The Soar/Josh Keogh/Harry Bryant quad G10 fins now available from their site.
https://www.soarfin.com/shopfins/p/g10-hq22
Also doing Dahlberg medium/large and AM large in g10.
Cheaper than g10 fins from futures, fcs, glide or importing from NVS particularly if you're getting the fcs 1.5s.
Futures base thrusters are $45 extra at soar.

No real Weight Saving or any other Gain ?

Negligible one would think... And Trottsky already states his Fins are Thinnest on market so there's a saving there ?
Small Saving in Machining Time ..Endorfins dont do it .

Yeh I think on the G10s probably unnecessary as they already light and for big wave boards anyway.
But for traditional full fibreglass fins in a small wave lightweight thruster might make a difference.
And endorfins are different tech to be light and float aren’t they?

I normally run with medium fins (FCS), i'm 75kg. Have got myself a larger board for heavy water 7'3 47L tri fin (futures). I need to buy a set of futures- thinking the EA's -medium. Though have heard that people often go with smaller fins in bigger boards. What are peoples thoughts. As fins aren't cheap looking for some feedback before purchasing.
Cheers

Regarding going smaller fins in bigger boards, it’s usually because of the hold you get from the longer rail and often tighter tails.
If you’ve got a big wide tail you could stick with the large.

Even with a wide tail ,
The desert storm do not have "tight tail" they are wide and made for turning.
large fins and large board feel like road trains. The basic principle is that in weak waves you will benefit from bigger fins, (or in strong offshore winds.)
In powerful waves use small fins, because the wave is pushing you.
Think sails on yachts,
Light wind- big sail, strong wind- small sail.
As long as the wind is light and waves clean then small fins best.
The benefit of having fin boxes you can change is you can use a variety of fins suited for the situation.

Hi clam
Thanks for all your tips in this and the DS thread. I ride DS's. Great boards. And thanks to everyone elses input too.
If running Kemper fins on a 7'6" DS can the board get too loose? Say in ten foot clean surf?
What about in hollow steep take offs... are larger fins (like the EA's) better for hold during take off? How important are fins in take offs... or is it all about the tail shape and rail for getting hold in sketchy take offs?
Cheers.

We have a couple in our Zaps - they have great hold, pivot very well so the board can be whipped off the tail. Used in combination with Geoff's 'Loaded Dome' bottom design and all soft edges, which likes hollow waves.

There's one problem with fins like this, they catch weed and legropes, usually when you have just paddled into the best wave all day, as luck would have it, and the fkn leash gets caught around the fin, I was enjoying riding these fins for awhile, but after too many perfect waves kooked by the leash wrapping around the fin, I had to retire the fin, unfortunately. Best if you don't need a leash and you can surf free of tangles,

Small fins are better in powerful and sucky waves, the exception is offshore wind choppy devil winds then fins work great.
Think of bodyboards, and how they don't have fins, why do they Excell in hollow waves? How does a widetail boog with no fins ride sick pits in slabs, but a pintail with 3 or 4 fins catches going down a sucky wave, fins are sold in away that tricks you into getting a big set. Small fins cost the same as big size,
There's a recommended weight for fin models , what a load of bollocks, You can use whatever size fin you want, for surfing different conditions and surfcraft . Small to big , but that's why a large amount of surfers have been tricked into using fins bigger than needed,

For Quads I like the Danny Fuller if our can find some 2nd hand
For Thruster I've found the Glide Wayne Lynch WL3 to be the best for me, 7'0' to 8'0' boards.
They have excellent drive, hold and release on top turns. Upright fins with back fin smaller than sides, my preference for solid surf.
I use the fiberglass version in futures. I'm 6'1". 85 kg, lanky with chicken legs.
