happy place.
if it is bigger/longer you may be able to get away with smaller fins. the converse is true.
if the board is pinny you may find upright fins work better. again the converse is true.
at the end of the day you are on a journey.
it should be fun - enjoy it.

udo thanks, the toe in is extreme by the looks.
I would have angled them past the nose rather than short of the nose...

Those are some wacky fins Udo, definitely piqued the interest
Be fun to try them…

udo thanks you are on the case mate, I've been thinking about the wake board fins for a few years the only thing was that they may be more expensive, compared to surfboard fins because I don't have any connections in the wake fin industry.
those vector fins look good udo.
if you have shallow fins like them, you could ride very shallow reef or sand bottom breaks. also you could ride over other people & surfers in crowded beach situations. even with normal fins you can ride incredibly shallow section's, it's mind blowing sometimes how you avoid hitting fins on some waves that seem to go dry!
vector fin related videos drop knee surfcraft designs. rail shapes , secret info....
I had a set of those AU fins a couple of years ago. They worked and made the surfboard feel a little different, but I couldn’t really say they were better or worse than the Shaper’s Shaun Cansdell fins I was using at the time.
A 3.5 / 10 Dog
to a 9 / 10...with only 1 Fin Change
^^ Reckon those Carvers are a fairly extreme template. Not so much that they're not worth trying, however it pays to know what style of surfing you have and what you need from fins.
Last Friday I was digging around the shed and came across two little quad nubsters that were laid up, cut, and sanded by Johnno, the last of the Jetty's knuckle men. Great to screw in to add a bit of twinny spice to a quad but still have the turning range and extension.
They're only single tab, and at first I rode them in the front tab before putting them in the rear which felt best.
Dig around that Shed you may come across a Part Shaped 7'0 Balsa Blank.....
Stu how do you find the long webber fins?
simba wrote:Stu how do you find the long webber fins?
A heap of fun in small waves and a good change of pace for when the C-Drives are too 'sticky'. I usually only ride them as a quad, the rear set is a similar template to the front only smaller.
I think, overall, I'm looking for a twinny feeling, or something close to it, but without the shortcomings.
Something different for FCS fans.

8 Deg of movement
What do you think of the concept? Reckon it would take some getting used to.
Looks like its indisputable ; early feedback shows that the system absolutely shreds
Wondering how the Foam around the Outer Box will stand up to the Side movement bottoming out of the inner part
Lots of force being put on it - With 8 Deg of movement under a lot of Load - christ knows how many Side movements on a single Wave
Plus the Wear Factor - i guess the replaceable inner piece is Designed to Wear out first ?
This one looks like could be the real deal. I guess we all become technicians replacing parts udo :)
One joy thing about collecting old surfboards as opposed to cars or bikes (or God help you, boats) is few/no moving parts lol

Shame Flux Fins are no longer
Plugs with Moving Toe in Fitted with a in Water Adjustable FlexFin...
Do you have a pic of those Udo?
Might have something similar in my log and 8'1... it's a big circular plastic base, with a thin tube that goes through to the deck (laminated in on both sides = strong) where the allen key goes in, tow-in is adjustable. Fins plug in from thick central tab with inlaid single metal thread doing the holding.
Post a Pic of yours

The Stronger Install is after Lam......
From comments : i would usually set pre glass but this way is prob actually stronger as the edge of the box buts against the thickness of the glass also so stronger than foam
Yeah stronger if you throw a patch over the top as well but as Futures are so strong recon pre-lap is fine.
Still using FCS2 but in hind sight should have gone Futures years ago.
Most twinzer canards are big enough for 2 standard spaced fcs plugs.
Not sure why so many go with the single now.
eg

Hi All ,
after a bit of your vast wisdom here , got myself a tiny 5'8 fish for small mushy waves , in 78 kgs and currently have fcs g'3 s in it but find them to lack drive and speed anyone have any suggestions on what would be more suitable fins for speed / drive in small waves , old school fcs plugs in the board tri fin .
help would be greatly appreciated .
