Turnbull rolls over "again" to the ultra right
tonybarber wrote:Ylocal.. You referenced the problem as being global (??). Can't help there. 'Welfare' in Aus takes many forms. Sure we need welfare but all as is now ? Are you saying there are no rorts ? "Let's make sure the needy get help and not the rorters.
Hence let's get a budget where we can create jobs, confidence and it follows , better welfare for the needy.
Tony, again don't need your help, need your position, ie: 'yes' or 'no' on whether you think the increasing divide between the rich and poor is a problem.
You are avoiding this question and also a simple question from Floyd which is whether or not you believe in human impacted global warming. These questions are important for you to answer, because it identifies whether you have considered these overarching concerns in your opinions on things such as welfare or climate policy.
If you avoid these questions, anybody reading these forums could comfortably conclude that these fundamental issues aren't even taken into consideration by you when giving your opinion on developing or removing proposed remedies to a problem that Australia is vulnerable to.
You won't simply confirm if you believe these concepts are even an ethical issue for concern or not?
Terrible for your credibility Tony!
Ylocal...I thought we were talking about budget deficit ?
Credibility is not relevant but solutions are. Rich or poor - what's the measurement ?
I have a few boards and get in the water often - I'm rich.

Haha blatant effort to avoid the question. we are clearly discussing the spread of wealth.
I might hazard a guess and conclude that you are concerned that if you answer on the simple question about your position on the issue of the divide between rich and poor and also the cause of climate change, then you risk compromising all of your arguments on welfare and climate policy.
Truth is, if it makes you uneasy about being frank and publicly accepting/denying that they are major issues facing society, of course people are going to be uneasy about your underlying agenda on the policies relating to them.
tonybarber wrote:Credibility is not relevant but solutions are.
had to re-quote this, it sums up the current Government perfectly.
That's the message:
-We'll fix climate problems our own way, it doesn't matter if our solutions aren't credible.
Ylocal...stay focused man and you might see we were talking about the budget and how big it is or was. Sure there is debate on how to bring down the deficit and as we can some of the proposals are not popular - fair enough .
Rich and poor divide - again what is the measure ? What is a 'rich' person ? You have to measure this. Read the blog on INDO land.
Truthfully that is not easy question to answer hence how do you say it's getting wider ?
Easy to ramble on about problems - hard to propose solutions.
yocal
agree with you big time
but mate, science is not based on fact- thats why i laugh at this misperception. Your analysis of how scientist come to prove something is indeed the way it is done and we now know lots of things because of this.
But how can you explain the recent phenomenom where it is proven that a scientists observation/ belief systems influence the scientific result, time and time again. Does consciousness really effect matter- it appears it does. So I would say the science gives us a particular understanding, not always facts.
Your point about australia missing out on a huge sustainable worldwide renewable markets is spot on.
"Easy to ramble on about problems - hard to propose solutions."
What if "problems" aren't really problems at all? What if some problems are manufactured to gain a specific outcome? A specific solution?
6% unemployment... let's raise it to 10% to cover "hidden unemployment"...... That means in a glass half full world that 9 out of 10 able bodied people have work.... 90%..... 90% is a good mark in anyones book......
But if we manufacture a problem, let's say "full employment".... Then we can gain political traction over something that is not real, a furphy.... Full employment is a kumbaya pipedream... And if such a thing occurred, how could one open a new business if there is no one to employ? I suppose we'll need the "boat people" then..... We'll import workers.... Ohhh... hang on.... That's already happening.... Even though we have a "job shortage"..........
The whole thing is a freekn joke, but I'm not laughing.....
As far as science goes;
eggs are bad..... The science is in......ohh.. No they're not... Eggs are good... the science is in.....
Sun is good... No... it's bad... No .. It's good......
Multi vitamins are good for you.... Uh oh... They're useless...
Carbon is the basis of all life and co2 is needed for plants otherwise we'd all be dead due to no photosynthesis, no oxygen...... Whoops.... Hang on.... Co2 is poison.....

Will have to bow out if we're talking quantum physics Dave, that shit scares me haha! Only question I throw back at you is that how do you separate a fact from belief when fact is based on a combined consciousness of consent and understanding of the way things are... like science logic.

not a problem Tony you clearly deny that it exists or don't understand the concept. Thanks for your time

yocal, you have answered your own question!
fact/belief/consciousness/consent/understanding/logic- research the words and you will see, but eg for clarification, u say the understanding of the way things are- 99.9% of all cells are empty space. is this a fact or a belief or an understanding of the way things are?????? does your scientific logic allow you to know this when you look at your body- mate- your mostly just space- scientific fact- me, I'm just a wasted space. as for Tony Barber, a rich person is one who is happy to be himself/herself and treat others equally, a poor person is one who doesn't.

Sheepy, I dont think they realise that all this is just a VIRTUAL REALITY. The most sophisticated ever created. F..K they are going to get a big surprise when they die and realised the whole lot is being made up and Homer Simpson was the scriptwriter getting chauffered by Mr Maggoo who was getting advice and living in Fawlty Towers.
wow I think we killed the Abbott thread by going to the centre of the universe. Sorry Floyd.
OFF TOPIC??????
YOWWIE
yocal wrote:wow I think we killed the Abbott thread by going to the centre of the universe. Sorry Floyd.
No, yocal.... Abbott is like some sort of indestructible terminator dude.... It can't be killed..... Unlike the rest of us...... Which brings me to a quite disturbing study I have just read........
Apparently, and this has been verified by science, this study that I have read reckons that;;;;;; 100% of all humans that have lived, have died....... 100%.... Very alarming.... Scary........ That means you're gonna die, yocal...... There's no doubt about it.... You will die.... So will Rave, So will I..... Floyd, Barbs, Uplift, Welly, Mitch.... Dead.... Gone.... More carbon into the atmosphere......
And we can immerse ourselves in bullshit along the way to this inevitable demise......Our choice..... We can allow the Abbotts and Gillards of the world to make our puny amount of time on this planet a sour melancholy existence, or we can at least leave an echo of decency....decency....decency...........
Ohhh.... BTW, Abbott sux...... And Shorten has no spine.....
no mate i'm not even scared! i'm Joining Team Australia, investing big in petroleum stocks so I can go down in history as the richest motherfucker to ever die!!!
But seriously,
I'm rich as, got a quiver of sticks and get 2 hrs of surf in almost every weekend...
I raise you that quiver of sticks, and a semi rural lifestyle on a forgotten coast ;)
sorry floyd if we went on a tangent, but really this political system is so convoluted i just have to treat it as a joke. They will create one controversy after another and always pick someone to blame or target for their INEFFICIENCY. Basically the whole thing makes me feel less than happy and I can see that it wont change regardless of who has the POWER. So I have a tendency to focus on things that make me feel good and these fucking clowns definetely dont do that.

thats because i used her so much, i used all the patches. hey what does BTW mean?
No Problem davetherave. Most people are pissed off with their politicians regardless from what side they lean to - left or right or the middle. If you ask these people what is wrong with politics/politicians they will cite reasons like: lies; spin; inability to speak clearly; broken promises; not representing the electorate etc etc.
Thanks floyd, i was actually coaxed to Canberra to run as an independent/green emphasis and spent three weeks in the house and senate and meeting lobbyists- the true space cadets of what goes on. I declined all offers, some are still pissed at me. But I now work by myself, my research skills and my knowledge of local, state, and federal legislation means i can get things done. This is a quandary as i advocate all of us working together- unified- but the amount of meetings, bargains to gain consensus pisses me off. So I work alone, I know what I am doing and what i do is for the benefit of all now, and for the future but in a way that does not take away the quality of life we now haVE- OR SPANK ME, WHAT WE USED TO HAVE- was it better then or was it because the experience was so new and exhilirating? memories are gold, but new experiences are platinum.

hey shaggy saints man, i think LOL is actually lots of laughter, but i really have very little grasp of the new text inspired language=fuck i can hardly speak and write english, but pretty good at bullshit
no.one should get money for doin fuck.all..we have created generations of welfare dependant useless fucks ..we should take a leaf out of new zealands book and only give out vouchers that cannot be spent on booze etc..as for climate change its been around well before humans got here...what happened to the dinosaurs?????
Does getting an inheritance qualify as getting money for doing fuckall? If so we should turf Gina, Packer and Murdoch into the gutter where they belong.....
@YorkS…by your reckoning we should turf out anybody who gets an inheritance ?
Not turf out, just tax. I include myself in that equation as I stand to receive a decent inheritance and trust fund when my parents pass. I'm quite happy to pay more tax on them if it means I live in a society where their aren't large groups of people living in cardboard boxes like their are in other countries.
What are you going accuse me of this time barber? Last time you didn't agree with my opinion it was supporting a terrorist organisation, this time......communism?
'we have created generations of welfare dependant uselesslessless... less fucks'
How dare you!!!! No they are not, they are surfin' champeens! Heroes!!! Legends!!!
And they are taumatised enough!!! STOP!!!!!
Blimey..... I disagree with barbs on the deficit.... I disagree with yorko on inheritance..... I disagree with gonad man on "we have created generations of welfare dependant useless fucks "..... I disagree with uplift on........ I just disagree with uplift......... :p heheheheee......
Ylocal...time for a surf man. I don't believe there were any accusations directed at you. I think the tax or low tax problem has been mentioned and yep that is problem for all countries especially US, Aus, UK. Murdoch is just taking advantage of the poor loop holes. Packer is making his money in China.
If you want to go and support communism, go and have look at Nth Korea. Go for it. I don't reckon Aus would go for it.
Barber I just had my sixth surf for the week today so no problem there. Go back and re-read your comment where you accused me of supporting ISIS because I expressed my misgivings about Abbott and the Coalition dragging us into another war(again)!
It was as ridiculous as accusing me of supporting communism as I am a member of a political party in Australia so obviously believe in our political system.
It's easy to hide behind a keyboard and make such comments, your just another Internet troll in my opinon.
Ahhh. The old "North Korea line".... Gonad man, take note......... Barbs, Nads, I suppose I could say "if you don't like living in a country with a welfare state, Go live in North Korea.... Or South Africa, or Haite, or Liberia, or Sudan, or Laos, or even the USA..... Total poverty... Muggings, gangs and murder for survival.... Not this pseudo pretend gang bullshit here.... Real fuckn kill or be killed.....
Gonad man.... Your comment which uplift satirised.... "we have created generations of welfare dependant useless fucks "..... Mate, ya gotta stop listening to Alan Jones, stop watching Tracy Grimforsure, don't read Andrew Bolt..... It's bullshit designed to rile up the purple rinse brigade whilst they count their shares and play bridge......
Fact - There are currently 11 638 400 people working in Australia.
Fact - There are currently 764 100 unemployed people..
Fact - of these unemployed people, 19.6% of the 764 100 are considered "long term unemployed" (having not worked for a period longer than 52 weeks)..... The rest of the 764 100 people have worked in the past year...
So, what is 19.6% of 764 100?...... 149 763....... Not even 150 000 people in a country of 24 000 000, with a workforce of nearly 11 650 000 ( round up for cash in hand workers)...... Mate, that's not even the population of Townsville..... So your comment "we have created generations of welfare dependant useless fucks " just doesn't stack up, mate..... Might sound great to self righteous baby boomers watching a Current Affair, but it aint real....
They (long term unemployed) cost the country about 1.7 billion p/a..... the cost of the paintjob on one of our new useless fighter planes.....
Now when we say "cost the country", one has to remember that the $450 per fortnight they are given gets spent at woollies, is given to landlords, spent at the corner shop, keeping the wheels of this country turning... Shit man, even if they are buying a foily of dope, that money probably goes to a hippy farmer who buys friggn lentils at the health food shop..... Some of them get more than 450, but some (eg - those who have declare partners income) get less... So 450 is a good number... And btw, in the USA, which has no welfare after six months unemployment, there long term unemployment rate is over double that of Australia's..... Think about it.....

Yeh, but you left out some of the other 'pensions'. And I know at least one of those poor fuckers, that is spending the next few days in a state of massive 'traumatisation'.
STOP PRESS!!!!!!!!!!! In an amasing turn of events that extremely traumatisationalised sod has since been saved by Newstart, who have sent him all expenses paid, to Fiji of all places, for extensive, post stress, detraumalising and counselling.
When economic crisis arises, there comes foreclosure, recession, bankruptcy and rising unemployment rate. We find that personal joblessness experience translates into negative opinions about the effectiveness of democracy and it increases the desire for a rogue leader. Evidence from people who live in European countries suggests that being jobless for more than a year is the source of discontent. We also find that well-educated and wealthier individuals are less likely to indicate that democracies are ineffective, regardless of joblessness. Learn more at https://personalmoneynetwork.com/.

Yer yer.... Newstart?..... Sent him to Fiji?....... I think you better get your facts right..... And we were talking about the unemployed, not aged pensions, or disability, or single mums.... Tell us a story about a single mum, uplift, maybe one that has had 4 different kids to different dads..... Tarred the disabled.. Might as well tar the shiela's too ;)
Seeings we've gone from the unemployed to everyone, I can't mention names or places, but I know , and have known, so many people working cash in hand.... there are jobs down here right now, cash in hand..... There'd be no way you could do these jobs and do the c/link shuffle/ work diary/ work for the dole/ job network interviews/meetings...... So people simply take the cash in hand work..... Early to rise sort of work..... Good money from what I've heard...Heaps of people doing it..... None of them paying tax..... Unlawful..... Then, I know of an old retired trucky up north on the aged pension.... He does something on the side...... Not declaring, not paying tax, getting full pension, and he is the first old c*nt to spit it at young'ns, watches Grimforsure and judge judy and Bolt and listens to Jones.... "Fuckn bludgers".... MY tax!!!!".... Fuckn hypocrite... If he was declaring his $200 earnings a week, if he was having his pension reduced and paying taxes, he could sit on his high horse.... Fuckn hypocrite....
Not on the stats sheet, these cash in handers and bigots.... Just like your "traumatised mate".....
BTW - let's increase it to 200000..... Geelong is 230000.... AmaSing.....
Please.... Continue... ;)
'Yer yer.... Newstart?..... Sent him to Fiji?....... I think you better get your facts right..... And we were talking about the unemployed, not aged pensions, or disability,'
Shit, sorry... I think, well maybe, I got it wrong! Maybe it was Chicken souffl'e and dropkickstart who sent him to Fiji to detraumalise?
Well well. Haven't you opened up a can of worms now sheepy? All that personal training you've done uplift? Legit? Declared?
What about that work you did with Toddy? Did you put it all through the books and pay tax on that income?
And others? Nudge Nudge, Wink Wink?
Just asking?
Toddy? Just like helping people on here. Free. For lots of other people too, ie Pasquale, among hundreds of others. When I charge for training, I always declare it. Hard to believe a surfer would do that eh?
Glad we've clarified that uplift I would hate to think of you as one of those slimy scamming tax dodgers like Murdoch and half of corporate Australia!
Me? I even helped out me traumatationalisedless 'maaaayyye' too. I'm sure he'll mention me in the book though!

Thanks heaps for the wing work out still using it, solid wing now for sure
Cheers champ;)
No worries welly.
Yorked, in those often moments, special moments, deep, moving moments, when you are thinking of me, just think of me as the big guy. The big humble, good looking, rawboned guy. This guy.
'Let this serve as certifications for the work ethic and moral character of Michael Bourne for the purpose of employment or any other purpose as necessary.
My name is Jennifer Van Ryckeghem a Canadian national. I live in Philippines together with my husband of 10 years and two kids. I started a non-profit organization in 2001 and have been over seeing projects on site ever since.
I have a very busy schedule and never had found a way to incorporate exercise into my daily life. I had heard of Mike’s personal training background and observed his positive effects in the local community where he visited. Michael developed a system similar to TRX training. The local surfer groups are now exercising more diligently focusing on core strength in order to better the way they surf. Michael models what he teaches and I believe because we could see how he chose to eat healthy and exercise it encouraged other men and women to make more effort in their own self-exercise.
I personally took advantage of Mike’s personal training services 2 – 3 times a week because I saw his positive influence in the municipality where I live. He adapted a routine that was easy enough for me to do by myself yet providing a small challenge to increase strength everyday. As I maintained routine in my exercise Mike had the experience to help me each step of the way informing me how my body would respond as I worked a little harder in my programme. It was obvious Mike was passionate about health but also had experience in dietary concerns because he was also able to help me focus on eating better food to achieve the results I wanted.
I am so thankful that Michael Bourne made the time for me to render his services. I would recommend him to anyone serious about getting back into shape. I would also suggest hiring him to help you truly achieve your fitness dreams if you notice a plateau in your weight loss.
Feel free to email me with any questions.'
I know its enough to make you chuck yorked, but, I've honestly got hundreds of the fuck'n things. You can have some if you want yorkling. Anyway, turn on lifty, hate lifty if you will, let these big shoulders carry the frustration, but, as you are, as we all are, always remain loyal to Phil... and the corgis. What gets my gripe is blokes like uplift , who carry on being self declared legends well into their Eightees ....
When is there ever time for the new up and comers ....
All I've ever wanted to be is a has been , and people like him and Tommy Haffey ( god rest his soul ) keep making me wait in line !!!
That's an impressive set of references lifty you "big humble, good looking, rawboned guy" and with a heart of gold too by the sounds of things! Just a little misunderstood perhaps?
All you had to do was get out of the car, or take the right turn off souffl'e. Throwing away the high chair might have helped too. Anyway be happy you were a never been.
Where'd you surf yesterday uplift .................
Oh don't worry , I've BEEN ......
Here , there ...... I just don't leave a trail .
Blacks. I surfed it in a 'special', a champ's way too! I didn't even have to get out of the car! Excelled in me risk/reward calculations, borrowed a famous quote, and screeched to all and sundry that there was no point, that I would simply 'charge too hard', snapped every board I came in contact with... not because I'm a kook, but because I shred... then to top it, off realised I'd taken the wrong turnoff and was surfin' and chargin' heaps heavier shit. And I rescued 'the kid' off the rocks while I was at it too!!! Not that he would remember.
No-one got anything to say about the loss of the car industry under a government and high viz Tony that promised to create 1,000,000 jobs?
Slumber away ........
