Turnbull rolls over "again" to the ultra right

Don't confuse moral panic mongering with a very real existential threat, if not directly to Australia, to many liberal democratic states in Europe, including Turkey.
Turkey??!!??. You are joking, right?.... And since when has Iraq or Syria had nuclear weapons? Are they with the WMD's that never existed.....?.... Once again, fiction dressed up as fact, lizard man.... But tell me, do you feel safer now that journalists cant report on botched "missions"? Do you feel safer now that ASIO can legally sneek into your abode, "search" your computer, then leave without you knowing?...
Lastly, name one civil war that the west has entered, that hasn't ended in tears.... Korea? Nope.... Vietnam?..... Nope...... Afghanistan - still going - nope..... El Salvador?..... Nope..... Iraq?...... Nope.....
What is it about 'failed states' (plural) and 'war apparatus' that I didn't make clear? Heard of Pakistan?
And don't conflate the position Australia has taken on the ISIS issue with the dopey approach Abbot's goverment has taken on other issues, including expanding ASIO's ambit.

Were we involved in that war? lol... And yeah, no racism or slavery in modern day USA... Just ask Rodney King... BTW, I meant external civil wars, you know, ones not on western soil..... :p
Allow me a sidebar issue on our Honorable Prime Minister:
In 2010 Abbott opposed Kevin Rudd trying to secure a seat on the United Nations Security Council. And when Abbott opposes something you know it's opposed with vehemence:
"It was not a good use of taxpayers' money in tough economic times."
"There are vastly higher priorities for Australia right now than pursuing a seat on the security council."
etc etc etc...dropping the bid would save the gubbament a whopping $5.7 million!
In 2012, despite Abbott's displeasure, Australia won a seat on the UN Security Council.
And now in 2014 - irony of ironies! - Abbott is using Australia's position on the council to speak to the international community about MH-17 ("I'm going to shirtfront Putin") and about ISIS. If it weren't for Rudd (and later Gillard's) push for a seat Abbott would have no platform to speak.
All hail a leader with vision!
floyd wrote:With all due respect stu you are pointing out the bleeding obvious. Abbott hasn't a principled bone in his body and will say and do anything in the name of political power.
Of course I am, and of course he is. But a factual example is better than a broad generalisation.
Consider yourself armed the next time Tony Babs, Nick 3 or the Grocer happen along.
@Floyd…somehow taking money from health workers by Labor hierarchy and ministers having a good time in brothels doesn't sam to bother you. Well just put your paramedic hat on and see how it feels when your union is pissing your money up against the wall and building themselves (and family and mates) holiday houses up the coast. Until we get this cleaned up, we (Labor) are in the shit.
@Floyd…you seem to have selective reading. Ok, then if you are really concerned, then join the Labor party and find out for yourself…easy to do. The corruption I saw was at the Federal level, simple. What concerned us Laborites is that we could not get anything thru or assistance because of the corruption. So Labor may have good intentions & policies but if there is corruption then those policies are worth zilch. May be read the election of Gough - you may get a sense of what the 1970s politics was about.
Juice Rap News ft. Abbott
" Power without glory " authored by Frank Hardy . A great Australian book will give you a bit of an insight into the way power in Australia is controlled through a historical perspective. Great read.
The author had his health and livelihood threatened by a few strata of society after it came out. Still very relevant.
I wouldn't mind giving Frank's daughter " Marieke " a bit of my own " power then glory " ....
What did Abbott promise Australians before the election? AUGUST 11, 2013, Tony Abbott; ""The only party that will raise taxes after the election is the Labor Party."
Really, Tony? Then explain this.......
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-10-28/tax-on-petrol-to-increase-on-novem...
"EXCISE" - "a TAX levied on certain goods and commodities produced or sold within a country and on licences granted for certain activities"
not to mention a rise in gst on the way, the gaul of the cunt
My fellow ANZACS, you should be worried about scabott.
A rise in GST will only hurt the poor who are already struggling to survive. Case in point NZ.
NZ is now on 15 % GST, we invented that shit and your govt followed. Just like eftpos.
We have one in 4 kids living below the poverty line, in time your country will follow this too.
The National party just got re-elected, first act to push through parliament is to AXE SMOKOS
YES they want people to work the WHOLE day with NO breaks. If it happens here it will be a matter of time before it happens there.
We are just a template for social/political experiments in NZ,
Beware cobbers this aint ridgy didge. You want to know what oz will be like in 20 years, have a look at what NZ is like now.
I heard that when Tony Abbott was born he had such a small dick that for the first six months his parents raised him as a girl, explains a lot.
floyd wrote:A few of you reckon abbott "engineered" this war of terror/IS thing. We haven't heard from Pyne or Hockey for awhile so being the international man of action seems to be working for the little sucker.
Anyway I've been onto this video for a couple of weeks .... well worth a look, its about the facile arguments about muslim violence that we have been fed via Uncle Murdoch
Let me get this straight. Abbott created the Isis death cult as a distraction and Murdoch has been feeding us Muslim violence to help with Abbotts distraction.
I bet sheepdog is lapping this shit up. Lol.
Hang on a minute Floyd , I think you need to expand on how Abbott has managed to convince all the leaders of the western world in distracting the Australian voters from the budget troubles of the government. While your at it you might want to tell everyone how Murdoch has "fed " all this Muslim head lopping to the poor gullible Australian citizen .
Take it away comrade.
grocer.... Can you run that first sentence by me again? It makes no sense....
"While your at it you might want to tell everyone how Murdoch has "fed " all this Muslim head lopping to the poor gullible Australian citizen ."...... a few pages back, when Isis was front page stuff due to head lopping, I put up a few links to the front pages of newspapers in countries that aren't involved in going to Iraq with us, unlike England, and the USA...... Japan, Brazil etc...... At the time, headlopping/isis didn't even make headlines.... In fact, when those poor souls were trapped on top of the mountain surrounded by isis, it didn't even make the first 5 pages..... But in Australia, England, USA, the tabloids went beserk.... 2 reasons - 1 is to sway public opinion for involvement. And 2, it sells......
Problem is Abbott/Brandis have over reached with their anti free media laws, so Rupert sent little lachy to slap Tony on the wrist....
Anyway, the bombing in the middle east continues.... Bombs now falling on Syria
http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/11/06/us-mideast-crisis-syria-nusra-...
But Rupert has not one story on it.....
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/?nk=b247875e879cea7094b6ff6205e00eae
Funny that, grocer.........
sheepgod, I don't like Australia's shithouse media/broadcasting rules/law...we really are behind the times and I can't wait until commercial television is deemed unprofitable because it worse than crap and id be happy to see it gone...but when it comes to ISIS im afraid these pricks have gotta go. yeah its beat up and sensationalised naturally, but the threat is there to Australian territory specifically - its been said plain and clear, and now that Iraq has approved our ground forces we get to take these pricks down.
dog...sorry.
gday, happy... Yeah they're arseholes... No doubt..... But I can only draw on previous "interventions" by the west to see if this will be successful... Vietnam??? Nope..... Korea???? Nope..... Iran late 70s??? Nope.... Saddam1??? Nope.... Saddam2??? Nope.... Libya??? Nope.... Afghanistan??? Nope..... Sudan?? Nope.....
So..... what makes you think that this will succeed? And why are they bigger arseholes than North Korea??? Or Mugabe in Zimbabwe? .... No oil in North Korea....No oil in Zimbabwe..... That's why "they"hate us... We pretend to be the "world moral police", but only when our interests are involved.... If the west was the world moral police, we'd intervene when Mugabe slaughters his own, or when children are butchered in North Korea.....
Yeah they are total low lifes, happy (isis).... But I can't see it ending well... I can't see it ending....And I don't have the answer.....
the planet has the answer and humanity may not like it, especially since they refuse to see they brought in on themselves, there is a tipping point to a closed system, earth's biosphere, and when one part of that system causes too much dysfunction, the built in law of functionality and sustainability takes over to pull that dysfunctional part back into balance. Watch this space, huge storm brewing near Alaska as I type.
floyd wrote:Morgan Stanley says we are headed for a recession without stimulus policies from the Abbott government & 50% of businesses surveyed rate Abbott's 1st year as poor to very poor.
Just thought I would run that news by you grocer.
Say what?
BUSINESS conditions jumped by a record amount in October, hitting their highest level since early 2008 on the back of a strong start to the fourth quarter, according to a private survey.
National Australia Bank’s monthly business survey showed a sharp jump in business conditions — the largest monthly increase in the history of the survey — up 12 points on the index, to a reading of 13.
I must say , the building trade is booming where I live , then again I live in a state which is run by the LNP . I feel sorry for you poor bastards in Tassy and South Australia. The Labor / greens have totally fucked those economies.
Yeah it's bloody awesome isn't it! No corruption north of the tweed, just legitimate businesses booming!
Well, booming with a bit of help from Seeney for his mates...

Seeney again...

These guys are brilliant aren't they grocer. Those stupid pansy lefties always whinging and demanding a "level playing field". Ha! Dream on losers the field never was level and the sooner you get used to it and figure out your rightful place the better we'll all be. Sick of hearing their bleating, aren't you grocer???
It'd be funny if we weren't talking about a bunch of cronks fleecing everyone else.

Russian warships off Qld... Cmon, Abbott... Let's see you turn back these boats....
http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2014/nov/12/liberal-party-camp...
Meanwhile looks like the Victorian state election campaign is going well for the Coalition?
This guy should have learned a lesson from Tasmainian Coalition senator Eric Abetz to bury your NAZI background a little deeper if possible?
Sung to the tune of "Hitler"...
Abbott, he only has one ball
Bishop has two but not as small
fat-boy Hockey, while very cocky
has no fucken balls at all.
Chorus
Abbott, he only has one ball
the other hangs on Andrew Bolts wall
His mother the dirty bugger
sucked it off when he was small.
Yeah needs a bit more work. Cheers.
possibly the worse government I have ever seen.... Definitely the worse coalition government.
Well, that depends on how many you have actually experienced. McMahon's was not much good. I think the Libs are getting the message. They'll pull back on some of the budget policies and still have a couple of years. My concern is that Labor just has not got the message.
Last term of fraser was fairly average too, Barbs..... But this one takes the cake... Neither McMahon nor Fraser tried to blackmail both the parliament and the Australian people.... "You don't pass the fuel levy, we'll give the money to the fuel companies then"...... Outrageous......
Here you go, Barbs, Floyd...... http://www.theage.com.au/federal-politics/political-opinion/conservative...
When Janet, Bolt, and Jones are whining, you know things are pretty screwed..... Over to you, Barbs... ;)
As she said - please explain 'blackmail the Australian people' ? I thought the Greens wanted a high fuel tax ?
I believe Howard stopped the indexing of fuel levy but now its back in. Interesting though, because the price of petrol (for us mugs) varies every couple of days. You could say that if you time it right then the fuel levy wouldn't mean much.
You know the weird shit @flog? I think I agree with you!! Abbott has lost his shit. A couple things though...a:he cant pull out the misogyny card...and b:who the fuck has labor got to vote for?
Well Sheeps, at least we have a democracy and we can say what we like as Jones and Bolt do. They do say some pretty dumb things but thats freedom for you. Many may not like what they say but they say it - just like you. You might wish to chase up the fuel tax and how it works. Good for the global warming.
"You might wish to chase up the fuel tax and how it works. Good for the global warming."
Bullshit...... Good for the bottom line.... That's if it doesn't get handed back to the petrol co's.....YOU might wish to check the climate change thread to get a grasp on my opinion re' "global warming".....
Oh, and we can't say what we like..... Freedom of speech is a furphy...... Remember Howard's "sedition laws"? Now Abbotts metadata laws..... The left's laws on just about every facet of speech.... Comedians soon wont be able to even joke about a chicken crossing the road, cos some hairy armpitted vegetarian will take offence......
Nah, mate..... You got me all wrong.....
Haha tit for tat hey @floyd? And shorten is all labors got!! Thats funny.at least tonys got his balls out..doin the cutting labor are scared of. I reckon barnaby should lead the nationals and liberals would win the next election if turnbull was leader..wonder if they will do it?
Turnbull isn't that hated, Floyd..... Hated by the neocon faction and the Bolt brigade.... But he only lost to Abbott by 1 vote ( I think)...
Shorten is a liability.... Abbott would be already gone if Labor had a 1/2 decent leader.... It's a shame John Faulkner is in the upper house...... He is a great man..... Labor may still win under Shorten, but it will be the 3rd election win by default in 3 elections ( Gillard d Abbott, Abbott d Rudd, and maybe Shorten d Abbott).....
Sad times....
Go john Faulkner, thw only man that can save the labor, the so called 'generation xers' (who incidently are about as gen x as Justin Bieber) just seem like bumbling idiots.
Same goes for gen x liberal ie. Abbott Hockey, though not quite as bumbling
No-one got anything to say about the loss of the car industry under a government and high viz Tony that promised to create 1,000,000 jobs?
Slumber away ........
