Recap

Tiny E/NE swells yesterday and today with small S swell yesterday to 2ft, fading into today. Winds have been light but are tending mod N-NE through this a’noon.

This weekend and next week (Nov22- Nov29)

No great change to the weekend outlook. Slow moving high pressure is drifting in the Central Tasman with a classic summer wind signature of NE winds along temperate NSW and extending down to Tasmania.

We’ll see those N’ly winds tomorrow, to NW as a trough approaches. Not much surf with small S swell leftovers to 2ft and minor NE windswell to similar size.

The trough brings W-W/NW winds Sun morning before a S-SE change as it moves northwards up the coast. Again, a very small signal of NE windswell may supply a just rideable wave in the 1-2ft range.

High pressure is still in the Tasman early next week, slowly drifting towards the North Island, with a N-S angled trough approaching from the interior.

We’ll see small days for Mon and Tues as a weak, troughy pattern sits over Tas with a light/variable wind flow.

A NE fetch off the NSW coast should hold a small NE swell to 1-2ft.

Things should improve size-wise from mid-week as a trough and cut-off low approaches from the west.

Expect some revisions on Mon but at this stage we should see a developing E-E/NE flow into the trough, aimed up at NETas, possibly as early as Wed.

Winds feeding into trough of low pressure generate building E-NE swells later next week

That would generate sizey swells from the same direction, under an onshore flow. Winds and swell direction then look to tend more NE later next week and into the weekend, with an offshore change possibly on the cards next weekend.

We’ll see how it looks Mon, and until then, have a great weekend!
