Hi guys sorry if discussed already. Why is the above board is so cheap?
Is it because of Thai factory construction etc?
Still $599 is good for a summer groveller from quality brand.

Same as Udo, everything to do with where it was made, though I'd add the price is right in line with similar boards (simple construction, minimal performance) from other manufacturers such as Sideways - who are also made OS - and Sanctum - who make them in Sydney.

Yep.

As you know I’m in indo , when I click on that link the boards were $599 AUD then in a few seconds it clicks over to USD @ $499 , with current exchange rate is $499 USD is $778 AUD . I had a hypto kryto years ago and when purchasing from kirra surf I noticed it was made in Thailand. I complained and the salesman went on to show me the finish on the Thailand boards compared to some other brands made in oz . He was a good salesman and I purchased it and had no issues with the construction .

Have a few Hayden shapes, all go great.
Think clearing old stock.
Some made in Thailand and some in Oz, all the ones I own have held up very well. Both a combination of PU and their Future Flex.

I have two custom size Hayden Misc. Great boards. Both PU with epoxy resin (good combo btw). One made in Oz and the other in Thailand. No comparison on quality - they left Oz because of it. With the Oz one, the guy from Hayden was not happy with the finish and spray at the time and said so to me. Comments were around being hard to find good workers who cared, and being a bit lazy. After being sceptical about Thailand and then seeing the difference, I completely understand them. The Thai finish is first rate. A year on, no issues with the Thai one at all. The Oz one on the other hand, the epoxy and spray is not that good. Rather support Oz but geez, there is a big quality difference.

BTW the Thai price and Oz price is the same.

Often find Hayden has specials with 25% off customs. That's the time to jump.

“My aim is to deliver a product to consumers that is high quality and consistent. There is nothing worse than breaking your favourite board and knowing that you will never get the same thing again. Many major brands outsource to third-party factories for different manufacturing processes (glassing, lamination etc), which means the product ends up being completely different depending on where it is made – this is known. My goal is to have full control of our manufacturing and ensure the product is replicated as closely as possible and is the same no matter where it is purchased. Our Thailand manufacturing program is something I am extremely proud of and helps us achieve not only high quality, but enables us to service the global demand for our product.”

TBH I have always found most of the boards made in Thailand by brands to be pretty good quality unlike many Bali boards
