A super complex situation in many ways. But, at a larger geopolitical level, it may be simpler.

A big picture theme to watch.

The US cannot tolerate a future with the BRICs concept developing strongly particularly with it dominating the ME oil rich nations. The ME has been recently turning away from the US - even Saudi Arabia.

Geopolitical Plan A - is develop friendly aligned and subservient support from nations
Geopolitical Plan B - is chaos - they can work with that - and in the ME the oil will still flow

Iran is at the center of the BRICs in the ME. It is firmly in the cross hairs.

We have the Armistice Day march which will be huge maybe a million people, and on another separate route we've got the Palestinian march which may be 100,000 strong ending near the US embassy, and on a separate circuit toward the City we've got the Lord Mayor's show doing a circuit, AND on top of that we've got the Football Lads deploying to protect monuments from jihadists, and not to be confused with them we also have the Football Lads Alliance who sound the same but are the opposite doing a march of their own, AND we've got (only) 2000 police deployed to sort out the lot of them.

Personally i think the damage Israel are doing day by day, week by week is going to come back to bite them pretty severely down the track.
It seems their goal and objective is not reflected in their outcomes at all.
I'm finding it hard to find any sympathy or goodwill for Israel or Israelis at this moment in time.

I don’t agree with everything Israel is doing. I have said a ceasefire would be good to negotiate and try to get remaining hostages freed.

I do support Israel’s right to defend itself now and for the future.

I find that hard to believe any parent could ever think that way. 0r think that way of other parents.
I can understand their current thought process is one of utility while trapped inside an Israeli prison..about the size of the gold coast. The greater good for their kids.
How that looks to you and me might not sit in our own paradigms of whats right and wrong...but then..they are prisoners trapped inside a warzone.
Not sure what other options they have right now.
I do understand why you'd say that but i think there's a bigger picture at work that needs to be scrutinized for the real answers.

In politics it’s said that you should never waste a good crisis none better at that than successive Israeli governments.

Israel absolutely has the right to defend itself but what is happening now isn’t that.

For nearly 3500 years ,the land of Palestine was established as Israel.
King David named the capital Jerusalem.
Many conquerors came and devastated the place over many years.
Many times the Israelis returned home after invasions , the last time being in 1948 when the world declared that Israel should have its land back only on a smaller scale.
A two state solution was proposed and Israel was given a choice of a much smaller than the original country and the Arabs the rest.
Israel agreed as they were tired of war and anything was better than nothing.
The islamists disagreed and refused the two state solution and committed to driving Israel into the sea and wiping them out.
All the Islamic armies got together to destroy Israel and lost.
Many good non Islamic Bedouin Arabs live happily in Israel to this day as they come from the same family line.
Islam must conquer the world ….it is their mission statement and Israel is a thorn in their side….a tiny country that they just can’t beat.
Israel is a marker, an indicator for the state of the world.
If Israel falls to Islam the whole world will fall.
Their infiltration throughout the world is carefully planned.
Politics and media carefully infiltrated.
Most refugees are fleeing from Islam itself as nearly 100% of all global wars are Islamic conquest wars.
For 3500 years Israel has given the world insight into how to live a peaceful and prosperous life with social order and hygiene , justice and equality but it’s now our turn push back on the enemies of freedom and the islamic haters of democracy.
Islam will never conquer Israel as they will never conquer us if we refuse to let them.
