The United States(!) of A

Zelensky’s a war criminal and a puppet for the EU globalist socialist clowns. Him and the EU don’t want peace. They be pushing WW3. Ukraine’s the most crooked, shady spot on the map. This whole Ukraine war? It’s just a Biden cash-washing hustle and a power move by the EU and WEF globalist socialist crew to snatch up territory. Ukraine ain’t an ally of the West. All that support the West’s throwin’ their way? Time to pull the plug, bruh.

As for the good ol US of A, i got a pretty depressing message from an ex girlfriend in Massachussettes who is gutted at the moment about what's happening to her country.
While this thread might be shits and giggles for some...a bit of banter, to me it's actually serious and the people posting dumb, unbased bullshit and then running away without actually backing their words up should be banished from being able to have a voice on this topic. Oh and another thing, i was seeing a chick a few weeks ago but broke up with her...because she was a Trump supporter. She was deep into conspiracy theories....just like someone else on here.
Anyway clearly this playspace isn't for me if my unhinged comments are upsetting people so i'll get out of the basement chats.
Burleighs right,...i do have a pattern for it. I just give too much of a fuck and it gets the better of me.
Aloha.

See this post here @burleigh?
Go back and read it if you like. It was a convo i had no part in.
See that's called trolling.
Which gives me the fucking shits.

I won't have any reason to tear strips off you.
Pretty fucken simple.
Are you familiar with the 4 stage cycle of abuse?
Since this post 3 days ago you’ve gone from tension building to last night the explosion phase.
This is nothing new from you.
You give as good as you get, as previous to this post you had several digs at me on another forum on swellnet.
Anyway, if random strangers can see you in the 4 stage cycle then I think you need to speak to someone.
P.s next phase is reconciliation then honeymoon.

stunet wrote:andy-mac wrote:""So do you stand up to him, as some politicians have said - "He only respects strong men."

Do not see it as Black and white as that.
Should the USA just continue same path as Biden admin?
Sorry wasn't talking about the path of the US but the method Zelenskyy uses to engage with the POTUS. Who can say what is best because it changes from day to day - so therefore how can someone be criticised for getting it wrong?
Also, you mentioned Macron's method of engagement, well don't forget Macron cut Trump off and corrected him in front of the cameras.
Anyway this is all penny ante for the greater picture: For decades America has called upon an axis of support. They're now retreating from that at a great rate, allowing another axis to rise.
It's getting hard to see how anyone supporting MAGA also has Australia's interests at heart.
Agree.
Do not understand how MAGA has supporters here.
I've always been pretty critical of US foreign policy, but as bad as the things they may have done, I'd still prefer them as the major world power over what else is on offer.
I believe they could have been a remarkable force for good if the neo cons didn't set agenda since end of cold war.
Their underlying principals are to be admired and sought after even if in reality it is often not the case they practice what they preach.
Again this is a wake up call for Australia.
I don't believe China are a threat as cannot see any benefit in their invading Australia etc.
But saying that, we should be making it as an unattractive idea as possible for the Chinese or anyone else for that matter..

Wipe your lip mate, theres an amazing amount of BS there.

“ Also, you mentioned Macron's method of engagement, well don't forget Macron cut Trump off and corrected him in front of the cameras. “ ……..yes I was thinking about that the other day , Macron is able to correct Trump in front of cameras as his engagement is like two old friends with joking & laughter . He’s won Trump over with how he acts towards him , where as Zelenski is aggressive , argumentative and interrupting Trump which is imitating how Trump acts towards others he doesn’t particularly like and Trump doesn’t like when he sees himself in others .

Does anybody here think that Zelenskyy hasn’t become extremely rich from this war?

Zelenski’s blunder in that video, was in my opinion, losing his cool and attempting to speak while Trump was speaking . We all know Trump loves an audience and when America is watching, he wants to come across as “ he’s the man “ . Trump doesn’t see Zelenski as having too many options and with Zelenski reluctant to sign over minerals without guaranteed protection, then Trump is happy to belittle him in front of the world to show “ who’s the boss “ . Zelenski needs to slow down and think very carefully before responding to Trump, otherwise he sets himself up to be taken down. Look at how Macron handles Trump , very different approach. Plenty of Americans would be backing Trump as they see the US is footing the bill for another stupid war .[/
But Macron isn’t at war with Russia , nor is Trudeau who can both afford to stand up to Trump .

100% agree on the first bit, all Goofy ever does is randomly pops in dissing others for their views, but never actually engages in the conversation with his own thought's and constructive conversation.
But nah SR i disagree i dont think there is any need for Swellnet to do that, it happens naturally, if Swellnet were going to try to artificially stimulate conversation, im sure they would try to do it in topics related to surfing or travel etc
Im sure they would much prefer the forum filled with topics of surfing and travel etc rather than politics and war.
But sadly i think it's just human nature that the topics on surfing and travel etc burn out pretty quickly while all the controversial stuff like Covid, politics, war etc turns into very long threads.

andy-mac wrote:stunet wrote:andy-mac wrote:Just reading some analysis in paper of Trump, Zelensky live spat.
European leaders have all fallen in behind Zelensky apparently,How could it be any other way? Here's a guy who's led a country that for three years has faced existential threat, lost thousands of young lives at the hands of an invasive force (that for fifty years was the murderous enemy of the US), and Trump and Vance played that conference for the domestic audience. Strutting like goons on 'roids demanding 'respeck' - which is just code for 'bow down to us'.
It's coming into ever-sharper focus for every American ally: The US can't be trusted.
So what does it mean for Australia? Do we play the long game and hope like buggery the next administration is consistent and responsible, or is this the beginning of extremists in the Oval Office?
Interesting times, as the Chinese curse goes.
I'm not judging, but my point is does it matter in the sense of improving Ukraine's position?
I would argue it doesn't, and to argue with Trump while being televised is not a real smart move for your negotiating position.
We can all see that Trump is all ego and to try and talk over him even if you have valid points is not going to help your case.USA hold the funds and military resources if they want to this war going, which in my view they should be looking to stop asap. Too many lives lost on both sides.
As Trump said, he holds the cards.
And Ukraine cannot win this without foreign troops and assistance which could lead to WW3?
Will European nations step in? I'm guessing without US support, no.
Should they keep up the status quo?Re the debate on how it started, cannot condone the invasion, but I'm of the view NATO should not have been expanding east and that Russia was never going to continue to accept this expansion.
Can accuse me of repeating Russian talking points, but this does carry on from the end of the Cold War.Would the USA be comfortable with Chinese bases in Cuba or Canada?
Anyway I am just as pointed out commenting on a surf website, and from a position of limited knowledge.
However if you listen to people such as Jeffery Sachs and John Mearsheimer, it is hard to argue against their points and you cannot claim they are coming from a position of ignorance. And as you said the USA has been enemies with Russia for 50 years, the neo cons CIA have done nothing to try and fix this over the last 30 plus years.
And finally yes I think Australia should be looking to get a lot more independent defence wise very quickly.
You summarised it well. This can’t go on. Yes, Trump is insane but many people globally see the US as an imperial, occupying force. The only way to win the war is to send troops to Ukraine. But in doing that, you will get dead bodies returning home. And no one in the US or Europe wants to deal with that.

I feel for them but Ukraine should be happy it took over three years before anyone even suggested doing deals to end the war.
Israel were under pressure from USA and others to do a deal from almost day one and bad deals, and expected to end the war and just keep on living with the threat of Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis etc.
If they had listened to Biden they would never have gone into Raffa, Sinwar would still be alive, they would never have taken on Hezbollah in Lebanon who now are severely weakened and Asad in Syria would never have fallen with Hezbolah & Iran weakened.
It might not have been one public debate like this which isn't good, but the message Iran and it's proxies got from Biden and his actions was USA & Israel are divided, and that plays into an enemies hands and motivates and fuels them and made doing any deal to get hostages back even harder.
Now thats totally flipped Trump as of now is 100% supportive and now they have gained a four year window to defeat their enemies and they are fights that are realistic to win.
I dont know enough about this war to comment too much.
But how realistic is it that Ukraine defeat Russia is this a war they can really win?
Or could this war go on for a decade with no real result?
Of course if Europe actually had the defence spending budgets that they should and backed Ukraine then the war would probably never have been started.

To your point confusion, layoffs in National Parks must be one of the dumbest things the new administration has done. Does Elon understand what the right national parks resource levels need to be? Of course not, he’s just cutting across the board with some random percentage in his head. And what’s he going to save here? A negligible amount in the greater scheme of things. Pretty dumb, national parks are one of the best things the US has. And they are a great source of tourism revenue.

Exactly, Musk wants to cut everything, with no
panning or consideration at all.
He cut the staff overseeing the US nuclear weapons and had to try and rehire them again after their details were deleted,
He’s cut the Consumer Fraud Protection Bureau, which actually returns more money to the government than it costs.
The whole cutting corruption and waste is a giant fraud, because Musk and Trump are the agents of corruption.
Musk isn’t cutting waste, he’s just cutting people.

Zelenski needs to slow down and think very carefully before responding to Trump, otherwise he sets himself up to be taken down. Look at how Macron handles Trump , very different approach. Plenty of Americans would be backing Trump as they see the US is footing the bill for another stupid war .
But France isn’t at war with Russia and nor is Trudeau , who can both afford to stand up to Trump .
France isn’t in war with Russia!? Yeah right. Then why are they financing the war in Ukraine? And talk about it on daily basis?
It's a NATO war against Russia and France is part of NATO
But Ukraine are the ones getting bombs on their heads, so they might be more desperate to end it.
Yes 100%.
It needs to end, that is what my comments are stating.

Good point. Even if it is with a mineral deal with Trump .

Zelensky did well to get a word in there between being tag-teamed.
"During the war everybody has problems even you, but you have nice ocean and don't feel now, but you will feel it in the future..."
Let's hear it for nice oceans separating a country from others with bad designs on them.
Andy-mac - Australia has begun to build an A2-AD network, so we are working on the independent defence bit, it has begun so feel better about that. And making our own missiles, too.
Massive opportunity for France and the UK here, they have stable democracies, respectable militaries, wide influence, strong soft power - and independent nuclear deterrents. I imagine they will extend this over Europe, imagine they extend it over Australia/NZ? We will be seeing a UK carrier visit here this year, and UK SSNs rotating through in a couple of years.
Also, Chinese ships: this happened and was a thing, and now is probably underneath those Chinese ships somewhere:
https://frontline.asn.au/news/uss-minnesotas-visit-highlights-growing-se...
Trump is trying to woo Russia back to a better relationship with the West. To do this, Ukraine (and Europe) get thrown under the bus, (and a large wedgie), respectively. I don't think it will work, as Russian grand strategy is in a long term pivot away from the West. Furthermore, Trump's actions have scared the shit out of Europe/UK, which will duly re-arm and become the superpower it is.
So for us, it looks like the US remains the security benefactor for now. And the abandoning of Europe is so US can pivot and face China in the Pacific - where it has lots of work to do. If we can imagine the US backing off from the Pacific, (unlikely I think), imagine of all places, Europe/UK takes the role of security benefactor for Aus/NZ. Stranger things have happened, and we live in strange times.

Also, a big raspberry for the Democrats, you had to push the 'no borders, mass immigration, identity politics' so hard that US voters had to vote for what is happening now internationally, just to stop those crazy things. Imagine if you had appealed to the working class, even the (gasp!) white working class, or (gasp!) young men? You'd be in government you fools.

What are you getting at?...he was successful monetarily and famous before he started in politics. If you understand that money makes money(?) his wealth has probably grown but you can provide the figures if you like?
Can you imagine burlzzz trying to properly research and provide credible sources for anything? LOLZ
Thought it was a fair question. You all like to mention musk making money from the USA government.
Let me know where you do your research hiccup and I’ll find the opposite. That’s where the truth will be.
You need to learn to construct sentences better, homeboy, cos what does this actually mean? Are you saying you'll look for the opposite source of information than I do if i tell you where I look into things? That's gonna be tricky, cos I look a lot of places. Or, do you mean when I show you what I find, you will find the exact opposite answer somewhere, and what you find is where the truth will be? Or, will the truth be a combination of what I find and also what you find? Please clarify.

This is a particularly retarded take. Always has been. Nothing ‘forced’ Russia to invade Ukraine in 2014, or 2022. Nothing is keeping Russia in Ukraine now.
It’s a land, population and resource grab.

Who gives a fuck if trump didn’t understand or hear correctly.
Fucken kook.
Seriously fuck off.Maybe Burleigh can fuck off overseas for work. It doesn't seem like he's been there since the travel bans were lifted, and he must have heaps to catch up on. He missed out on going what, three times a year, and kicked up a big stink about it. STILL hasn't addressed that, actually, but I'm sure he wasn't lying about it. SURELY NOT!
This is hilarious. Travel for work is something many many people do. And FWIW i have travelled many times per year for work since the boarders opened to the unvaccinated as they should have always been. How would you like me to address it Hiccup, Send you my boarding passes?
Sorry to clog up the discussion more by responding to this dullard everyone, but BRLGH, you are a blowhard of epic proportions. If you had been o/s for work or otherwise, you would 100 percent have come back crapping on about how many more "freedoms" you observed in whichever country it was. Bud, you probably pack shelves at Coles for a living (not that there's anything wrong with that, except for the fact that Coles are fucken crooks).

I'm offended. Should i have a massive tantrum like Southern, tell you to fuck off, call you a kook and have fantasies of beating you up in the street......... Nah i'll just laugh at how wrong you are AGAIN.

Well there are some who would argue against your view with some pretty strong evidence to back it up.
I've mentioned a few previously....
There are many more.
