Best Days: Saturday, Sunday morning

Recap

Tiny Sunday while a new S'ly swell build through yesterday with varying winds through the day, mostly favourable for south magnets.

This morning the S'ly swell was easing back from 2ft across magnets with offshore winds.

This week and weekend (Aug 15 - 20)

Today's S'ly swell will continued to fade overnight leaving nothing into tomorrow morning across the region. Gusty offshore winds will kick in from Wednesday as a series of vigorous mid-latitude fronts push across us.

There's no swell due off these fronts but heading into Friday and Saturday, a strong polar front will generate some good new S'ly swell.

This front is expected to form south of the state Wednesday, with it moving slowly east while generating a broadening but weakening fetch of strong S/SW winds through our southern swell window Thursday.

The front will bring a S'ly change on Friday and building S'ly windswell through the afternoon to 3ft+ across south facing beaches but with W/SW tending S'ly winds.

Stronger levels of groundswell are due Saturday morning with good 3-4ft sets across south facing beaches along with favourable W/SW winds.

The swell is due to ease into the afternoon, further Sunday from 2ft with offshore W'ly winds.

Longer term there's nothing major on the cards besides small S'ly swells, but more on this Wednesday.
