Best Days: Every day over the coming period besides early Sunday

This week and next week (Oct 7 - 16)

Large and excellent surf the last couple of days with a strong SW groundswell pushing into the coast.

This is easing today but still offering plenty of size with weak trades, light and variable through the morning.

We've got two more large pulses of S/SW groundswell due into tomorrow and Thursday, generated over the weekend and yesterday by a vigorous frontal progression pushing up and into WA.

Both swells should come in around the similar size range with exposed breaks kicking back to the 8-10ft range tomorrow afternoon, holding Thursday morning before easing late, steadily back off through Friday and Saturday, bottoming out Sunday morning.

Weak trades are due over the coming days, lighter and more variable through the mornings, backing off further into next week.

A very inconsistent but fun S/SW groundswell is due into Sunday afternoon, with it being generated currently in the Heard Island region. A small fetch of severe-gale to sub-storm-force SW winds will be projected north-east towards us with inconsistent but strong S/SW groundswell, reaching 4-6ft across swell magnets into the afternoon/evening. The swell should then ease through Monday.

Following this swell, a smaller and more SW groundswell is due Tuesday but only to 3-5ft or so, easing into the middle of the week.

Longer term, a very very inconsistent long-range SW groundswell from under South Africa is due Friday afternoon/Saturday but we'll have a closer look at this on Thursday.
